As expected ... no trading replacement.

Everything will succeed or fail with this.

    increased drop rates, problem solved.

    This guy gets it.

On the contrary. No structured in game trading = dead in 2 weeks like console play.

    This is soon 2014, not 1997 ...

Only Jay made Company of Heroes and Warhammer: Dawn of War.

    2 blockbusters.

This guy is crawling from under a rock and deletes things before even thinking about it.

Asking on twitter a feedback as a joke can only come from a complete idiot.

First, Josh decided to remove the AH, then asks for feedback on trading.
But of course, it makes a lot of sense!!!

    Sarcasm fail?

After the removal of the AH, they're thinking of other ways to support trading, just more meaningful as opposed to a soulless, anti-social AH solution. it makes total sense, indeed. Sorry if you can't see that.

Anti-social AH solution? Oh i'm sorry. I'm sure all the adults want to have to deal with the 12 y/o kids/scammers/basement dwellers who are rejoicing the changes so they can go back to d2 system. It does make total sense, indeed.

Or wait it gets better. Removing AH before having come up with a replacement? Clearly top dev material.

Or.. EVEN better. Asking on twitter where you're limited to a few words? Twitter which barely anyone uses?Brilliant.

I couldn't have said it any better.

Console play dead as a rock ... 3 weeks after launch, PC play useless since AH's are in linger state and why play before loot 2.0 ... and then, the man in the lead, starts a feedback on ... twitter about trading with ... ONE liners...

Really, I defended and enjoyed this game so much, but this guy single handedly killed console play AND PC fun within 2 weeks.

I'll give him his tweet: "D3 without a controlled in game central trading system is dead in 3 weeks time. No matter what Loot table you make."

    Oops too long already.

    Idiot.

    Nice photo shop.

Why? Because of the word "fail" in the OP's post.

    It simply didn't happen.

posted a message on What level should I be when entering Act X on X Difficulty?
    I play 2 characters.

One HC and one SC with the same skill sets and I try to have 30% more health, dps, resistance etc on my HC.

Also trying to down the bigger boss fights first on the SC character.

A tip: every new Act brings in more challenging and lore hard hitting monsters.

So I test this first with the SC. The advantage of having a SC version is that you can go further with the SC if the HC dies.

I make it a point of honor to NOT BUY GEAR on the AH. I got me some Gems, but no weapons or any gear.

The gear drops are quite good when redoing crucial content for 5 - 6 times, so I am very in love with this HC PLAY.

Trying to stay around 4 to 5 levels above the normal challenges with the HC. SC version is lower and so if I can down everything witth he SC, I know I will be relatively safe.

Currently a Monk on lvl 42. I plan to have all 5 classes at 60 in HC.

Months ahead and never playing more than 1 hour a day. The other hour is for the main in Inferno and gathering mats to sell and craft.

posted a message on WoW goes f2p?!?
15% decline in 2 years time is not a steep decline though. There was not even a new expansion in that time.

That's an average of 0.6 % per month and the last 3 months that slight glide even stopped.

Since sw tor failed and GW2 is the last chance of even a remotely competition, Blizzard should be wise to keep the subscription club going.

A single game like GW2 will hardly do anyhting to long term WoW subscriptions. Timing is perfect for WoW with the MoP expansion.

As of October 2012 ... There is only the BIG VOID in competition so Blizzard has the complete monopoly on subscription based games for the next 2 years.

All Wow killers failed completely. So no competition makes this thread a non issue.

If you spent 450 hours playing the game that you find horrible, you are a complete retard.

I spent 300ish, and now am so burnt out I couldn't even do the wizard exploit for more than 5 minutes. So yes, I am a complete retard.

Play hardcore. It is a fabulous game played this way. The tension of not dying once is sometimes extreme.

Does Blizzard release player number stats? I'm not sure actually, I haven't seen any official statements. That to me means they are likely pretty embarrassed about the player base numbers. Regardless of if DIII is actually dead, it certainly isn't healthy.

