The only solid upgrade I know that I can get dps wise is a EF but I am not a fan of losing LS on my wep.

I +1'd you for the effort, but.....

#1 - your attitude regarding the game's flaws is too "move along, nothing to see here". There IS something to see there.

#2 - you seem to reach the conclusion that the only "fix" for the situation is a crafting solution. I have to tell you that, to me, that sucks. After crafting about 200 pieces (yes, I know, not that many), I've realised that crafting in D3 feels (again, to me) a lot like the auction house. Just press a button, pay some gold and mats (which can be bought anyway - except for D.E.) and I know I'm getting (for example) rare shoulders with 6 props, where 1 of those props is already defined. It's just like buying gear: it has zero excitement, and doesn't even come close to watching something drop, picking it up, identifying it and have your mind be blown. I was looking forward to this crafting overhaul, but I was much disappointed by it, so I'm not looking forward to that solution of "more crafting".

Wait you actually managed to get 200 essances with barely playing? you sure must be lucky to get those essances every pack kill.

barbs got the BEST buffs by far out of everyone for no reason.

I wasn't aware that 4% HP/sec, 20% armor, and 20% resist all was even in the same realm of awesomeness as Overawe is. Hell, even WDs have a ridiculously-strong DPS buff. To say that Inspiring Presence + Warcry + Impunity is the "best" buff is severely... stupid.

It's good that Barbs get a solid defensive group buff. It's certainly better than Mantra of Healing, but it's hardly the absolute best buff in the game. Frankly, I think they should encourage people to bring synergies to groups anyway. Sacrifice a little personal DPS for a very large group survivability buff, or a very big DPS buff.

I know I typically don't run BBV on my WD, but every time I'm in a group I switch it in for something.

........I would have thought it was obvious to you that I meant the patch not in the whole game and that there is no reason as barbs are game breakingly broken OP,

I think half these people here have never played a barb and if it you have its never been inferno. I used Inspiring Presence for awhile
never did i think it was OP. Barbs allways had to use dodgey mechanics to stay alive. ( Exp : Crushing ADV , X2 WW , Revenge )

Skills you HAD to use to stay alive. BT was mandatory in a game where nothing should be mandatory. 4% now makes me feel like a can make other builds and have decent survivability. Besides 4% per sec is not going to save you if you get a bad pull on elites or if your trying to faceroll MP10 on Muiltplayer. Its great to see Inspiring Presence made viable again.

Also dont forget that in order to use Inspiring Presence you have to give up BT. Thats 3% Life steal. So you going to take a hit picking this passive so 4% regen sounds like a good counter. About the barbs with 150k hp. You guys are talking about them dudes thats have like 90K dps that will never see MP10 cause of bad damage right?

I think YOU have NEVER played another class ,,,as what ppl have been pointing out is that barbs in now way need a buff of any sort to top it of everyone got a life reg buff but some how barbs got the BEST buffs by far out of everyone for no reason.

Edit: ppl have bad damage becuase they have high hp? ever heard of good gear?

When I see what the creators of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 have managed to pull off in recent years (in particular Torchlight), I'm really getting sick of all these "oh, I wish the original people would still work on the game" comments.

I have played almost every RPG game that was available on computer in the past 25 years, and Torchlight 2 is among the worst when it comes to telling a story. There is no story in Torchlight 2. Even Tetris has a better story than Torchlight 2.

Same for the color argument - people are often complaining about the "light colors" of Diablo 3 and comparing it to the "dark theme" of Diablo 2. Then we see comparisons of D2 act 3 with D3 act 2. Well done. Nothing, absolutely nothing in D3 is as bright and colorful as the entire act 2 in D2. And if you just look at the end of D2 classic, where you walk through lava areas so bright they hurt your eyes and Lord De Seis's wizards are throwing rainbows at you... compare this to D3 and the very level before Diablo that makes your screen glow dark red like you're walking through an area covered in blood. Really? REALLY?

If you think D3 is not dark enough, turn down monitor brightness, skip act 2, install DarkD3, or play with sunglasses.

Or: just install D2 or TL2, do a full playthrough, and then go back to D3. And you'll notice that D3 beats both games in terms of being dark - by a mile. (Been there, done that.)

Are you implying that D3 had a good story or something?

I think Diablo 3 has a great story, Yeah its not the worlds best sure, but it did have me asking questions. What will happen to Leah's soul? Who will reclaim the black soul stone? Where's Adria? Are you going to save lyndons brother from prison? and so much more.
I am going to say your just some Fool that does not care about story and lore anyways. If you did you wouldnt say shit cause its clear you have no idea what your talking about lol. fuck off Troll.

Only troll here is you ......good story ? why because it left you asking questions ? I am sorry? Lost had me asking questions most of the time did not mean it had a good story. I don´t care about lore because I do not care about the D3 story ? The story is worse in D3 than it is in SC2 and if you think the story in SC2 is good you should read up on SC:BW or play it. This dose not mean the games in themselfs are bad in fact I think both games are pretty good as games, but fact remains that vs their predecessors in this day and age when the standard of story telling is so much higher than it was in the past would imply that for todays standards yes the story of D3 is pretty bad.

posted a message on Archon or CM/WW? need advice please
    Quote from Tiffy27

Thinking about making another wizard. I know Archon isnt very good on higher MPs but last time I played I really enjoyed Archon and Im sure eventually it will get fixed so people can play it on higher MPs. I mean you are supposed to play the build you like right and not just whats fotm for high MPs right? But when I first started playing the game, and most of last summer I played as CM/WW and really enjoyed it.

