People talking about progression push's at this point ? Maybe if they bought the game yesterday. Today you can clear from normal to inferno act IV in 3 days top with any class using 1m-2m gold in the AH :S ... And no...don't come at me with the lame excuse "We are casual" cause i can give a moderately geared monk to my 10 year cousin and watch while him clears inferno at least act I-II-III .

My friendlist is totally empty (And it was hella big since i was a former Wow player). I don't even play anymore....i log on ocassionally to say Hi if someone is connected then leave...while i camp up diablofans.com for patch notes :D

He's not bashing the game or blizz. Do us all a favor and L2read....

Hes obviously bashing one of them. He either thinks the game is crap compared to d2 which is bashing d3 or he thinks blizzard couldve done a better job which is bashing blizz. Maybe even both at the same time.

Any company should have done better than this. If tomorrow they release Baldur's Gate III would you spect it to be a Dragon Age 2 clone ? (For putting an example of a good franchise vs a utter terrible game).

There's no excuse for what they did. You just can't release a game w/o the -good- features it predecesor had. You now...it reminds me of EA milking the hell out of "The Sims" customers over and over again with the "Same" expansions for Sims 2 - Sims 3 instead of releasing a baseline sims 3 with all sims 2 features and trying to have some imagination for expansions....

The sad thing is that 90% of The Sims customers are just farmville users with no clue about gaming at all. I really DON'T like being told what to do in a game nor being fooled by "We want you to have fun".

God damn....this thread de-railed and it wasn't my intention, it wasn't my intention to try and prove my point with my subjetive view...well....I will edit the thread so i can make it more "Diablo 3" friendly. Let's just try to keep it civil k ?

I think you may have a point, but it has unfortunately been drowned out by your own hyperbole. I really hate it when people do that, because it gets the thread all tied up in a troll/counter-troll crapfest.

    Let me try:

Diablo3's endgame involves finding better rares by picking the hardest Act you can handle, getting 5 stacks, then hunting down elites until you clear the place and/or get bored. The loot mechanics are fun and challenging (as much as they can be in this genre), but the rewards are bland.

Diablo2's endgame had terrible loot-hunting mechanics but with variable locations and much more interesting and varied rewards... particularly runestones and niche uniques.

Blizzard has definitely fixed the bad things about D2's endgame, but seems to have inexplicably tossed out some of the things that made it great. Although they rightly call runestones a kind of crafting, it is a kind of crafting with RNG-based materials and very predicitable results. D3's crafting has very predictable materials, but utterly random results... which is exactly the wrong way to do crafting. Moreover, D3's legendaries have very little personality, and are left to compete with rares solely based on stats... where they almost always lose. What Blizzard needs to do is make legendaries truly unique, not just slightly sub-par rares, and overhaul the crafting system so that it's more than just melting gold and crossing your fingers.

I'm trying to grasp the real good things about Diablo 3 that i really can't see. I'm not trying to see the cons of both games. Please help me do that, so we can make a more real comparison between both of them :)

Hi guys...i made a little list of the things i could, and can do in Diablo 2.....help me with the Diablo 3 list...please ? :)

Note: I don't want to bash Blizzard, the devs and god for the problems that Diablo 3 is having, i just want to make a nice, meaningful comparison between the two games...

Note II: Please....don't start with the "After 10 years of patchs in Diablo 2..." because they should had made Diablo 3 with some Diablo 2 features from the start

    **********************************

Things you could do in Diablo 2 (Post 1.10 patch) :

    Act 1.

-Endless Andy Nm runs for SoJ's
    -Act 1 Pit
    -Act 1 Countess for runes

    Act 2

    -Summoner clear
    -Act 2 Sewers

    Act 3

    - Endless Meph hell runs to get regular uniques.
-Act 3 Lower Kurast chest runs
-Act 3 Kurast council for runes/loot

    Act 4

    -Alt Forge
    -Diablo full clear

    Act 5

-Endless Pindle Runs to get the best uniques.
-Baal runs for xp/ball kill for best uniques
    -Unique clearing in act V
    -Nihlathak runes

