posted a message on is a skorn viable for monks?
In general, you want high Weapon damage % attacks like SSS. Tempest rush mobility is best for 2h builds as the spirit spent per second is equal to the attacks per second of your weapon. I don't personally use SSS but it can be quite good.

In my opinion, a tempest rush build with a 2her is the fastest farming method. 34% movement speed + tailwind speed and you can zoom between packs faster than a barbarian.

I use a skorn on my monk quite successfully. It is very good for my 150k tempest rush build, as you use less spirit.

A very similiar thing happened to me; A 1300 dps 530 dex / 140 vit / 199% crit skorn dropped for me so I decided to use my monk. I have no regrets, a well rolled skorn is fantastic.

Kuken, your set up is quite nice, though it seems you have the same issue that I do. Lack of vitality. I'd suggest trying to get some more stats on that amulet and bracers, and you can probably find Inna's items with more VIT on them.

I posted in this threat long long ago, and have completely changed my gear set since then. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/SolusCoda-1302/hero/13394076

I need to work on my vitality and resistances desperately, but this build is at least *extremely* efficient for mp1 farming. I just tempest rush between packs of monsters. My issue is surviving when I try to farm for keys on higher MP.

Everyone should be aware that upon transferring your character to PTR, you can actually check what your un-ID'ed items are on live and sell them while knowing they are horrible items. For this reason, I would suggest no one buy un-ID'ed items until this issue is fixed.

posted a message on Well, Level 10... Still No Legendary
I am at paragon level 17 and I have had 3 absolutely amazing legendary drops in less than a week after a long dry stint, so don't despair, it's very random. I got:

    1200 DPS Echoing Fury
1300 DPS Skorn: 199% crit dmg, socket, 540 dex, 150 vit
Vile Ward Shoulders: 280 dex, 300 armor, 300 life regen, 80 res all, 70 str and int

Diablogods seem to be telling me to focus on my monk.

I should add that I haven't been running with any MF besides the valor stacks.

Here is mine, it recently hit 60 (cuz stayin alive is hard). Any tips appreciated :D

You aren't bad for just hitting 60 but you need to work on building your chosen resistances + all res for OWE. Also, consider investing in crit and attack speed.

    Here's mine: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/soluscoda-1302/hero/13394076

I just started to gear up my monk after I got the weapon as a drop. So I know my gear is a bit shabby still.

    Quote from lospider

IMHO, the only acts worth farming are 3 and 4, because of the items' level. Am I right? Did you loot anything really interesting on act 2 (legendaries, 30kk items, etc.)?
    Thanks for the fast reply!

It really depends on your speed of farming. I can run super quickly through a VotA run with top MF and get tons of good items, I can do A3 with the same mf gear but much slower. I do not ever need to kill normal monsters in act 2, they just tickle me, but in act 3, I need to. If you can speedily farm elites on act 3 with full MF, you should.

I've gotten plenty of good ilvl 63 and such items from act 2, including this little gem I found this week:

I'd say it depends on which act you plan on farming and how much you care about paragon leveling. Leveling will be faster with your best gear. I'm a CM wizard, and I've invested in an MF set that allows me to quickly and safely farm act 2 with 250 MF, but for the best experience rate, I always go back to my main gear set and go to act 3.

posted a message on When they say godly weapon...
Thanks for the replies guys. I've decided that this drop is a sign from the diablogods and I've leveled my monk up to use it. Now to just get the supporting armor! Even with absolute crap armor this weapon nets 70k unbuffed dps on the character sheet. I'm playing with trying to make a tempest storm runspeed build. I hear 2hers are good for that.

Still not sure what the true worth of this weapon is. It has better stats (besides dps and life steal / loh) than even the weapons shown on the top end diabloprogress DPS monks. The Dex is an insane DPS boost.

If any of you have any suggestions or links for 2h builds / related threads, feel free to let me know!

Honkeystuff, Why would you necro-bump about 10 threads for no reason at all except to add to your post count? Makes you very suspicious, which is why I don't think I'll be clicking anything you link.

and you click the link, its usually crap, but I submit to you:

I found an item the other day that made me want to roll a monk.

I'm not sure how much this is worth, I haven't found many on the AH with stats as good.

Anyone have any ideas on it's worth?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this, if so, please move the thread to the correct location. Thanks!

Quite a useful and comprehensive guide. Thanks for your detailed post. I have to agree with almost all of it. I don't personally use teleport, but I also don't have enough arcane on crit to non-stop cast wicked wind, so I can see how it would work better.

Templar just rushes in and dies, the enchantress atleast gives you an armor buff and the 3% attack speed is nice when she's alive, granted that's not often.

Regarding LoH, nearly every spell triggers LoH, there's a detailed list about the coefficients of the procc on the us forums: http://us.battle.net...49154265?page=1 .

Armor buff seems to stay on when she's down?

The attack speed buff doesn't stay. Never checked the armor buff, just assumed it went away when she died along with the attack speed..

Wanted to add some clarification concerning the enchantress, which is my favorite follower. The attack speed buff is only active when she is alive, but the armor buff never disappears. Make sure to spec erosion for her as well.

With about a 500k investment, the Enchantress can become as or more powerful than a venom hydra, and unlike the hydra, she gives you buffs as well. Something to note is that all stats on followers are multiplied by 3.5 (or something like that... I think) on the follower, so invest in some high int blue rings and amulet (with some vit), then go search for a high dps / high int 2h blue weapon. No stat besides int and vit matters much. I spent about 500k on my follower and got her up to about 5k dps. With erosion, she can clear inferno packs of monsters without my help.

    Hope that helps.

edit : I also wanted to add that if you buy a cold damage weapon for them, your follower can snare the enemies with every hit. VERY useful.

posted a message on what kind of weapon stats am I looking for?
There are several stats you should be looking for when finding an upgrade for your wizard in the weapon department, besides better DPS of course:

#1 Sockets : Crit gems are one of the most powerful upgrades you can have when looking for a weapon. You can get up to 100% crit in a socket, though 70% is really the best you can do cheaply

#2 (if you have high crit) Arcane on Crit : Wands have the advantage of being fast, being a ranged weapon (if you click Arcane Orb while out of power, you will do 100% weapon damage with the wand, for example), and having this amazing stat. This only works if you have high crit, but the advantages of being able to spam high cost abilities improves your DPS far more than the number on your sheet can show.

#3 Intellect : Fairly obvious, Int is great in all cases for damage.

#4 Life on Hit : This really depends on what abilities you are using, some abilities have high life on hit coefficients, and this can help deal with reflect damage. Be warned though, this stat makes the weapons very expensive.

#5 Life on Kill : Many people underestimate the power of a few thousand life on Kill for sustaining your hp. This can save your life, and is deceptively powerful.

I hope that helps. Personally, I like the combo of having a socket, as well as critical damage natively on the weapon. But then again, I love my crit.

I'd suggest find more crit and armor. Using a MF set in act 3 is going to be very difficult, but very rewarding if you spend enough money on it
