I would like to also add.

Sometimes, its just better to be the bigger man and end the convo/argument because continuing will not yield you and the rest of the readers anything that hasn't been already discussed somewhere else. Sometimes you may be right - sometimes wrong but somethimes you just have to look past it and just move on. Some people's opinions are like dogma, and you will never change the way they fell.

    By design.

Without a monthly fee, each hour we spend using their server & bandwidth is a small slice into the $60 we paid for the game. Unless we're regularly using the RMAH with Blizzard getting its cut, they'd rather we quit since that would be more profitable for them.

I eat, sleep, and live cynicism but your post still makes me cringe.

    Does it hurt?

    I'm not a cynic, I'm a realist.

I also know how the business world works and how cutthroat it is. People make their fortunes at successful companies like Blizzard and either retire or move on to greener pastures. The fresh meat that replaces them has to prove themselves capable of filling those shoes.

So it's not about whether Blizzard is successful, it's about whether the new executive was able to shave a few million dollars off a budget, or make a few extra million with a new scheme. There's a phenomenon of ever-heightening goalposts within the culture of a successful company. If there wasn't, they wouldn't be successful. But it's a double-edged sword, as it eventually makes them start screwing their customers in the ever-present quest for bigger profits.

spoken like a true cynic *applauds*

Blizzard philosophy: 11 years to release the game, 2-5 years to perfect it, then release an expansion lol

Player philosophy: Complain and whine about various parts of the game and demand a change; complain and whine after changes have been made. Buy the expansion and continue to play the game for years.

Not trolling you, just thought we'd explore both sides to the story :)

posted a message on Needed changes to Demon hunter ferret companion
That is very true; I should have also posted on the official forums. That had totally slipped my mind because Diablofans has been my “go to” forum for anything Diablo 3 lol. I will make a post there too at my earliest convenience. Thanks for the reminder.

I thought this would be more of a general discussion because its bug/glitch related. Also, Bliz Devs don’t usually check anything other than General Discussion.

posted a message on Needed changes to Demon hunter ferret companion
I’ve been recently farming a lot with the ferret companion, but I’ve noticed a few things that are really getting on my nerves. I know the ferret is probably pretty low on the priority chart but here are some suggestions I hope Blizzard can implement.

Two changes I would like to see made to Demon Hunter’s ferret companion.
    1. Sometimes my ferret would run up to a pile of gold and just sit there for almost 5 seconds before it picks up the gold. Is this a glitch/bug? I can’t see a reason why this would be intentional.
    2. I got my ferret out for 2 reasons; earn more gold and spend less time picking up gold. I didn’t get the ferret out for its damage, so can we make picking up gold (within vicinity) a priority over attacking (especially goblins)?

posted a message on Looking to read a SOLID article written on pros and cons on DII vs. DIII
Let me give you a couple of quick points to hold you off till you find an unbiased article.

    1) Players complaining about D3 were mostly in there teens when they played D2. Somehow they are confused as to why in the hell D3 "seems less fun" than D2. YOU GREW OUT OF GAMES.

    2) Diablo 2 did not have amazing endgame, amazing items, lvl cap of 99, etc 2months after launch. Diablo 2 got and expansion and many years under its belt over D3 (not saying D3 is bad).

    3) Current technology allowed a LOT of problems to be fixed almost instantly; D2 still had many bugs long into its life.

    4) D2 seemed "easier" because it only had 3 difficulty levels. If D3 shipped with Hell as its max difficulty, it would seem just as "easy" as D2. Then people would be complaining about hitting the "brick wall" that is Inferno. Inferno adds a whole new "stuff to do endgame" that wasnt designed to be completed in 1-2 hours. Funny how people complain about not enough endgame while complaining about inferno being too hard while at the same time complaining about how D2 was easier... just wow, but I digress.

    5) D3 added a lot more ways to trade. Yes selling and item for 500k gold and then buying that item you needed for 500k gold is much like trading that first item you had for the item that you need; it just took minutes instead of days.

Just from the top of my head. Enjoy

posted a message on Players quitting after 1.0.3
1.0.3 hit me just like most of the community. I didnt like it very much because it had more nerfs than buffs (I think i can count the number of buffs on one hand). Of course, when you make changes there are always cry babys talking about quitting because things aren't going the way they planned. If quitting is your ultimatum then there is no stopping you, but I implore you gamers to try something new. Stop being so stubborn.

Diablo was never about 1 class/build fits all. Diablo was never about stacking a single attribute or looking for that "end game" item where everyone will eventually be wearing the exact same thing. Diablo has always been a reap-what-you-sow game and ultimately it all comes down to either time or luck. 1.0.3 balanced the game. That's right, no more belial power leveling, goblin hunting, botting, and stacking. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" If it wasn't for this patch, I would still be running a glass cannon DH with 12k HP, stacking everything into DEX and Atack Speed. If I were stubborn I would have probably quit as well, but we are humans. Humans learn to adapt to challenges, work around obsticles. If we didn't have that in our genes we would have died along with the dinosaurs.

Fellow gamers, open your eyes throw away your stubborness. Stop stacking attack speed (ridiculously over priced) and single attributes. This is not a one build game, play around with the thousands of possible combination of builds and gears available. Read the class forums and try out other peoples suggestions. ADAPT. Find your own builds to post! THIS is the fun that Diablo was designed upon.

I for one, am no longer "kiting" packs with the fear that even a droplet of elite sweat could kill my frail glass canon DH. Instead, I can now stand and tank them. Now there are much more possibilities to try.

    Have fun
