And people need to stop shouting crafting mats have been nerfed. They just moved it to the spot where you get the shards as well, not after you've spent the shards. Route is the same, it's just different stops.
Partially correct. They did move the crafting mats to the RG, but then they randomized them. Many people are saying that they're seeing very few Veiled Crystal drops from RGs, but lots of white and blue mats.

Previously, 500 blood shards would get us 100 items, which would translate to 70-90ish veiled crystals, right? Well, the random distribution has changed this to where you, apparently, get overwhelmingly more white and blue mats than veiled crystals. In other words, they "moved" the mats to another source and then randomized. End result, we're getting a lot more white/blue mats and a lot less yellow mats.

These are not extremely rare, but there is a glitch still with the name of the object when it's unidentified. Since it's blank, it doesn't show up unless you mouse over it and then it shows [ ]. It's probably a good idea to have some sound on so that you hear the legendary notification and it's a good habit to move your mouse back and forth across the area the rift guardian died after you've picked everything up. All of mine (5~6) have been from RGs.
They are extremely rare, actually. Probably the rarest drop category in the game (or tied with legendary potion drops).
Sorry, I don't have a link to back it up, but I thought it was on the same level of rarity as the set pieces. It's definitely not as rare as something like Tasker and Theo, Wand of Woh, Furnace, etc, but it IS a TORMENT ONLY legendary for sure.
Class set items are among the most common items in the game. Indeed, if you find a glove, for instance, it's just as likely to be your class set glove as it is to be a Glad Gauntlet, Magefist or St. Archews (same drop chance). I've found at least 3+ full sets of Marauder's by now, another 3-4 full Shadows sets, and probably a full Natalya's set, but only 3-4 Ramalandi's Gifts. And that comparison is just between class set items and the Gifts. They are extremely uncommon.

Well, it's nice to be a part of a forum community again where the hate is strong. This should tide me over until my suspension expires. Thanks, guys!
Maybe you should think about not posting on the internet, if you can't avoid being a dick in your posts.

It probably helps explain why he's getting suspended on the Blizzard forums. Probably making multiple posts in multiple forums about the exact same subject and reposting every time one gets closed.

You don't get suspended for positive feedback, you get suspended for swearing, raging, and being an asshole.

Rifts and Shrine removal sounds like the kind of thing they'd do in a patch, not maintenance. So, unless they're patching tomorrow (which is entirely possible), I wouldn't count on any changes.

posted a message on SERIOUS Leapquake problems with barbarians. do NOT roll leapquake build.
    Quote from copealope

i think this game majorly lacks build diversity,

Here's the problem with that assessment:

Let's say a class has something like 20 potential builds that are Torment 6 viable. Let's say that 10 of those builds can get you to Grift level 35. Let's say that 2 of those builds can get to Grift level 40. Finally, let's say that only one of those builds can really handle Grift levels 41+.

Out of those 20 potential T6 builds, only 1 will get any attention and then we'll have people crying out, "lacks build diversity!" No, it doesn't lack build diversity. You just aren't willing to play any of the weaker builds, even though they're plenty strong. That's not a lack of build diversity. You can't expect every class to have a bunch of builds that are all just as capable as the others. The amount of balancing that would require is insane. Every minor change made to balance them would just break them even more. No class is ever going to have a ton of builds that can all handle the top grift levels and we really shouldn't expect that kind of thing.

my friend just started a wizard, got his firebird set in 4 day and is doing MORE damage then me. not complaining here but i think it seems kind of unfair seeing as to how i put hundreds of hours and sleepless nights into this and someone else whos a casual does more damage. wheres the logic there?
The logic there is that this is a game heavily influenced by RNG. My main DH has something like 400 hours put in and still hasn't gotten enough pieces for an M6 build. My seasonal DH, however, had an M6 build within 50 hours of gameplay. Don't look for logic in an RNG system.

I'm going to put this as simply as I can: Stop comparing yourself to other classes. Your barbarian is not a DH, so you shouldn't be concerned with how well DHs are doing in Grifts.

If other fellow barbarians are handling grift levels that you can't handle, then you need to figure out what they're doing differently. Grifts are meant to be competitive and competition requires strategies that aren't always fun. If the people on the leaderboards are avoiding elites, then you need to avoid elites if you want to be competitive. If you're not willing to do that, then you probably shouldn't worry about high-level grifts anymore, because you don't have the correct mindset to progress through them.

It sounds to me, OP, like you're simply frustrating yourself by comparing your position on the solo leaderboards to everyone else and thinking that it's not fair. Fairness doesn't come into this, only strategy. Either start thinking and playing strategically or quit worrying about it.

