posted a message on IK Rend Bossfight

I'm starting to like the IK/Rend build as well for clearing the rift but unless you are lucky with the RG it's horrible painful ending to the GRift experience. More often than not I just stand there and watch the ancients and follower kill it, just charging and applying rend when it's of CD.

I cringe when selecting Unforgiving over some other passives, but might have to give it a try, as I really want it to work and feel happy instead of frustrated playing it!

Hi Drahque, amazing feat - well done!

I noticed you linked your build but from what I can see on the leaderboard (LB) you used different gear set up when you cleared the rift.

I'm not as good as you so I hope you don't mind me asking - because I don't understand if you went with the different set up because you felt it was better, or if the build is your 'ultimate set up' and you just don't have it yet.

    a few example:

Build: Ruthless, Berserker Rage, Boon, Rampage

LB: Ruthless, Nerves, Brawler, Boon, Rampage

    Head:

Build: Str, Socket, CHC, Skill: WW

    LB: Str, Socket, Vit, CHC

    Shoulder:

    Build: Str, AD, CDR, VIT

    LB: Str, AR, Vit, AD

Are these changes because it was laggy, because you found it better with a bigger HP pool, or didn't you have well rolled stuff like you mentioned in the build?

At the end I'd like to ask the standard question regarding % dmg on neck vs STR (ancient). Mostly I hear % is better, but I'm not sure if that is 'for you' - meaning a ultra high level paragon with thousand of STR already. Or if it's also the case for normal people that has like 4-5k less STR than you?

    Thanks and once again congratulations!

posted a message on Lightning monk tutorial video with 6 minute rift clear at end
    Great videos!

I was actually already following you on youtube before I saw you had a post here.
Keep up the good work and keep the Monk stuff coming, it's far between the nice/good ones these days!

Have you gotten around to try fire more? I'm fire specced now because those were the pieces that dropped for me and the DMG seems quite good.
(Though the lightning colors looks prettier! and I hope to convert one day!)

A few additional questions, just to pick your brain!

#Odyn son vs Thunderfury vs Won Khim Lau (all well rolled).

#Now that you are doing T4 comfertably, what do you feel you need to get into T6?

#Is it worth using Ring of Royal Grandeur instead of a better trifecta ring to get the 4PC bonus (+15% light dmg). Or do you feel the pieces are so good in themselves it's not worth the sacrifice of a better DPS ring and just get 4PC the old fashioned way instead?

#For party play do you stick with the same gear, or is it worth making a play for Inna's with the mantra bonuses? (Higher torments)

    Thanks again and good job!

posted a message on Your take on ladder-only items?
**Guys, forgive me I'm at work and for the first time like ever I'm not up to my ears in things that needs to be done. So writing this post was the only thing that made time go by for a little while*

Ladders are great, no!, ladders are fantastic! You get to start from scratch, get all the upgrades again (iso 1 per week like), you get to compete against your friends and bring it up each time you meet for a drink how you bash them on the ladder.

Blizzard of course want to incentivize people to play ladder because it adds longevity to the game, which buys them more time to make new content before people are fed up/decked out. So it's logical to assume that the ladder only items will be a bit cool. (Who would be thrilled with 'ladder blackthornes can roll +50 str compared to non ladder'). I'm thinking items like Cindercoat or something which allows you to make builds around them.

I think it's a shame to limit this to only to people playing ladders. Do you play ladder? No? Why would I care if you can get the same items as me on the ladder...

People say it's a choice but let's face it; when ladders are out most of your friends list will be in ladders so you can't play with them. All the guides on the forums on how to make an unstoppable death machine will be ladder guides which probably will include some fancy ladder item. So yeah, it's a choice but is it really?

When one season ends you get the new items on your no-ladder char! Of course, that's something but doesn't that mean there will start another ladder season with new items so you have to play ladder to get them too? So what will happen with @Nightglooms nephalem powerhouse which has conquered the prime evil and set fear of god into the angels themselves? It will wither and die like it was nothing.. those 2 years of late hours putting the evil back in the box means nothing.

Imagine how amazing it would have been if blizzard, who is much smarter than me, would manage to find a way you can play your current character in some sort of ladder/competition environment? That would be the best ever. Hard to find a good way, but it's 2014 - In japan they have robots that carry you around and go shop for you, don't tell me it can't be done.

