    So I've been playing my DH since RoS again, but right now I've kinda hit a stalling point with her.
    With gold being the largest issue to get better gems and legendaries simply refusing to drop ( besides the deadmau5 neck, that thing drops like candy for me ).

    With my character being this currently:

    I'm trying to get a Danetta's Spite for my main hand and the rest of the Marauder's set for the other pieces.
    But that is assuming RNG will grant me those items, with good rolls.

    Kadala seems largely useless to me, the items I want is not what she gives.
    But to be sure about it, this post;

    Does Kadala even grant me anything remotely useful or am I just trading blood shards for gold and forgotten souls?
    Is my quest for a Spite and Marauder's a foolish one, as in is there something better to get without hoping to get so many set pieces?

    Offline mode for me.. I would have liked it if they just made it properly and separated the two. Having offline and online play, where online has auction house and ladder and offline has the capability of local co-op using save files. Or perhaps sign on to battlenet to download characters and then able to play offline.

    There would be a big story jump, though, if suddenly anyone who has completed Act 1 Quest 5 (?) would suddenly have a new NPC showing up in town as a result of completing that quest.

    I mean I don't particularly care about the storyline, but it would seem more... seamless... if she were a "reward" from a quest in Act 5 like Haedrig is in Act 1 and Shen is in Act 2.

    Not saying that is what will happen, just saying that is the original mystic npc that never made it into the game. Since they are calling the new npc also a mystic they 'could' reuse the npc they had in place originally

    I would guess that the whole monster power being an integrated system ( compared to the d2 version which inspired mp ) is, and will always remain, a source of complaining. Mainly the age old story of "I cannot do MPX but this guy on the internet can." while it boils down to not having the gear/money/time/skills/willingnesstolearn to get that down and thus complain..

    Localization, different countries use a dot or comma. You need to make sure you make the localization of type invariant ( which is actually just US ) for the parsing or you will get silly exceptions

    I have an error margin of 20,000 damage with sharpshooter on and 30,000 with sharpshooter off... I cant save you the file because when i save my character it crashes the program...

    There's clearly a math issue somewhere as i rechecked my stats a dozen times.

    That makes me think you added in your +elemental damage too. Don't do that, it is already incorporated in the weapon damage values you see itself. If this is not the case then please let us know

    Testing has completed on v0.4 and we are happy to present you this update!

    You can download the latest version here by clicking this shiny yellow link!

    Changes that include in this version:
    • Passive Skill damage modifiers implemented for all classes
    • Follower Buff support, for when you run with your Scoundrel or Enchantress
    • Dual Wield support
    • Better error handling
    • Should you run into an exception, you have the option to send us a report of the error.
      This report includes data from the application namely:
      The exception message.
      Stacktrace of the exception.
      Character data that you were working with.
      Possible extra notes that the user would give us about what he was doing.
    • A lot of UI changes, though minor, that should make handling the application easier
    • We have an icon!
    As always, should you have a suggestion or want to manually report an issue post it here.

    Have fun all of you guys in using our app and we hope you all look forward to version 0.5!

    Thanks for the great and suggestive response.

    Dual wield is coming in the next version (0.4), which is RC right now. A minor bug in the calculator code is preventing a release and our calculator coder is having difficulty finding the time to fix it.

    0.5 will bring a lot of changes to the UI overall, making the app more visual friendly too.

    You can always visit our roadmap on the wiki to see what we plan to bring each version, the aim is exactly what you want and what we advertise for: A one stop program that calculates everything as if you never left D3 : )

    Just a heads up for people who have created their save files in v0.3;

    Due to a change v0.3 save files are not compatible with v0.4.
    Depending on if we want to push a release when we finish the last few things in the roadmap we might look for a fix/workround for the problem.

    Roadmap updated: Dual Wield support implemented in the dev version.
    I've also taken some time to rewrite the dialog that adds item stats, weapons are now less of a hassle and more easy to add.

    Right now we just have a few things left on the list for v0.4, namely:
    • Missing stats
    • Follower Buffs
    • Minor fixes and additions, item slot name in the title of add itemstats to item for instance

    We have just implemented (And I literally mean just an hour or two ago) a change to the enumerations of the stat values to be localized in the dev version. They should now show up somewhat better, e.g. '+ Minimum Damage' instead of 'MinimumDamage' and 'Attack Speed increased by %' instead of 'AttackSpeed'.

    The weaponspeed is redundant and not used. All weapons in game have a fixed attack speed, so : )
    Also, we know that a lot of stats are still missing, it's on the TODO list for this version atleast :P

    I will see if I can sneak in an icon chooser for v0.4, just don't tell pdluke! :x

    The request was more to indicate how a used slow should look like. The only indication if a slot has stats in it is to mouseover it for a tooltip. We are looking for a way to make this visible in a different way, not necessarily having the stats shown however.

    I was personally thinking of maybe just adding a icon chooser during stat addition.

    We are in need of some user input currently on what to do with the buttons that represent the character item sheet. Right now they are very dull looking buttons that don't really serve any purpose but to be able to click on them to edit the stats.

    I would like to know from you guys what you think would be a good idea to put on those buttons that would both make sense and be usable. Remember that for items like the Neck and both rings the space is limited!

    Nah, far from 1.0. We have a lot of things planned before we bump it out of beta!
    But please, if you could be so kind, put this on our issues page as a suggestion. It keeps it sorted and clean and people from different sources besides D3Fans will see the suggestion too! : )

    Our current developer version has a nice and shiny error reporting function in it that dumps exceptions straight to our google issue page, no longer is it needed to have you as the user do it manually. I am hoping to expand this feature to allow for suggestions and manual error reporting ( For issues that are not erroneous code-wise ) from within Error37 itself too however that is for v0.5 at it's earliest point.

    Our backend developer is currently a bit time constraint and such our next version will likely not come out until late this weekend if not early next week. We'll see how far we can get it.

    Correct. There is a margin of error because we don't know the exact values from in-game data due to rounding, as you said. Perhaps when the D3 API is released we get more accurate values, atleast from items worn by players. It would reduce the margin of error.

    I went through it quickly before heading off to bed and my guess is that your weapon has not got a minimum and/or maxmimum damage attached to it.

    In v0.4 we will have better error handling to allow us for better bug tracking.

    Thanks for your report, though there is no need to copy over the error onto the thread here. We check the issue page often enough and will spot your problem when we start working on it again. : )

    Rare species and gentlemen, I would like to have a moment of your time please.

    We are pleased to announce our release of version 0.3, which will pave the way for 0.4; a version scheduled to bring the difference.

    The release notes for v0.3 are as follows:
    • The basic implementation for all classes have been put in. This does not include passive of active skills just yet, it will only calculate the damage from your gear alone. While we realise this is not perfect yet, it will help people identify upgrades at least.
    • Various UI fixes and improvements
    • Stability gain obtained
    • Saving and Loading of character sheets has been improved
    Our current plan is to release v0.4 in multiple parts.
    This means that v0.4 will include the core improvements to the application. v0.4.1 will be released shortly after and will include all active and passive skills of a class, if this is not in the core v0.4 yet, which it probably will. If that is the case then v0.4.1 will be a different class. The same goes for v0.4.2 etc until all classes have their skills included.

    It will take time for us to implement such amount of data, hence we choose for this segmented release. We realise this might dissapoint people who are playing class numero 5 and wish to use our calculator, we can only apologize. Time is limited for us too : )

    As always, if you find any issues or wish to make suggestions please do so on our issues page on google code. It helps us keep track of it and allows other players from different sources than D3Fans to chip in!

    We have a bunch of issues sorted in v0.3, with just one nagging one left. We hope to rectify that issue today and hopefully push v0.3 out tonight. This version will include basic support for all classes and a bunch of UI fixes

    The online version will be done through Silverlight. The reason for this is simply because neither of us two project starters ( me and pdluke ) are Obj-C devs but we are both C# devs. We realise this will exclude iOS from the the possible targets, for now. However because Silverlight -is- supported on Mac OS atleast that will in the nearby future be supported.

    If we can find a developer that has knowledge of Obj-C then we will not hesitate to take on the prospect of making this fully mac compatible

    Hey there Fans of Diablo!

    As some people roaming the official DH forums might have seen already there is a project running to create the ultimate user-friendly D3 calculator. We have named this calculator in honor of our good friend: ERR37.

    It is currently very much a work in progress, slowly building it up piece by piece. But we are getting there, having most basic implementations in there. These currently include:
    • Basic damage calculation for Demon Hunter ( including archery, sharpshooter and steady aim )
    • Adding items to a character, building them up stat by stat ( not all stats implemented yet )
    • Saving and Loading of characters
    • A seperated calcuator from the main application, allowing us to develop a Silverlight and possible a Mono for Android version in the future
    --ANOTHER UPDATE, v0.4c released!!!!--

    You can download the latest version here by clicking this shiny yellow link!

    Changes that include in this version:
    • a. Fixed saving issue
    • b. Fixed calculation error
    • c. Fixed IAS from the Enchantress not working
    • Passive Skill damage modifiers implemented for all classes
    • Follower Buff support, for when you run with your Scoundrel or Enchantress
    • Dual Wield support
    • Better error handling
    • Should you run into an exception, you have the option to send us a report of the error.
      This report includes data from the application namely:
      The exception message.
      Stacktrace of the exception.
      Character data that you were working with.
      Possible extra notes that the user would give us about what he was doing.
    • A lot of UI changes, though minor, that should make handling the application easier
    • We have an icon!
    Known issues of 0.4:
    • You will be unable to load in save files from 0.3 without manually editing the save file! If you want to do this you can do the following:
    • Open the .e37 save file with notepad
      Find the line where it says
      "$type": "System.Collections.ObjectModel.Collection`1[[DataContracts.Items.Item, DataContracts]], mscorlib",

      and change it with:
      "$type": "System.Collections.ObjectModel.Collection`1[[DataContracts.Items.IItem, DataContracts]], mscorlib",

      next for every item you wear you need to change every line where it says
      "$type": "DataContracts.Items.Item, DataContracts",

      to this
      "$type": "DataContracts.Items.Armor, DataContracts",

      Save the file and you should now be able to load it just fine in 0.4+.
    • You can select any weapon as your dual wield target.
    • You are not limited to 3 passive skills for your character
    • Entering a % value for stats that use % the value turns into x.xx format whilst non % values do not.
    • Character class and weapon type combobox lists are not localized yet and show enum values instead more human readable strings.

    For a bit of technical information:
    The application is written in C#. The current front end of the application is done in WPF. The Calculator itself is a class library with a Portable Class Library to communicate in between. This iwll allow us to add Silverlight and Mono for Android, any other .net front end to the calculator using the same code. The WPF client is using the Caliburn.Micro framework in conjuction with Ninject.