OP: If you want to do bounties, join a bounty community. Public games are a cesspool and I can't fathom why anyone would use them aside from extreme laziness (ie. "I want to click ONE button to get into my game, not TWO buttons!"

    Quote from gebby
Well that is dumb and entirely different than diminishing returns. If that were the case, every single stat has diminishing returns. The first point of strength will add a lot more to your total DPS than the last. going from 5->10% crit chance adds a lot more dps than 50->55%. Diminishing returns means something like: oh, after you reach 40% crit, every additional crit roll will only add 50% of what it actually says. i.e. if you have 40 crit and add a 6 crit roll on a ring or something, you will only go to 43.
That is the established definition of diminishing returns, yes. I guess some Diablo folk aren't used to playing other games that make use of the concept :P

posted a message on Unity - when is it really needed?
*sigh* Either I'm extremely unlucky, or I'm doing something seriously wrong. I'm currently sitting at about 6million toughness in my M6 gear. I guess I have bad luck with all resist? Anyway, I've been using Unity since I entered T6 and I still sometimes get screwed on levels 29-30+.

    I can't wait until I have 10m+ toughness :P

It's not the exploiters that make Blizzard nerf these things... it's the streamers. You want to be mad at someone for ruining the game for you? Blame the streamers. Blizzard wouldn't change things if streamers weren't advertising these problems to the world.

Do you really want to know what happened? What changed? You're probably not going to like it. Still want to know? Okay, here goes:

Cheating in Diablo 3 doesn't affect you. D3 is a coop game and cheating is only frowned upon in competitive games. Yes, I realize that some elements of Seasons are "competitive," but not in such a way that exploiting some XP gain by sitting in town is going to give you an unfair advantage.

Look at any online competitive game and you'll see that cheating is frowned upon and actioned whenever possible. Look at games like Counter-Strike or CoD and you'll see communities that are completely against cheating because it actually has a negative impact on their personal enjoyment of the game. Now let's compare that to Diablo 3.

In Diablo 3, you wouldn't even know that someone is cheating unless you were watching their stream. Wow, that really screws up the game for YOU, doesn't it? ... No, it doesn't.

That's what happened. I said you wouldn't like it.

TL;DR: Nothing has changed. Cheating is still frowned upon and cheaters still hide in the shadows... except on Diablo 3... because it doesn't affect anyone aside from themselves.
I really like this post and everything in it. Bans or resets in diablo type game are just silly to me. I bought the game, I should be able to play it in any way I want and so should everybody else.
As was stated above, since D3 was made by MMO devs with MMO features...what others do absolutely does affect everyone, even if they never join a game with another player.
Yeaaaah, no. Your whole "nerfs" post? Yeah, no. Anything that gets nerfed like that would've gotten nerfed at some point, anyway. Exploiters just point out the flaws in the game faster.

If those nerfs are affecting you, it means that you were using the "exploits," as well. "WTF? I can't do chest runs now because those EXPLOITERS were doing chest runs and got it nerfed!" You do realize that Diablo 3 is a farming game, right? So, why would you expect people to behave otherwise? So, it's not an exploit when you open a surface Resplendent chest, but it's an exploit when people go out specifically looking for and farming them? Even when farming is the entire point of Diablo 3? Do you see how silly that sounds? It really sounds like you're just mad because they got to do something and now you can't do it.

Tell me, how exactly did those using the recent Torment-6-Greater-Rift-XP exploit affect you? Were you sitting in town leaching xp? No? Then it doesn't affect you, does it? Those botters, botting chests and bosses and bounties... how do they affect you? The people who were farming the bugged Malthael XP, how did they affect you?

TL;DR: "I should be able to play any way I want to... but those 'EXPLOITERS' shouldn't be able to."

    Quote from Jamoose
I'm sorry but i stopped reading at "not using unity". If you want to get the maximum out of solo play you must use unity in my opinion. I really don't see how anyone could complain when they are not even fully utilizing what the game has to offer. It's like me not using bombardier's rucksack or something... It's just not viable, period.
I didn't stop reading at that point, but I definitely started skimming. If someone is opposed to using an intended and legitimate strategy like double-unity, then they're clearly not interested in competing on the leaderboards. You don't have to use exploits to be competitive, but you definitely do have to use every legitimate advantage you can get.

This "personal decision" is one of the things holding you back, OP. You will never have a chance of competing if you continue to hold yourself back. Good luck!
