posted a message on Rewriting Diablo III
The story of D2 was awesome, but my experience of the story was much less clear while I was playing the game. I actually went to the Diablo wiki and filled myself in to really appreciate the story. The clues are there for you to pick up if you are attentive while playing the game, but I really didn't understand the the story very well until my hell playthrough. In D3, I felt I had a very good handle on what the story of the game was, but the story itself, especially act 3 and 4 left something to be desired. It just wasn't that compelling.

I was left wanting something from Mephisto and Baal. If you didn't play D2, you wouldn't really know who they were unless you listened carefully to the writings on the lords of hell by Cain in act 2. They are supposed to be equal to Diablo in their power and evil...and yet nothing about them or influence from them.

    Cains death...

The butcher could have used some hyping up in the buildup to the final boss of act 1. In all the other acts, you knew who you were gunning for, but the Butcher kinda comes out of nowhere with a pitiful introduction from Mahgda. How did the butcher come back after he was defeated in Diablo 1? I wanna know. Dont need anything super detailed, but at least some mention of it would be cool.

Azmodan, greatest battle commander in the burning hells...reveals all his plans to the hero and how to stop him. Not much of a tactician. Other people have touched on this, and I just wanted to add my tally to that vote.

Leah becomes Diablo...I kinda felt the same way about her "death" as I did Cain's. It needed something more.

In D2 act 4, you defeat Izual and supposedly free his soul from its corrupted demon form, and even have a conversation with the angel, who spurs the hero on to face diablo...and then all of a sudden he's a demon again under Diablo's command. Why? I need some story here behind that.

I'm hoping Pindle comes back as a miniboss in act 5, or at least a rare spawn...it seems like it would be a good fit with the whole army of the dead theme that act 5 looks like it will be following. Just for a bit of D2 nostalgia.

As long as monster power is on, then the original ilvl doesn't matter, they will still roll ilvl 63 affixes. Base damage/armor is going to be whatever the ilvl says in the bottom left corner, but other than that anything dropped on mp1+ is ilvl 63 (or act 3-4 on mp0).

Also, if you play hardcore, anything that rolls decent level requirement reduction is going to be worth something, including daibos and 1h xbows, since people are always leveling up new characters.

Actually, according to this post : http://www.diablofan...-monster-level/ they only have a chance (much lower than actual ilvl 63 items) to roll ilvl 63 affixes.
That is very interesting, I would like to see more to back that assertion up. Even so, It doesn't change the fact that there is a possibility for 63 affixes, which makes lower level gear still worth grabbing, for me at least. No item has a guaranteed chance of getting a level 63 affix, its all just RNG. I have picked up plenty of level 61 and 62 weapons with over 80% CD rolls (unfortunately they didn't come with socket+blackdmg+50%dmg rolls as well).

There is no right or wrong answer to "What is worth picking up?", its all personal. Do you play diablo because you really want to grind experience? If that's what tickles your pickle, then by all means ignore all but set and valuable legendaries. I personally find the gear hunt the most rewarding thing, which is why even before they buffed the shit out of XP in higher monster powers and gave the multiplayer bonus, I was grinding mp8-10 because the drops where so much more frequent. In fact, 90 of the 92 paragon levels on my softcore barb came before that patch.

So, do you pick up all ilvl 58 or 59 items?
As long those droped on mp1+ i pick up gloves and patns even if they are lv58. The base armor is lower but thats it. The possible rolls are the same regardless ilv. I just recently sold high int/trifacta/all res gloves lv59 for 300mil. :>
    So, gloves+pants=all 58/59 items? Do you pick up lvl59 1H xbow? lvl59 2H xbow?
Do people not read what they themselves quote? I clearly wrote "all". I'm so confused.
Stop getting all butthurt and defensive when someone disagrees with your opinion. You apparently didn't read what he said, and jumped to an obviously wrong conclusion. He said pants and gloves, and that's what he meant. You seem to be looking for a reason continue an argument that no one else is interested in. Being antagonistic and destructive in your comments makes you a detriment to a conversation, find some other way to contribute.

