I know you probably don't want to hear this but I'd suggest you save up to at least 60m and buy a LS high end Skorn with high CD. LoH benefits 2 1hers mainly especially with your low APS, but the power of LS cannot be underestimated when you are over 100k dps, which you are.
You can find a 180 CD+ LS skorn for around 60m I believe, and that will put you in excellent shape for whatever you'd like to do.

There is no reason you need to change. That 2her is amazing and you certainly CAN do mp10 with it. In fact, with the new bell changes you may be better off with a 2h weapon of this caliber than 2 1hers.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary

I can appreciate the effort that goes into unique builds so I do not mean to be negative about this video, but it makes me want to make my own video as a response (though I likely won't because... well... that's work) because my version of a Lashing Tail Kick (I run scorpion sting) build has been working out very well and I have to say, this video was rather painfully slow (run speed-wise) to watch in comparison to my personal experiences with the new lashing tail kick.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I have a feeling that those who view this video will dismiss LTK as a gimmick but I can assure people that with some better gearing and spec management, it can become extremely powerful. I run overawe and fists of thunder with cyclone, but as you typically are using a 2her for LTK with the -LTK cost, tempest rush is a necessity for mobility and scorpion sting is great for locking down elites. I typically use exalted soul, guardian's path, and OWE as my passives, and with fists of thunder as a spirit generator, you can quickly find elites and destroy them with LTK.
I'd suggest adding tempest rush to your build at the very least for quicker runs, and dropping some of your spirit generating passives and skills as you tended to sit with full spirit most of the time in the video anyway.
Regardless of the criticisms I had, I enjoyed the video and hope you continue them.

Well, I've tried out my new build, and I have to say, it's quite fun.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I am able to stun elites/bosses about 75% of the time with lashing tail kick - scorpion sting (I sadly found hand of ytar lackluster in solo play, but it could be fun for groups) and I measured my new DPS on azmodan mp10 last night and measured about 850k dps average over several attempts. Not the best, but respectable.
It's quite fun to be playing around with a new build, though I found that even with the buffs, FoT and cyclone are still probably in the lead because of the insane proc rate for Cyclone and LoH. If they improved the proc rates of other skills, we would have more competition between what we can use.
The LTK spam can truly become a devastating force when my flying dragon procs though... which happens more often than one would think.
Sadly, I have to switch to some different gear for mp10 play though, pulling the dps down to 700k, but buffing resistances and hp to 1000 AR and 40k HP with 6 LS and 500 LoH. This set up makes me near un-killable though, even on mp10, so its hard to complain too much.

I plan on experimenting with a unique Lashing Tail Kick - Hand of Ytar or Scorpion's sting build.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I've gathered quite a few items in preparation for this change to the skill:
Flying Dragon with 6 LS 191 CD and -5 LTK
Mara's with 200 Dex, 40 CD, double resists and -5LTK
SoJ with 26% bonus to E, -5 LTK
and I may or may not use my crit Skull Grasp with -4 LTK, but I suspect I'll be hard pressed to abandon my Nat's ring.
I'd like to combine TR for mobility with LTK and some spirit regeneration passives and see just how well it works.
The weapon changes put me at around 90k dps (which is lower than I would have liked, but hopefully the speedy LTK spam will make up for it) and 950 res all for some good defensive and offensive combos. I'm looking forward to testing it tonight.

Posted in: Monk: The Inner SanctuaryQuote from Diavolo222^ This. Snapshot was never a problem and it was a good mechanic, that sadly got abused by people whom I dont want to even insult as they insult themselves by just existing.
It's a shame you insist on blaming the players instead of the developer for the game's poor mechanics. Players who used this method were cleverly making use of known properties of snapshot, which was a decision made by Blizzard. Snapshot was *always* a problem, until now.
Full disclosure: I used the gear-swapping method for a long time. In fact, I initially discovered it on my own without seeing it on the forums and thought I was brilliant for a while.
I will be happy to see these changes though, as it will improve build diversity, and gear swapping isn't exactly the most fun mechanic.

Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from GrabblerWhat could i say... if such a simple game is too complicated for you... Plus you don't even see reasons for their choice of economy... And huge difference between gems in PoE and runes in D3... I feel sorry for you.
It *definitely* cannot be called a simple game. It is possibly the most complex game I've played in years (not a bad thing in my opinion)
Not really necessary to attack and condescend to the man for his opinions. The guy leans more towards the simple D3 mechanics while those of us who enjoy complex theory-crafting and builds are enjoying PoE. To each their own.
I have a feeling there are a lot of people out there who don't want to have to search a Wiki page to figure out basic mechanics. The game for them is D3.
But the game for me right now is PoE until D3 steps up its' endgame.

My immediate reaction upon looking at your profile and your comment on limitless funds is that you should upgrade your gems. Vile ward is needed as well, as someone else said. You've got the wrong res on your current shoulders and you could do with far more dex on them.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
Your bracers look like the weakest link in your set. No vit and lower res. You can also get higher dex on them.
I'd also invest into a better amulet. If you have as much money as you say, you could get a trifecta or get some vit/res on it as well.
Your inna's chest also can get more vit.
Your EF could use a better +attack speed roll and damage, unless you want to go all out and get crit or LS on it.
Your offhand could be better. I found a similiar axe at 840 dps with 98% crit, socket, and 2.9 LS for 5m on the AH a week or two ago so for an unlimited budget, you can get more crit and way more damage.
Of course, you should take all of my upgrade suggestions with a grain of salt. The next patch will allow you to build strong items such as the amulet or bracers, but then again, because of that, "good" amulets are CHEAP right now.

Here's a fun little trick if you are having trouble keeping a target (like you mentioned with hand of Ytar, but it also works with other skills) :Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
Hold down shift (for most people, I rebound mine to space) to stand still while you attack and hold down your skill button. Your attacks follow your initial click regardless of where your cursor moves to afterwards.
This is particularly useful with thunderclap and a high attack speed. You actually move faster between enemies by holding down the stand still button than chasing enemies without it.

Thanks for the informative video! I really like your gearing suggestions and promptly went out and geared myself up in a litany and blackthornes. I went a different route from you though. I chose to stack double resists so I ended up with only 40k life but 950 res all.Posted in: Monk: The Inner Sanctuary
I also am incorporating a totally different spec into pvp. I have had a side hobby of watching flying dragon pricing for the past few months and found a -5 LTK cost, 6 LS, 191 CD, 1200 dmg one that I will be using in conjunction with my -5 LTK SoJ and my -5 LTK mara's neck.
The whole set up brings me to about 80k dps, 40k hp, 950 res all, 6 LS, -15 LTK cost, 500 LoH, 5k armor, and 800 Life Regen. Not to mention all the elite dmg reduction from the blackthorne set. I have about 1.5 attack speed with the flying dragon.
I plan on using hand of ytar with it's new double damage in conjunction with tempest rush to long range nuke enemies and be able to retreat easily. The hand of ytar slows movement significantly, so I'm hoping that helps lock down enemies.
I haven't tested this, so I'm curious to hear your commentary on it's viability.
