Hey! You were super close and for your paragon that was quite the feat! Honestly yeah, you got screwed especially on that arm smash with you behind him.
I play tested the other day don't sleep on the Justinians Mercy flail.... gives a ton of mobility when used in conjuction with whatever other rune of your choice.
Me personally I used the Johanna flail, cubed Justinians Mercy, used the rune that gives a chance for more hammers when struck. I also wore the blessed of haul belt with Justice, and used Focus and restraint...
I also cubed Obsidian Ring of the zodiac and the armor slot is honestly just up to preference in my opinion.
with that said I cleared Grift 50 fairly easily, and had to go get sleep for work in the morning with the wipe happening next day didn't get to test further...
overall with thrown together gear and a few hodge podge set up of skills and cubed items I think it was excellent
It's really hard to say they changed the dynamic up a bit.... I quit a month or 2 back shortly after the season started but before I left I was comfortably doing 45 or so solo and now 45 is doable but takes longer feels different.. I think the less progress plays a part in that... mobs aren't that bad really, it's more the progress you get from it
IF! and only if they make it so that Hydra's doesn't remove the dot from firebirds it will be possibly BiS. Currently as it stands one Mammoth Hydra on PTR can stack up to 60-100m dot range, having 2 of them easily surprasses those numbers just from Hydra alone.
With that being said if you can get Hydra and Firebirds to work correctly together it's not unreasonable to haveup to 200m in firedamage dotsrolling between hydras and FB.
It is BIS, and one of the things that make it so powerful is the new Fireblizzard, you can pretty much do that and the new Gale Force and run away and come back to a pile of loot in a few seconds
No possible way they are releasing 2.1 in that soon.... Tons of balance changes out there and they have already said that they would do a Dev speak on 2.1 but wanted to wait several more build iterations to get balancing down...
WIth all that being said we are still several weeks if not months out.
Hey all, so with the real massive change to our class being the buff to Firebirds, I just wanted to know if any of you jumped on PTR and have any good working builds..
Over this weekend I messed around a bit with a few and for example I'll post mine what I did and explain my choices. please feel free to follow up and do the same. I am looking for great ideas my self!
With the changes to blizzard both in damage, return on life on hit, and it's 100% chance to freeze for 2 seconds it's rather powerful now.
In addition being able to freeze them in place and drop the extra crazy mammoth Hydra on them with blizzard and hydra melting.. you can also spam away the meteors and by then it's game over even on T6, finish them off with some conflags if you absolutely need, but the dot ticks from Firebirds and hydra alone generally do the trick.
Anywho I tried a bunch out and like this one, but always looking for new ways to try, post your builds here!
bagstone I tend to disagree.. while in theory yes you are correct in fact they could completely obliterate the patch as it stands and we wont see anything on the PTR at all.... so tuche to that.. however...
I still think we will only see an improvement to what is on PTR, if that is positive thinking than so be it, but I still think that over all what is being tested is a positive change to the game and for the results of this poll I am including only what is known to be on PTR for patch 2.1 which we can clearly see in patch notes...
ooo man yeah I remember this now! and the just pure insanity of packs that would anhilate you and then reset no matter how much health was left, but yet the timer would still count down.
I didn't include 2.0 because ROS was an expansion and well to get the full benefit out of this patch you obviously had to buy the expansion which IMHO detracts from the attractiveness of the patch its self. furthermore I am more focusing on patches not expansions etc because ofc with how much ROS cost to buy it BETTER be better than most patches.
so with that being said discuss, what was your favorite patch and moment of this game so far.
I am really hyped about this upcoming patch after playing on the PTR there has been a lot of well thought out changes for the health of this game that are being introduced and the objective of trying to make all classes usefull and powerful is a step in the right direction. Not to mention buffing 2H's across the board and introduction of even more ways to play between seasons and GRIFTS I think this could honestly be my favorite patch.
I def agree with that sentiment, just tried it on the PTR and it's hard to tell for sure though. but with that being said, I wouldn't doubt that it is either.
just wondering if a slow from Chill, and not necessarily frozen counts as Control-impairing thus boosting damage done to chilled or slowed mobs by 20%?
Wizards defenses are underwhelming so we have Energy Armor, blur
wizards Offense is underwhelming so we have magic weapon, familiar.
Our AP is underwhelming so we have prodigy, Astral Presence
If you honestly think about it the skills that they have offered wizards to help "buff" the wizard may be one of the issues holding back the dev team.
The problem I see in this is the fact that to be even competitive in any format a lot of builds RELY on at a minimum the following:
Energy armor
Magic weapon/familiar
and sometimes (a lot of times) familiar even with Magic Weapon
Magic Missle or another signature that doesn't do damage (especially if they nerf conflag in the new patch)
now we have passives alot of builds especially T5/T6 require Blur, Prodigy, and one more damage buff with lackluster choices in that catagory, and sometimes you have the choice for a 4th free passive.
with all this being said, we honesty have a choice of 2 spells to pick from and 1 passive.
and thats just to make our class lackluster compared to any others atm.
Where I really intended to go with that is that AS, especially from a vanilla aspect was the bread and butter to get your damge to appear higher or be higher...
But now that CDR etc etc etc has been introduced new builds and potential for more damage has been increased. even at the cost of sheet dps..
before 2.06 obv you couldn't really tell how well elemental damage was helping you, it's now more clear with the new display, but it was still clearly better than AS in almost all cases.