    Not tied to any act

-Switch between acts and do a 4 hours full map run (All bosses and meaningfull areas cleared)
-Cow Runs for runes and moo's
    -Nihlathak runes
    -Uber runs
    -Search for Diablo clone
-Breaking every single chest in a tc 87+ area (And actually getting loot)
-PvP in any part of the world in a 8 player game (But players could kill your character by going full hostile)
-Play with ridiculous and fun builds (Infinity sorc come to mind)
-Collect low level sets for alts (Sigon <3).
-Have fun having tons and tons of uniques (They where mostly useless if you where looking for the perfect one...but....hell..they dropped like hot candy).
    -Gamble for uniques/uber yellows
-Gamble with horadric cube for charms
-CHARMS...CHARMS...OMG WHERE ARE THE CHARMS !
-Finding white socketed items for runewords (And finding the perfect ones)
    -Socket and name your items
-Do meaningful, rewarding quest ( Ania's resistance quest come to mind...)
-If you wanted too....clear the whole game within the same game session
-Low level uniques where used, you could farm for them in Nightmare...

    And many other things.....

    *******
    Updated

Things to do in Diablo 3.

    - Nice crafting and gem upgrading system. Recipe based

    - Kill elites/champions packs for a guaranteed yellow after the first five

    - Make a full clear of any act and get the same quality loot regardless of the zone

    - Flexible skill system, that will translate in a ton of options w/o having to remake your character (When they balance the skills)

    -PONIES !

    -Auction House

Edit: Fixed it a little. I WON'T add RMAH to features cause' for me, it's the same as buying Diablo 2 loot in a shady chinese website. I won't add low level set items because between the terrible drop rate, and the poor stats, they are almost useless atm. Maybe they will fix them in a future patch :)

Tried with impale. It works, but mobs with illusionist are a pain in the ass to deal. So far, i'm very succesfull switching smoke screen with Shadow power + gloom (And i'm not even beastly geared) and frost arrow. Dropped sharpshooter, added cull the weak....i think no ? (+15% dmg to chilled or frozen targets)

Anyway...i will ask a real question to everywhere, the qq'ers, the fanboys, and the neutral-guys.

The whole point in the Diablo 3 franchise was doing certain builds work under certain conditions...(Infinity sorc come to mind in d2).....why they didn't make the other stats more appealing rather than nerfing ias to the ground ?. I don't want to "Balance" everything in my character, i want to make the build i want. Be it 50%+ crit, 500%+ crit dmg, insane IAS, etc. Why i can't have my little sandbox of stats to play with ?

    FFS

IAS is still REALLY, REALLY GOOD.

its like you guys cannot think at all.

Again, IAS is STILL A REALLY GOOD STAT.

Just not a completely broken must have.

Good lord, you guys are pathetic.

Am i doing mindless QQ'ing calling "Actiblizz is pure evil" or am i trying to explain my point ? There's no excuse to call me pathetic....really....why people in this forum are so unfriendly ?

I really hope this gets the mmo-champion treatment to deal with the trolls soon....

I agree with you 100%. People act like DH were the only classes that benefitted from IAS. Not to mention the fact that if you wanted to get IAS on a certain slot that normally didn't have it, it meant you needed to sacrifice something else (like lower main stats, etc). Boj's, Lacuni etc. come to mind.

Anyway....i don't know the exact reason why we can't have every single class op like hell with the right items. The problem was that DH's where having candy while the rest couldn't even aspire for it.

The solution in a Diablo world scheme would have been "Give candy to everyone".
The solution Blizz came up with... "Steal the candy for certain classes/builds"

No more MFing for clouds though :P NERF EVERYTHING BLIZZ

why don't you complain about this change (nerf)???
Damage from monsters in Acts II, III, and IV in Inferno difficulty has been reduced

Taking in account that they are at least nerfing 20% dps off all the classes.....

You guys are insanely lucky to get 16/hr. I did 6 pony runs last night with a friend. All elite/champ/clouds done with average 285 MF including NV stacks. I manage to get 18 rares total. Lol. Can't wait to always get one instead of seeing 2-4 blues drop 80% of the time.

That will be the main reason why ponies will be the most profitable thing to farm after the patch.

Read the two previous posts above: no more clouds.

Clouds aren't the reason for it. Read the NV change. Those ponies are considered act4 elite pack monsters which are on par with Inferno Diablo loot wise. They will ALWAYS drop rare item off them which has extremely high potential to be level 63.

It's the same as going for a full act 3 clear now...ilvl doesn't change between act 3-4 :(

You are missing this ... Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses
