"In this postmortem, we'll explore the pillars that guided Diablo III's development and how well we felt we accomplished each of them."

When you build pillars you should use concrete, or another proven-to-wok material. This half complete, someone somewhere said would work just as good product has, tainted this franchise.

    Quote from Benegesserit

Diablo III was the #1 best-selling PC game at retail, breaking PC game sales records with more than 12 million copies sold worldwide through December 31, 2012

As of December 31, 2012, Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft remains the #1 subscription-based MMORPG, with more than 9.6 million subscribers

    1) Why do they bother to bring up this number? The only number that matters is how sales continued after about a month from release. Before that everyone was picking this up under the understandable expectation that this game would have been good considering the franchise history.

    2) Notice how they have to say "subcription-based"? Nearly all MMOs out there are NOT subscription-based. Congrats on being #1 in a nearly empty room Blizzard.

Hahahahaha, couldn't have said it better myself! >.<

Pritty much this. Also, playing a game for 15-19 hours isn't that big of a deal. Like someone already said, in WoW(tbc) I probly put in many many, 18-26 hour play sessions, just because I enjoy'd what i was playing. grats on Plvl 100 dude

posted a message on How good is CRIT build for Monk?
My monk is 600 resist, 30% crit chance 200% crit damage, 5k armor, 28000 dps. I started building crit chance/dmg onto him a couple days ago and it has HELPED ALOT. 5 days ago I was sitting at about 16000 dps. I am by no means rich and have probly only droped up to 20 mill on gear over the last month. I also noticed once I got my crit really high, attack speed here and there was giving me nice dps increase's also.

posted a message on Monk Damage Reduction Ability Question
I have questions about 2 of the damage reduction ability's Monks have. The ability's in question are....

    The passive Resolve-
Damage YOU deal reduces enemy damage by 25% for 2.5 seconds

    And

    Crippling Wave/Concussion Rune-
Enemy's hit by crippling wave inflict 20% less damage for 3 seconds.

    The specific questions are...

    1. Do these ability's affect damage delt to party members?
( This one seems rather simple and would apear to be YES)

    2. If you are in a party with 2 monks, with both monks using these ability's, DO they stack together??
( This one seems like it would be VERY OP if they did stack)

They both read like they COULD stack but it just seems WAY to OP to be true.

    Any thoughts?? Please and Thanks!

posted a message on Will farming with 0 MF totally gimp me?
I did a small test with a friend about this and he was really upset. We both ran the same solo act 1 farm routes, I wore my GF gear (230%) with about 50% MF that kinda just came as extra stats on the GF gear. My friend wore 250% MF gear. We both tore thru the same routes in the same amount of time and I got about 45 rares, my friend got 37. My pile of rares had 3-5 ilvl 63's while my friends pile had 1. One could easily say my friend just didnt get as many pack's or was just unlucky, but I like to think MF just isnt worth the effort. If you find peace's, sure, keep em, but DONT use it if it gimps your dps. The faster you can kill packs, the faster you can 5 stack NV and get that guranteed rare. Also mabey there is just a sweet spot with MF, where once you have way to much it just doesn't help as much as people would like to think it does.

TLDR: zero MF won't gimp your farming. Taking more than 10 seconds to kill packs WILL gimp your farming. AKA get sick dps, MELT packs, get loots faster.

P.S LoL'ing @ my friend who swore MF was worth it was priceless =D

i did a small test out of curiosity. i did the same farming route in act 1 with 197% and 91% magic find not counting NV. in each case i counted until each one had picked up 50 guaranteed rares.

the 197% had picked up a total of 148 rares. the 91% had picked up a total of 135 rares.

small sample? yes, but that doesn't make me feel any better about it. if this were to hold out over the course of thousands of runs i would say that gold find is more valuable than magic find. you should not sacrifice clearing speed for magic find.

I pritty much completely agree with this, In my GF gear i can clear pack's in about 30-60 seconds a pack an that is decent IMO. On my pack runs in my GF gear they take about an hour instead of 30 mins but I get double the gold. (1 run without GF 150k, with my 250% GF i get 300K) GF is WAY better in the long haul beacuse you can just have someone else find the item for you. Then you can buy it on the AH...

