For anyone who is curious, go youtube kriparian's video on his budget barb, he took 440k's worth of gear finished act 1 and 2 inferno easilly and the last time i checked he was half way in act 3 (prob finished it now), although he is a hardcore gamer go look at the advice he gives for building a budget barb, he really does show you what gear to get cheaply and how to balance your stats with those cheap gear, hope the info helps :)

Yeah on the US servers, where everything is so cheap it costs less than a health potion
Wanna know what it's like on the EU realms, with 440k you're lucky if you can get a piece of bread
It's filled with kids posting everything at ridiculously high prices making it impossible for a newcomer to gear
I just spent all my gold, 5mil, to try and gear for act 2, ACT 2! not 3!
Guess what, after spending all that gold, trying 6 different builds, I still get one shotted and can't do jack shit
And another great thing, the items I bought I posted them for 1/4 of the price on the AH, no one wants even tho it's 1/4 of the price
This budget crap is only US shit, on the EU, don't have 100mil? Just uninstall, it's pointless. GG

So tl;dr: You bought bad gear for high prices and now whine.

I spend 2million and farm act 2 without dying @ EU. If you read some budget posts like this one, they might help you make better decisions. Or don't. And whine in threads that try to help you.

Too bad lying doesn't make you look like a moron, oh wait...
For your curiosity I bought the best 2H weapon from the AH that 1.5mil could offer, guess what, after seeing that it made no difference I put it up for 500k, guess what, no one has bought it for 3 days, 1.2k dps, 70+ crit damage 10% AS, strenght and some vitality, that's shit? Yeah it sure is and yet even tho it was for 1.5mil like all the crap that is up there it wont even sell for 1mil, or even 500k like I posted at it, enjoy talking shit and playing the EU server
Want to progress in the game without spending 100mil for gear, move the US servers, simple, where it's free of kids posting shitty gear for ridiculous price like yourself.
FYi the milliong gold challange by Zrave is with the US ah as he is ON THE US servers. Does not apply to EU at all cause of the retarded prices for the crap there is there.

I wouldn't recommend getting 2h weapons for a budget build, as those require you to have quite a bunch of gear to function. The sword and board approach is just a lot cheaper.

The million gold challenge is interesting because of his gear choices. He explains to you quite extensively how to look for cheap items. When I looked for similar items at Saturday, similar items were listed @EU for similar low prices.

As I get the feeling that you are trying to troll me, I don't want to argue with you any more.

    Quote from Amon86

I am a lil skeptical, but interested nonetheless. My tank barb has around 900 res all, 30% block, same HP, same armor (as the stats you stated) and gets absolutely wrecked in Act III. My DPS is MUCH lower than yours, but my problem wasnt dps, it was surviving for more than a few seconds. I assume this spec relies heavily on overpower(crushing advance) in combination with LoH plus cycling CD's like Leap(Iron Impact) and Ignore Pain(Iron Hide) to stay alive? I am not skeptical about the damage this spec does, I am sure its enough, I just dont see how you survive when I had better "survival" stats. Any more info would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Thats quite where I started. I had 65k hp, 1k resist all and 800LOH but only 1k dps. I couldn't farm anything and enrage eventually killed me.

Then I began to increase my dps. The idea is, that everything that could kill you, dies within the leap + ignore pain + leap = 15 (+ OP x2 = 23) sec where you are nearly invincible. I currently play with WotB for faster burst, but as dmg reflect seems to proc LOH, I might try swapping some gear and try this build to be more sustained. Also I hope this might help me with bad affix rolls in act 3. I am currently not able to farm act 3 efficiently. This is mostly because I wanted to test it with cheap items first, to be sure it works. I will upgrade my gear with 4.5kk in the next few days, this should make me farm act 3 efficiently and maybe even have some MF on it :) .

your stats and gear? i don't belive you.. as i just got bracers for 1.4mil which people brought on US for just 400k.. and 1.4mil was CHEAPEST one with same stats

I have 20k dps outfight, 50k hp 700 resist all.

You should be able to get bracers with 60str/vita, 50resist all and 3 % critchance for less than 100k. Scrap the idea of having huge pools of resist all on every piece, its just not worth it. I bet you looked for: 15% critdmg, 3% critchance 60 all resist. Thats a search everyone does so the prices are a complete joke.