On topic: If you play softcore, I agree with only jewelry, 1h's and pants. On Hardcore, the market is not completely flooded and you can still make a modest amount of gold on other slots since there is still an item sink. I find that sheilds, offhands, helms, gloves, chests, boots, belts, gems, tomes can also be worth picking up. Also, the midrange item market is still viable on hardcore, whereas on softcore its completely dead. Things that are decently rolled which would only be worth 100k at most on softcore can be into the couple millions or so on hardcore. A star emerald on softcore might be 500k, but on hardcore its 1.5-2m.

This is one reason why I spend most of my time now on hardcore. I find that it is more rewarding, as well as more challenging, since more drops are worth keeping to sell to those people who die often and need to start over.

When I read threads like this, I wonder to myself:

Did the derailer intend to send this thread into tangential oblivion? And if so, well done, sir.

I'm quite sure there are people out there who purposefully hunt for topics to send into chaos just for a bit of fun.

Whats your all resist at? You should probably looking at upping that if you intend to do higher MP.

First, get another radiant in your other weapon. Then I'd look at changing out your ring...and then bulk up on all resist.

posted a message on 1.0.9 Legendary Item Improvements
I would be happy to see legendaries that make the game more interesting, but all of your suggested buffs on those items you so skillfully photoshopped are just straight dps boosts, which is boring and the reason so many people have lost interest in the game. Adding damage multipliers to everything does not make the game any better. They started to do this with affixes like the poison nova on Andy's or summoning a skeleton to fight for you on the litany of undaunted set, but they failed to make the procs strong enough to be useful. They need to take it another step and introduce more affixes like these.

Also, just adding an affix to an item slot that isn't normally available there is a really lazy way to itemize things. I'm speaking specifically to items like witching hour or Mempo of twilight with extra damage modifiers where they aren't usually found. It makes the items the best available, but its boring.

Way back when snb was the only way to go (like v1.1) I had something like 10k armor 1050 all res, (1100 fire res) and 65k hp 900 loh, with around 45k or so dps. I personally didn't think it was that fun lol.

maybe you can try this with a friend and your sc barbarian.
if you get kicked out immediately or you take further damage and die!

This occurred to me, however in a multiplayer game the game is not terminated when one person leaves, as it is in a single player game, so you would be comparing apples to oranges in that situation.

posted a message on A question for hardcore barbs
I would like to go whirlwind spec and try to speed up my leveling and farming on my hardcore barb, however I am one of the unlucky bastards that is plagued by the client disconnect while whirlwinding (when playing my softcore barb). This immediately kicks you to the menu screen when it occurs, and I am wondering if, when this happens, your character is still capable of dying on the server you just disconnected from? Does anyone know if this can occur, and/or if they or anyone they know has lost a hardcore barb due to this? I would like to avoid losing my character that I have invested a significant amount of time into because of some stupid bug.

The message I am referring to looks like this: "Game Connection Lost: Your client has been disconnected from the server"

    Thanks for the help

posted a message on The Raoha Route: The bar has been raised even further, 30% faster then Alkaizers Route!! [outdated]
I like to start with keep depths lvl 3, since it is quite small and always 2 elites, up to 4 + goblin; however I'm more concerned with drops than experience. Is Keep 3 really much worse for xp than Keep 2? Seems that maximizing stacks first before you dive into the high density areas would be more productive.

posted a message on WW barb to WT barb - help!
WT build is pretty expensive if you want to do it effectively (ie use WT as a fury generator instead of a spender). You will need -4/-5 WT SoJ and belt (probably IK), you need high crit chance, and a high damage/socketed 300 spear isn't cheap. I wouldn't suggest going WT unless you have like 150m+ to spend on those items specifically, in addition to just generally upgrading the rest of your gear. It would be better IMO to just stay WW and keep farming instead of trying to force a build that probably will be difficult to make work well with your budget.

posted a message on Need help with Demon Hunter Cinderstrafe spec.
Low crit chance, and low discipline pool. You have bracers, helm, and gloves with no CC on them, which is gimping your discipline return from nightstalker, and your cloak and quiver do not have discipline on them. I would suggest trying the build with a calamity instead, it has hatred regen on it, you get 10% extra cc, and if you are farming on mp0-1 you are probably overkilling with that manticore anyways, it would be better to have a fast attack speed weapon, plus faster attack speed means more crits per second, and therefore more discipline returned from nightstalker.

PS why does your enchantress have a 1500dps skorn? sell that so u can get some upgrades lol.