I'm not whining or moaning about anything lol, I'm farming loot at a pace that suits me, and i was trying to share that info with the OP. If i could post link's on this forum(soon i will be able to gata get more posts up) I would link you to the place where Lylirra says almost exactly word for word what I said. It's not BS. They DO NOT want you to haveta carry around a second set of gear..... Im not complaining about anything? But thank you for trying to attack me with you words. ALL im saying is that MF is NOT worth it. If you dont like that idea thats totaly fine....

    Edit:
It's MUCH MORE time efficient to stack gear without MF and really good stats(aka you over gearthe content) and then murder packs as fast as you can. Faster you can clear packs, the faster you can 5 stack, the faster you can get phat loots... the end.

I'm sorry; I thought you were the OP when I wrote that, my mistake (you can probably see why that would confuse me). Yes, of course it is optimal to find/buy awesome gear with MF, but that's not something you can just do, it takes time. For those like me who invest roughly 8 hours a week in the game I feel pretty good about being able to farm Act II at the moment, but it certainly takes me more than 10 seconds to kill most packs.

All good dood =D. I promise, especialy if you only playin 8hours a week, focus on getting better gear with no MF so you can progress thru inferno. Act 2 is a horrable place to farm loots. Your way better off going back to act 1, farming gear, and upgradeing till you can just go to act 3.

Well if almost every pack dropped a rare then these pieces would hardly be "rare" to begin with...

They are very much "hardly rare", and i know this is working as intended. Take advantage of it. If it takes you more than 10 seconds to kill a pack your not going fast enough.(aka drop bad stats and get GOOD STATS) Don't waist gold on getting MF either, If you find peace's that are decent keep them, I have full set of MF gear and GF gear. Blizz does NOT want you to be required to carry around a 2nd set of gear just to be "more efficient with drops". Lylirra has specificaly talked about it.

This is so full of BS I am almost at a loss for words. I was responding to what you said right here:

    Quote from akmrgreen

If I'm 5 stack NV some packs will drop 2-3 rares, but with 75 MF and no stacks there is slim to NO chance of a rare.....WTF blizz is all I have to say.

Really? Ten seconds? So you whine and moan about not being able to find upgrades and then proceed to tell us that no pack should take more than 10 seconds, which only is true if you are overgeared for the pack to begin with? Yeesh, what are you even complaining about at this point?

You say "MF isn't worth it", and then say "yes, I know MF works as intended and I get way more rares with it than without it". Seriously, are you having an argument with yourself here?

Im not saying at all that NV is working "Not as intended" I'm saying that MF as a stat on gear isn't worth it. Just my opinion tho, and people are more than welcome to keep stacking the MF on their gear.

Edit: When I wear my MF gear it takes to long to kill packs and im not makeing "good use" of my time. IMO. Mabey this has to do with my MF gear being sub-par. Packs do drop more loots! But if a pack takes me 1-3 minutes to kill that IS NOT a good use of time in game =D

You're interpreting "stacking MF" as "tanking DPS and survivability stats," which is exactly the opposite of what should be done.

"Stacking MF" means finding items with equivalent stats and MF (IE a better rolled item, where MF takes the place of something less useful, like damage on hit, or life per second, etc).

Your gear is probably not a great roll if you're sacrificing a bunch of stats for MF.

If I were to try and get gear with = stats to my non mf gear but + MF to them I would be spending millions on the AH. In mf gear it takes time to kill the packs(aka less packs over time= less loots) I think I'm interpreting it correctly... If a pack takes me 5-10 seconds in my dps/tank/survivability gear, I can clear WAY more packs in a smaller amount of time, = More rares.... It works for me just fine =D

hmm SO I have a question, IF MF doesn't help with the drop ilvl, does it take into account your MF upon identifying rare's? I only ask because, when i do my runs I ID all the rares at the end of the run. Could I put on the MF gear when I go to ID the rares and get better chances at better Affix's and stats?????????