I wont argue with you that items @US are cheaper. But 5kk are clearly enough for act 2, if you get good deals its even enough for act 3. If you watched the third million gold challenge, it contains lots of tips for cheap gear

to be honest, you can beat the entire game without any LOH.
You should need 40k dps and as much suriviability as you can get. Then burn mobs down with WotB and Jump, Ignore Pain, Jump (15sek godmode). This works with more dmg (the 2h way) or more survivability (the shield way). For dualwield, you need LOH and as you pointed out, the prices are a complete joke.

Exact builds can be found in other threads, but you will see that lots of barbs are doing fine without LOH.

    EDIT:
    Quote from captfrank

Try this build http://us.battle.net...SVXR!Vbc!acccaZ. You will increase your DPS by alot and your survibility by alot too.
This build works for me, but I can use offensive passives and prefer WotB over Charge.

Now I understand why there are so many conspiracy theories... You see something and in one moment, it goes BOOM and all pieces seem to fit together.

I found 2 lvl 60 legendaries, both were when grouping with people in high MF. I cant look up my playtime, but it should be around 200- 250h. Most of the time, I played with only 5NV and sometimes a low bonus (10-30%).

Would be pretty funny if it were true ^^

For clarification, a few times per day was overstated, it only happend the last 3 days that he found this many. So I corrected it to "at least once per day", which happens since 2 days after 1.0.3 hit servers. I did not know him before that, so I have no idea how lucky he was before.

    Quote from Alucard_Tnuoc

If i have free time, my barb is clearing act 1 with 325% MF, could maybe take down some numbers for you, unless you're using goblins specifically for this.

If you could tell me how many legendaries you found in how many hours played, you would help be a great deal with this thesis already.

Have another look here. Look at the Legendary row. Am I the only one who sees this?
I know one guy that is incrediby lucky with legendaries. He whispers me at least once per day, that he found new ones.
This guy has pretty huge MF.
Could MF scale incredibly well with the dropchances for legendaries?
I might be making up conspiracies here, but the only legendaries I found where when my whole group was wearing lots of mf gear...

    Great work :)

posted a message on Damage and Survivability Spreadsheet
    Quote from deathstalker1000

The belt modifiers to abilities like Frenzy is not a strait damage increase to ability its factored in after all other modifiers. So say you hit for 100k an have 10% Frenzy on belt you would then hit for 110k. I dont know the math for it but its possible to get an idea of what it translates into compared to str (yes rotation an usage factor into it also). Same for the modifers to other abilities. Most people would like an idea even if its a rough one on what you get from these abilities compared to other stats. Even setting on spreadsheet to state your rotation to get a more precise number. I am just posting what alot of people might find useful.
Maybe you misunderstood me. Look at this:
Lets say you do these numbers without the 10% more dmg to frenzy, then your numbers look like this:
First hit: 20k dmg, Second 10k dmg, Third crit 30k dmg.
    Total 60k dmg.

If you equip the 10% dmg piece, your dmg would look like this:
    22k dmg, 11k dmg, 33k dmg.
    Total 66k dmg.

As you can see, a 10% increase on every hit is a 10% increase on total dmg done.

Its perfectly possible to factor this in. But are you only using Frenzy as your sole dmg ability? No Revenge? No Whirlwind? If yes, then it might be easily possible. If no to any of these, your best bet is to guess how much of your dps will come from Frenzy, as this highly depends on playstyle.

    Quote from Voyle

I am so thoroughly confused... Can't you just put in belt 1 and belt 2, and see how much of a change between them they are and then if its more then 10%, for sure use belt 1, and if its less then 10% decide if its worth the frenzy damage?
You cant calculate this. The only help you could give him, is a box where he could put in how much %dmg he thinks he will get from such pieces.

The Barbarian belt modifiers to Bash,Cleave,Frenzy,Rend,Revenge,Weapons Throw
The Barbarian 2-hand modifiers Hammer of the Ancients,Overpower,Seismic Slam,Whirlwind
Also the Monk abilities for those monk players.
Would it be possible to add to the Relative Stat values or something along those lines so we can get an idea of what amount of dps they will add. Or what they are normalized to Str.
    Example. Belt 1: 200 Str 100 Vit 60 RAE = 2000 dps upgrade
    Belt 2: 100 Str 100 Vit 60 RAE 10% increased Frenzy Damage = ?
Also Damage increased by skills % add it to be modified with current equipped an possible switch.
Since with passive talent mace gets 10% crit were sword gets 15% damage. This way we can see the dps change based on weapon type when we are looking for upgrades.
If you only use Frenzy, then translate 10% more Frenzy Damage into 10% more Dmg. But there will be no way for the spreadsheet to know how often you actually use Frenzy. With the standard Revenge Frenzy build, I would guess it would increase your dmg by ~5%.

