I am at 60k dps unbuffed with the enchantress, and buffed at 90k (foresight, combostrike, blazing wrath) plus with overawe, 600 LoH and 5.5% lifesteal i can face tank most anything in the act.
I only have 640 resists and 6400 armor, 30k life, but have 40% crit and 324% crit damage.
I have dual wielded since i was at 40k dps unbuffed and find that it becomes easy around 50k with lifesteal to face tank anything.

I disagree about us being the monkadin. We are the best killing class in the game. We dont need to worry about dodging damage as much as just plowing through anything. 100k fully sustainable dps plus 50% damage more from overawe and more off sheet dps from cyclones means we can clear any pack in less than 8 seconds. Of that we can immune almost half that time. We are the top dps class. Playing defense is missing out on the power of Ytar.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary

While i agree that this thread points out a reason why these skills are bad, the truth is they only provide stability and do not provide more speed of farming. Combo strike overawe foresight blazing wrath both increase damage and by killing things faster you take less damage because things are dead. Dead things dont deal damage. The secret to the game is to get the minimum defenses and then max offense. As you get more offense you will need less and less defense and will go faster and faster.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary

A monk with about 200 million will blow stuff up as fast as anything. You can get over 100k dps on the sheet permanently plus overawe and whirlwinds are bonus offsheet high dps. There are a few extreme dps monks out there equal to any class. But if you want to play a barb, play a barb. And enjoy the game.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

No one addresses the reality that everyone deals with. The question is simple. With loh costing so much on weapons will leach be enough to keep me alive. In the hardest parts of the game, the champ packs, lower life on hit, supreme dps and 5-6 leach is enough. And it is much more cost effective and works on more skills. Loh is easier. But leach combined with loh and high dps is enough. And cheaper on weapons.Posted in: Theorycrafting and Analysis

I agree with Zuchi. I went to dual generators. Fist of Thunder of course, but also Deadly Reach with Foresight instead of Blinding Flash because it is a constant damage boost. It also allows me to use combo strike for another bonus to damage. Plus Deadly Reach lets you kill the nasty pack with Desecrate Molten Arcane Fire Chain by standing far away from them. The other alternative is to FoT in, hit while immune and as soon as you take damage run away. Then come back in later.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I play with a group and we buff each other. I can hit 1200 resists, and 10,000 armor. And even with 1000 LoH, life steal, and hard target and a barb shout I can't stand in every pack's damage without moving some.

Life Steal becomes useful after you hit 60 to 70k dps on your character sheet. Before that it is minimal and a few hundred LoH is better. At higher dps it does start to add up and combined with LoH can be pretty useful and is much cheaper than LoH on weapno.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary

I agree. Dual wield 2 weapons. In the offhand weapon get high dex, high crit chance and a socket for more crit chance. It can double your dps. And you hit faster for better use of LoH.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I also agree your stats are low. You should aim for 1700 dex, 800 resist all and 5000 armor. That and 2 decent 750 dps critty weapons will put you into the 30k range.
