Having one good twohander to drop is easier than to pick up two decent onehanders but is it enough to justify the heavy attack speed drop (15% from dual wield bonus and another x% from using a fast offhand) for sprint/tornado? You are not mistaken. Blizzard failed at maths and 1 handers are still superior.
They should have allowed 2 handers to have 2 sockets.
I am comparing some of the items shown on the Blizzard preview and the ones that are datamined in your post and there is a pretty significant difference in the actual power of the weapons.
For example, take a look at maximus.
The one datamined showed its base stats + 2 random properties.
The one shown in the Blizzard preview had the same base stats + 340str/100dex/150 vita, 14% damage to demons and 193% crit damage, defintely more than 2 random properties.
The same for Skorn.
Is there a possibility that there is some inaccuracy as far as the datamined weapons go? I am actually hoping that that is the case because if the datamined tooltips is true, the weapons are going to be very weak just like they are now.
I took a 2nd look at wf again and something worries me, it is a lack of + weapon damage.
Even with petfect +50% damage and 11 ias, its damage is still going to be pathetic.
The random stat would need to be + damage for it to compete with rares but you are going to end up with 0 crit damage on weapon.
In other words, there is a high chance for you to find a WF with below 1k dps (just like it is now!) , i really hope i am wrong or the datamined info is slightly off but it seems likely that it remains crap.
Yup,WF's knockback proc rate is 30 to 50% on the datamined main page....
Assuming it is able to roll at least 1300+ dps n have a socket, it will probably be BIS for PvP, not in terms of pure dps output but its proc/firing rate.