With an estimate of 30% of the original Xfire sample playing after 10 weeks it simply follows the normal industry standards.

8 million copies sold by now.

That's a conservative guess or aound 2.5 million players .... Divided over just 3(!) three servers and AH !

If you wouldn't call one million active daily logging player PER AH not healthy.... How would you call all those economies on small capped single server MMO's then ? At ... 1 K active players per ser server per faction

You need to think one server wise per continent on this game. That is simply breath taking compared to single server MMo's where you get 200 servers with 2k per server. D3 has a local shop with a 1000 times more trading.

    See that picture now ?

It is also a question of huge numbers. 6.3 million sales first week alone, but the box sales of D3 showed a 30% increase after this initial launching week on VGchartz.

So 8 million sales is a conservative estimate up until now (and still topping PC sales charts).

Even if 90% would leave the game, the game will have a huge number -rather hardore fans- playing it.

    Now comes the Blizzard part:

    - d3 is integrated for free on BattleNet, no subs, continous support, pvp, ...
    - d3 does not require an attunement or gearscore to do content
    - d3 can be played solo
    - d3 is played ... On ONE server and ...ONE AH per continent.

That will make it the only on line game with a 800 K player central economy with the LOWEST estimate in % played.

Till now even the very fluid and closed limited player base of dXfire shows a 30% retention of player numbers 10 weeks after launch, so D3 is going to be played with at least 1 million players or above for a very long time.

The secret is in that huge number of sales and then take the most pessimistic % and the one central server per continent and you have a HUGE - even hardcore- player base on a Blizzard network...interacting within one global trading system.

    Awesome.

The OP did not think it through really.

Diablo 3 made me do something I didn't do for the last 6 years...

Not Logging into WoW on a daily basis.

    Now OP, this is EPIC.

No other game could hold my time for longer than a few hours (even board games)

But actually I am afraid D3 will keep me going playing more than WoW.

Reasons: Hardcore modes - AH play - and RMAH play - end game Inferno grinding.

1.04 in August, probably at the end of August.

1.1 in November with 3 types of Arena play.

2.0 and next expansion, around Apr 2014.

By then Diablo 3 and Blizzard All Stars will be the most played games on BattleNet.

BAS will have the same engine as D3 but will be lore balanced and pure e-sport.

I see millions and millions of players in both the advanced D3 and BAS.

I am cool with not liking something, and posting that. You guys aren't doing that - you're just jackasses abusing anonymity.

No one is abusing anonymity ... trolling the General Forums, for many, is now more fun than the game. And in the General Forum there is no anonymity, Bliz knows exactly who everyone is. A few negative comments here is nothing... it pales in comparison to the Train Wreck that is the General Forums.

I am impressed actually, because the Forum seems to keep picking up steam ... and patches like this add fuel to the fire

Bullshit, Diablo 3 is an excellent game. I don't care about those 200 anonymous haters. They just camp the forums and think they can mean anything.

In fact they have zero impact. The most hated games are also the most sold games: COD - WoW - Diablo 3.

Real life mouth to mouth talk and friends talk is a 1000 times more important than some anonymous trolls on the internet.

No one is going to buy or cancel a car because a troll said Ford sucks,.

Apparently some idiots don't know it yet.

    It is their life. Shrug.

    Better and better...

Waiting for the Gold trading in the RMAH and of course the HUGE pvp patch.

In the meantime dual leveling a Monk in both hardcore and softcore, so my main can rest until they sort the drop rates out.

Don't worry guys, Blizzard loves and takes the best care of Diablo. They always have, I mean no hacks or dupes in Diablo 1 - 2 so there def won't be a problem here either.

    Oh wait...

I really detest that childish oh wait comment, it is pure trolling.

You won't see ANY dupes and hacks on the items in Diablo 3 because everything is server controlled.

I even wonder if you even read the article: blizzard is like a fortress in security the guy stated. ... If the gold maffia says they simply break into fan sites to get the passwords and state that Blizzard simply can't be breached ...You still try to piss on the number one PC game developer.