I would go archon until lvl 100 then start building up a CM set at that point as personally I think that archon was much faster to lvl then CM was for me when I was still lvling is seeing as it kills trash faster than CM dose, while CM has the egde at killing packs seeing as you can CC them down and for the most part ignore what affixes they have(apart from nightmarish + electrify)

    Archon Kills

For the Wizards out there, many of you don't play multiplayer because you need those kills to fuel your Archon. In 1.0.8, your Archon duration will also be extended by assists, so as long as you’re around when a monster dies, your Archon duration will be extended. (We have it on our radar to review other mechanics such as Life on Kill bonuses, but that's not something we'll be addressing this patch.)

    Quote from Jaetch

Long-term, get Lacuni, since the best ones will always beat out any crafted bracers and can also roll double vitality if you're worried about HP (or resistance to go with int+vit roll).

On the other side, Inna's Temp is incredibly limited potential-wise (the most you can get is 100 int, 100 vit), thus they are much cheaper compared to the best Lacuni.

That's if you want to run 24% move speed. Otherwise, I suggest sticking with rare bracers and either rare pants or BT Jousting for the best balance of stats.

...Also, how in the world did you end up with 7K armor in your profile? Barb shout? Crystallize Ice Armor, then skill respec?

How good do those lacunis actually have to be ? because i just checked at a pair of 170 int lacunis with 5.5 CC only give me + 8.9k dps vs what I have atm but the thing is the bracers I am currently using only have 217 int and considering I am getting 89-92 + dps per int atm if i got a pair with with 300 int the lacunis would only yeild 1-2k dps more than crafted bracers can but there is no way they can match the EHP crafted bracers can provide you with.

I guess the pants can give you more EHP than bracers can but if you want to max dps(and decent EHP especially on a budget) innas are better as I am comparing to my current rare pants(162int) and the innas(82 int) i got with vitt and int are giving me 13.7k + dps vs current rare pants that is without even socketing int in either pants.

This is my char. =) [Normal Rings are Zuni-Pox and a Rare-Ring]

    My Budget is ~100M

I am Archon most of the time, sometimes durdling around with other speccs, Sometimes just play PvP for the lulz. I don't like the 123-Spam of CM-Wizards, so I don't play it. Like I said, the main-point is not to lose 24% Movement Speed.

If you play archon get innnas pants hands down as lacunis are overpirced as fuck and have always been with new crafted bracers you can easily make a pair that will give you both good damage and EHP, while getting a similar pair of lacunis will cost you more.

posted a message on Jay Wilson: Auction Houses 'really hurt' game
    Quote from MarshBoxer

    Quote from maka

    Quote from MarshBoxer

    AH is not the culprit.

A Highly Efficient Market is the problem -
the excitement of real trading is the rush of exploiting market inefficiencies and discrepancies of valuation...but when you are sitting there ready to snipe the next mispriced item along with 10000 other players, its no fun. And because of these people, items will converge to a so-called agreed gold value measurable only by statistics and therefore unenjoyable. Some of us out there get paid six digit salaries to do this as their day job...

There is a place for the convenience of AH because gear progression for your average player is difficult (not impossible) to progress through inferno without trading. But it should not be the venue to trade items at the higher end because gold is not the appropriate measure of value for the best items.

    My suggestion:

    - Add a gold-cap on AH trades (just like the RMAH).

    - Create "live-auction chat rooms" with a much higher cap.

    - Make gold decay per-account at 10% per week.

These 3 aspects will create a much more exciting endgame trading experience, and the weekly decay cycle will ensure awesome amounts of activity in these chat rooms. The dual system will force rich players to part ways with their "good" items if they really need that cash for the next purchase...these items are depreciating anyway.

This way noone will sit on their gold or sit on their items.

    Get out.

    Now.

The AH never was a mistake. Jay Wilson, as immature and dubious as his character was, was the mistake.

Also speaking of character, you sir have almost as many posts here as you have elite kills, I don't even know why I replied to a post as vacuous as yours.

And all those people hailing that D2 was the bee's knees - I'm sorry it isn't, it was good for a time when people were just starting to discover there are others on the internet. The hierarchy from Pgems to Uniques to unattainable rares/crafts/runes and gamebreaking runewords was archaic and ungratifying - nevermind the very few classes that can do hell decently with self-found. If you are still so blind, that game is still there with the open arms of powerleveling hammerdinbots waiting just for you.

Also there is the option for you to play D3 however you want - with or without AH - so if you want to wallow in your morally superior mediocrity the world doesn't care (neither does it care about all your awesome BOAs)

You sir just won the thread/reply/topic/whatever you wish to call it in my eyes :D
