It depends on your class.
Before the patch Inferno was broken for melee. To properly completely Inferno, melee depending on Ilevel63 gear. However, to farm that gear, they would need to farm Act III, or somehow come up with tens of millions of gold.
This became a massive problem for all the people who didn't rush. If you rushed, you were able to progress normally, for less money. The auction was flooded with gear from the two brokens classes (at the time, Demon Hunters and Wizards). However, since nobody knew what was good or bad, you could find amazing deals. This allowed the melee who rushed, to obtain there gear from the AH for fairly resonable prices. Melee was able to obtain there gear, because those who rushed sold Act I and Act II loot for huge prices, since virtually every player was not in Inferno yet. I was one of those lucky few who rushed, and was able to gear up my Barb a lot cheaper then many. While selling Act I and II gear to sub level 60's for huge money. Remember when 1000 DPS 2h went for 2 million? I do.
However those melee that DID NOT rush, were fucked. If you hit Inferno a week or two ago. There was virtually no way you could properly progress as melee. Loot you needed for Act III was NOT obtainable by normal means. Shitty shields are 5 million, blue rings are 500k a piece, weapons another 5+ milion. The AH became inflated to a huge degree.
So, Blizzard made the progression ramp a lot easier. I have no issue with this. I want everyone to be able to complete the game. It means a lot more people will be trading items and overall the experience will be more fun for more people.
Another thing Blizzard did, was just make it easier for melee, since the game was harder for melee then it was for ranged (except WD, WD are broken, garbage and need love from Blizz). The way you feel right now, is how many Demon Hunters and Wizards in HALF your gear felt before the patch. I know my Wizard easily steamrolled the game pre 1.0.3 in relatively crappy gear.
You also seem to not be accounting for the fact you have good gear. The game is meant to be easy for those who have good gear. The game was easy before 1.0.3 for those who had decent gear. Thats Diablo.

Alcovitch posted a message on How i farm my gear: ACT IV Treasure Gob farm!Good lord. He's using a macro for the gear swapping. It's not cheating and it's not going to get him banned. I can do the same thing by opening my Setpoint driver config and go to Macros and created one with many right click actions. Assign that to a button on my mouse and done.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

well that is something everyone can do who creates anything in the web or in real life. granted, in real life there are institutions trying to controll such things which is not really in place in the web.
But saying someone is scamming the people because he has the possibility is just plain stupid, do you have any proove at all that they are miss-using their system?
not all people are bad (granted, alot of them are)
Blizzard itself could potentially use the same methods to trick people on the AH / RMAH - so shall we all stop trading now because they might scam us?
Now from another point of view: My reason to go there is to either sell or buy new items. either way with this "scam" in tact all that happens is that he influences the ecconomy. so either prices go up or down, if they are still in my range which i find acceptable i will still buy/sell stuff. if they are not I won't
In the case the owner just buys your item for the price u want...well then you are happy because you sold the item for a good price - this would result into a huge increase of prices thought which would hurt the owner himselfe.
on a third note, i don't get why this scam needs "a constant stream of new vicitms"? Its a trading system, do people only do one trade and then they leave again? don't think so, all you need is an active community.
Scamming to the potential that everyone will leave because you broke your entire system (which will happen eventually because of the ecconomy breaking) also means that you can land one "big" shot after 9 years of work, boy this would need to be a hell lot of money if you ask me...don't think it would be worthwhile, not to mention legal consequences this might have.
and on the final note your country does exactly the same thing to control the ecconomy, so its not neccessarily a bad thing to "intervene" in the market as long as it benefits other people.
