So I'm having some trouble setting up my build like this. I'm a new player so that may be the problem. The game is letting me pick Big Bad Voodoo or Gargantuan but not BOTH. I'm also seeing that you have Gargantuan set as a Mouse Skill and have no Secondary selected? I'm getting pretty confused here.
If you switch on "elective mode" in the game settings you will be able to assign skills more freely.

Running around with my friend, from time to time. He has very bad seasonal monk gear(he is like 6 hours old). Don't know how viable it will be at, let's say, grift 45. But at t6, he almost permafreezes RG's and that is without frostburns. Also, yellow gear 100mils rymeheart procs ftw!
I cannot imagine how you would (almost) permafreeze RGs. I've played rimeheart with frostburn, cold implosion, cold mystic allys, cold spirit generator, ... the only thing I did not use was an azurewrath.
The freezing worked perfect for white mobs, ok for champs and it really sucked for bosses and rares. The diminishing returns on CC reduce the time your target is frozen so much that rimeheart rarely ever procs on bosses.

And it gets even worse if other players use different CCs and build up the immunity of your target (e.g. stuns).

    (I've switched to sunwuko meanwhile.)

Who plays public Grifts? That seems like just a bad idea to me.
I do. You have to inspect & just leave sometimes, but it works OK if you just want to upgrade some gems.

I too play differently. I like playing story mode, but mostly alone. I've recently leveled another HC char by playing story mode until level 65. (After that I started doing bounties.) And I've finished the ROS story line at least 20 times already.

I've played a monk with frostburn, rimeheart and 4 active skills which apply a freeze and a fast attack with a good proc coefficient. And the damage still sucked on bosses. (The control on normal mobs & champs was great though.)

The problem with rimeheart is that it is utterly useless on bosses/elite. With the diminishing returns on CC you freeze bosses/elite much much shorter intervals and in this short interval you need rimehearts 10% * your awful proc coefficient to happen.

It should work on chilled enemies and it would be fine, I think.

...And now in D3 you have to change your main class every single patch if you want to play endgame content, when RoS came out WD was dominating everything, so everyone rolled a WD, now with 2.1 DH is destroying GRifts, so everyone goes and rolls a DH in order to get to the endgame content. ...
It's your fault if you feel that you must play the most popular class. That you can't have fun playing anything that's second or third place.

In 1.8 I've played wizard and in 2.1 season I'm playing only monk. I'm playing end-game-content and I'm having fun.

If you want to feel powerful, there's a difficulty for you. If you want a challenge there's a difficulty for you and if you really have the urge to feel overwhelmed then there's a difficulty for you as well.

And different classes have different leader boards for a reason. If you want to play barb you only have to compare yourself to other barbarians. (Or don't compare at all and just have fun playing, ffs!)

Ok, nvm. Found it (http://eu.battle.net/d3/ru/profile/Rob-2628/hero/30437409) and obviously he stripped him (I really can't understand why someone want to do that).
He just removed the jewelry, probably so he can upgrade it from a different char. (as explained earlier)

^ No offense guys, but there IS a way to make a simple "calculation".

You are ignoring many factors to simplify your calculation. Is is sustained dps or burstdps (e.g. Seven Sided)? How much time is spend travelling? How often do I die? What kind of items do I pick up and how much time is spend indentifying/selling/sorting?

    Reality is not simple.

    Quote from thundersteele

Let me be a bit more specific. I think the misconception that is in place here is that the whole grind is to gear up (and getting the paragons up) for some future content. In my opinion this is fundamentally wrong. The process of leveling and gearing is all that there is. If you let the bot do it instead, you might as well not play at all. If you don't enjoy playing right now, why would it be more fun if you are leveled out and decked out in BiS gear? Then there is nothing left to do...
    (...)
In short, I don't see how botting enhances the gaming experience. If you enjoy the game, play it, if not, stop. A bot won't change that.

I completly agree. I don't enjoy grinding gear/xp and I don't enjoy playing the AH so I don't do it. I'm very active in diablo, but my main char is only paragon 25.

I did some alkaizer runs (mp0, archon) but it gets boring fast (<30 Mins), so I do something completly different. For example leveling a new char on MP10 (only to delete it at lvl 60) or hunting for difficult achievments.

Of course I love to be powerfull, but not enough to do boring grinding or start botting.

I only play when its fun and that is the main focus. Botting cannot be fun for me.

posted a message on [Fun] Challenging leveling Idea
I just leveled two new chars (WD + Wizard) through softcore on MP10 with a hellfire ring (two actually, the follower had one as well). My biggest challenge was always killing diablo alone at the appropriate level (30, 50) and the pony level. I went into the pony level at lvl 19, 37 and 54.

You have to adjust your play style when white mobs can one-hit you*, so I've had a chance to learn about all the CC the WD has (wizard is my main so I already new most of it).

(*With the wizard at lvl 37 chubby ponies could even one-hit me through DS(CS).)

Kulle Story, Bro: a reference to the oft-used line, "Cool story, bro." This variation is a tribute to the Diablo character Zoltun Kulle.

This is actually the name of a hc achievment (killing zolten kulle). The hc kill achievments all have more creativity than their sc counterpart.

I like the one for Maghda: "The Witch Is Dead" -> a reference to "The Wizard of Oz".

    Quote from Mortac

But, HOW can a slow weapon possibly gain more benefit from a set increase in attack speed from the Echoing Fury? I don't see how this is happening. For example, increasing a weapon's speed of 1 second down to 0.75 seconds should yield a larger increase than decreasing 2 seconds to 1.75.

Or does this simply have to do with higher damage on weapons giving skills higher damage, since they take a percentage of the weapon's damage?

Echoing Fury adds Attacks per Second not Attack Speed. So it actually works the other way around.

    slow weapon 0.9 + 0.20 = 1.1 Attacks per Second => 22.22% increase
    fast weapon 1.4 + 0.20 = 1.6 Attacks per Second => 14.29% increase

posted a message on DEBATE: Spending money on virtual items, and more
I've canceled my wow subscription and pumped some of that money into D3, after trying to find/finance upgrades for several month without RL cash. It did not work out, so I was really glad when I finally had the funds to make a big upgrade. It really improved my game experience and was worth it.

On the other hand I had to play ubers/keyruns with a friend of a friend who invested tons of cash into his newly leveled char. His paperdoll stats were amazing but he was close to useless when doing ubers. He had five times the EHP and ten times the life steal/life on hit than me. Nevertheless he kept dying. And I really despise that type of players.
