I just wanted to give a shout out to Robbie who really helped me out yesterday. He recommended I make a season 5 barb and he helped me level up to 120 paragon. I also got almost all of the gear I need for the whirlwind build! Thanks Robbie!

posted a message on Help me get back into Diablo 3 :)

    Hey guys,

I have been away from D3 for almost a year and would really like to get back into the game. I am paragon 428 and have great gear (at least back then it was) on my witch doctor, monk, and demon hunter. I have done greater rifts a couple of times and have not really played since around the first season.

I would really like help getting back into things. I am looking for someone who can give tips on how to get good gear and where to farm. I would prefer someone who has a mic and can talk on Skype or another chat service. Typing can be a pain especially considering how much I need to learn. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help!

You can message me here or add me in game. I will be online in a couple of hours and then will return tonight for a longer play session.

posted a message on Monk Upgrade advice!
Cantor has some great advice. If you want a big dps boost then I would try to get a crit mempo and a crit nat's ring. I would also replace the mainhand with a sword. Spears are nice but too slow. I know my advice isn't for cheap gear but from what I saw those were your weakest items. Good luck with the upgrade!

posted a message on What should i upgrade with 23m
Considering that you have no gear that gives you +max disc I would suggest getting a new quiver. I found a very nice upgrade that had 105 dex, 120 vit, +10 max disc, 8.0 crit chance, +9% elemental arrow damage, and a socket for 20 million. That was a few weeks ago so you can probably do much better now. If you really don't like disc then I would suggest getting rid of that mf ring. You should find one with dex, vit, crit chance, and crit damage. Good luck!

I got pretty lucky with a 2h bow with a socket and crit damage for 5 mil and 1.1k dps. It had no other significant stats, but it was a major increase in DPS. I think it is only possible to find these kind of cheap upgrades now because the market has been flooded with so much gear recently.
I think 2h bows are the best cheap upgrades in my opinion. You will do higher damage with the slow firing 2h crossbows, but if you don't have very high critical chance it doesn't matter anyways. Sharpshooter will help until you can afford some crit chance gear, but I think bows give great survivability using gloom because you can hit so many more times. I currently use a manticore, but it was only my second 2h crossbow after making the transition from bows.

posted a message on Demon Hunter Act 3 Inferno help
I definitely think that you need some resistance. I have about 400 resist all and 45k hp. I also do about 147K damage with sharpshooter and about 55K without it.(Don't have the cash to buy gear with critical chance right now so SS is a cheap alternative) I can solo up to act 4 inferno even though I still die on some difficult champ combinations.

I know that it will be expensive to upgrade your character, but it is impossible to survive in inferno without resist all and vitality. I got frustrated with the glass cannon build a long time ago and have been a tank hybrid ever since. I have about 44 discipline and that really helps too. Sorry for the bad news but I don't see any other way for you to survive in act 3 or higher.

posted a message on Why do I lose DPS when I equip this weapon? Bugged?
I go the 2h bow route myself. I prefer them not just because the crossbows are so ugly, but I think it is more effective to have a constant boost to damage than an inconsistent boost. You really need to find a bow with a socket, and I prefer using sharpshooter (cheaper than buying gear that has critical chance).

posted a message on WTS Perfect DH 2h Bow 172 DEX, 146 VIT, 97 CRIT DAMAGE!!!
I think 13 mil is great if you have someone willing to pay that. I think the dps is low to be paying that much and it could use a socket. I paid 15 mil for my bow and it has 1013 dps, a socket, the same stats as yours and fire damage. Great job getting so much when it is so hard to sell on the auction house right now!

Everyone has made some great points but there is one other thing people have left out. There are websites that sell gold for cash. There are lots of people who pay real money for gold and use it to upgrade their gear. You can make lots of money selling loot drops or reselling ah items, but impatient people find other ways.

One thing I notice is that you have a lot of wasted stats on your gear. I think you should replace the items with high intelligence and strength. They give you protections but you are only benefitting from 10% of their value.

posted a message on 50 mil to spend, what should I upgrade?
I don't know why nobody is asking how you made 50 million gold with a couple of days of farming? I think it would be great to share any farming tips you may have. I'm not able to make it to act 4 yet but the most I have ever made in one day was 500k from selling a legendary I found.

I agree with the previous poster that you have more than enough stats to make it through act 4 from what I have been reading. You should either wait for the patch to see what new types of gear become available or wait until you are able to sell it on the RMAH and make some cash!

Not bad for dps but you need to have more stats when you start buying more expensive bows.

wat. A weapon is the first thing you should spend millions on. You got an OK deal with the one you have. The next weapon you buy (whenever that may be) should be 1250-1300 DPS or more, possibly with a socket, so you're looking at 6-10 mil for your next upgrade.

Max discipline is helpful when you're gearing up, but becomes less helpful as you become more geared. When you're doing more damage, things die faster, so you need to rely on SS less. Keep the other quiver for a while and see if you find yourself needing to SS more than you're able to. If so, switch back to the discipline quiver.

I wasn't saying that he shouldn't spend millions on a weapon. What I meant was that he should look for a weapon with more than one stat when he upgrades next time. My bow has dex, vit, +dmg, and a socket. You want to get the most for your money when you are spending 2 mil+

The DPS is all that matters. If a bow has Dex, you factor that into your decision with the help of the spreadsheet. Sockets aren't required and are extremely expensive. The total DPS gain you get is important, how you get it is irrelevant. Whether it be extra stats on the bow, or raw damage, or a socket.

If you can afford it you should take advantage of getting a stat on a bow. I think it is a waste of money to spend 2+mil on a bow with only one or 2 stats. I agree that your overall DPS is all that matters, but you limit how much you can upgrade your character if you waste an opportunity on a better upgrade. If you don't get max discipline, for example, you can only make that stat up on your chest armor and quiver. I understand that bows are expensive, but I figured that if you are spending 6-10 mil as you suggested, why waste that on a bow with just one or two stats.

    Quote from sircuddles

You can farm and beat the game with 35K DPS. 30k probably doable as well. Below that, things probably get pretty difficult in some spots.

What build are you using to accomplish this? I have much more than 35K and I am having a hard time soloing act 3. Are you referring to a tank DH or the same glass cannon that most people are using?