So your request cant be fulfilled. The only thing that he could do, is add a box where you can input flat %dmg increases. The guess how much this will actually be, is one you have to make yourself.

    Quote from Abadayos

    Hello all.

I have recently got my barbarian to level 60 and into Inferno (killed inferno diablo on my monk so I know how melee works...more or less). All is going well and I am enjoying him at present as a glass cannon build with 65k DPS. However I am wanting to transition out of being a glass cannon and into a more survivable character that can go around in act 3/4 and not have the worry about getting one shot by ranged mobs and such (Yes I am aware that if i get more DPS and life steal/LoH I can keep my self going, but deaths suck and I want to avoid it as much as possible, especially with the new repair costs and my bad luck with drops).

Now currently I have around 28k HP and my resists are shockingly low at 200-250 across the board. I DW axes and all that jazz.

Now with what I want to do (act 3/4 MF farming at a reasonable speed) what sort of stats should I be aiming for? 600-700 resist all roughly before shout? 40-60k HP? 30k+ DPS? and finally should I sword and board it or just go 2 weapons and mow stuff down?

I have been reading alot of threads about going pure DPS and others to go tank and yet more to go hybrid and I am just confused on which to go for both speed and survivability in acts 3/4 and if you have a link to a viablo spec would be great.

    Thanks

I survive crazy act 4 packs with 60k hp, 9k armor and 1k resist all BUFFED with a shield 37% Block 3700-4700 block value with defensive skills and passives and 1k LOH. I want to mention, that this involves me occasional standing in ground effects.

Please note that this is seen from the perspective of a tank, not a dd.

    Hope this helps.

First, let me thank you for your time to answer me.

I borrowed some dps items from a friend and are able to clear act 2 without any problems with 12k dps, 700 resit, 50k hp and revenge tank build. It just feels so tremendously slow... I kill champions in 45-90sec in act 2. But the moment I decrease my survivability further for more dps, some crazy affix combos kill me (firechains, vortex, arcane wasps for example).

    Quote from Woohaa56

    http://us.battle.net...VUkP!bZY!cZcZcZ
For champion packs if you pop WotB right before charging and dropping tornados you'll be surprised at how fast the pack will drop in HP. The only ability that i keep in there for emergencies is revenge. If for any reason i can't charge or have no fury and need to frenzy mobs i have revenge to help do damage and also give me HP since generating HP with a 2hander and LoH sucks.

I really like the idea behind this, as this wont rely on crit to function.
Does this still work, if there are only 3 mobs around?
How much dps do you have and how long does a champion pack take you?

    Quote from Woohaa56

Also, in regards to your questions. Every barb stacks str, and mainly duel wield barbs stack IAS as it was very viable to stack attack speed and LoH. Unfortunately they kind of nerfed attack speed if you haven't been paying attention and no attack speed has no effect on your secondary tremors as far as i'm aware.
Str is definitely sought after, but str itself does not make items expensive. So by thinking outside the box, it might be possible to buy good str gear with stats that are not sought after but work quite good. My first thought was IAS, as the fotm changed to Crit and Critdmg, so the prices for IAS should have decreased quite a bit. I didn't check the prices for this yet, it was only a spontaneous idea.
I know that IAS was nerfed. But the stat in itself was not changed at all, only the items were tuned down. So 20% IAS are still as valuable as 20% were prenerf, its only harder to obtain this amount.

Are there any other stats that might be disregarded?

    Hey,

I am currently switching from a tank build to a solo build. I hate this, but noone plays public any more :'(...

There seem to be some superior specs out there. All feature infinite zerker and sprint with ww glyph and battle rage with fury glyph. I know that those are strong, but as they are fotm, the prices skyrocket and it might get nerfed with the next patch. Also I am expecting nerfs to crit% / critdmg and LOH or at least their synergy with certain skills. So I don't want to aim for them only to scrap my gear later.
An alternative is the ranged build, but I did not roll a barb to be a mage.

Do you know any builds that feature none of the fotmness and are still competitive?

The current idea is stacking STR + Attack Speed. Did anyone try a build with this?
Also, do you know if the secondary tremors of Earthquake (Giants Stride) scale with Attack Speed?

    Thanks for your help :)

Trying to figure out whats better, getting like 5% more life steal or life on hit.
Please remember that Life Steal is nerfed by 80% in inferno.
Lets say you would hit 1 mob for 40000 dmg. This is multiplied by your life steal% / 5 (0,023 / 5). This should result in 184 dmg healed.

You would need absurd dps to make Life Steal somewhat competitive to LOH.