Also, I'm pretty sure a lot of the people playing ladder will, after some time, find themselves in a situation where they have no/little gold, crappy gear and is number 70284 on the ladder, and will realize it sucks to not be on the char you have built for the last two years.

Shit. Another one: Also, even though I suck. I do like trying to min/max to the best of my ability. Getting those perfect rolls, if the roll is perfect, no man, lets go for the perfect secondary roll as well. Get some HP globe bonus or something and destroy that T6. With my rate of finding items though, I'm pretty sure my progress and goal will just be cancelled every time before I get there :( And who wants to play NL by then anyway, most likely I will have to delete NL chars just to keep on making ladder chars anyway.

    Gotta run!

    Quote from Elindorel

you don't realize the reason you can't keep up in a multiplayer game is because you lack movement skills not because of heavenly strength penalty right? It must be the case since heavenly strength is currently bugged and doesn't reduce your movements speed.
    You are wrong!

I think the penalty have to go as well.
I mean, logically I can see why there would be a penalty like if this was another game :)
Who really cares though if we can use 2h + shield and run just as fast as you. By the time the hammers are rolling you have killed everything anyway. :)
Even if it would be 'unfair' it doesnt ruin the game experience for other players. All it does it makes Crusaders, which is a cool class, frustrating to play with friends. And that goes against the spirit of Diablo!

posted a message on guess plot of next expansion [SPOILER about RoS]
It would be awsome to see the old bosses again like Duriel & Mephisto & Co.
    And

    Seeing how Tyrael see us in a different light at the end of RoS. A human heart that can be corrupted, too powerful etc;
Eventually I will find a way to kill that annoying prick guard in Act 3 with the last ballista thing. When I do I guess Imperius in his moral superiority thinks I'm gone 'all evil and shit' 'The nefffalemmm has turned on the humans!' and I will be chased up and down Sanctuary by angels. Thus I will spend the expansion fightning angels and possibly, out of convenience, team up a bit with Diablo before I kick his ass again too.

You say that the elite packs etc go down in a matter of seconds. Well it aint happening for me =) What are the crit numbers that you are getting from blessed hammer and justice? For me the hammer and justice crits around 2-3 sometimes up to 4 million and those numbers just seems to small, even when I atleast in my mind have some decent gear.

    Paragon Points

For Core, you should put points into Movement Speed until you reach your 10% movement speed cap. This means that if you have 0% Movement Speed in your gear, you should put 20 points into Movement Speed. If You have 12% Movement Speed, you should put no points at all into it, etc.

I'm sorry, but this is just wrong. This is a common miconception, but Heavenly Strength reads that it reduces your MAXIMUM movement speed by 15% not your movement speed. This means that you still cap your 25% movement speed from gear. The only instances of this actually impacting you would be in a rift or if you somehow got the gear necessary to reach to 105% maximum movement speed cap.
    Isn't it:
Max Movement speed cap for others: 125%
Max Movement speed penalty for HS: -15%
    =
Movement speed cap for Crusader with HS: 110%?

    Thus making his statement true.
His statement would only be true if heavenly strength read "your maximum movement speed FROM EQUIPMENT is reduced by 15%". Your maximum movement speed from gear and your maximum movement speed are two completely different things.

You misunderstood what I said. The maximum movement speed from gear and paragon points is a 25% increase. That is very different from your OVERALL maximum movement speed which is capped at 105%. Your overall movement speed is not capped at a 25% increase... That is impossible due to you being able to go over that through various means.

You run at 125% with a 25% movement speed increase. But with a 105% increase in movement speed you run at 205% which is the maximum movement speed (go into a rift and get the buff to test this out). That speed is getting reduced by 15% so instead of a 105% movement cap it's a 90%. So if you aren't at the maximum amount of movement speed you aren't being affected by heavenly strengths detrimental effect. This will only happen in rifts and some rare instances where you somehow got to the maximum movement speed.

I hope I elaborated enough for clarity. If you still don't understand feel free to ask and I will try better next time.
If it works that way it would be great.
There is though one thing I dont understand, I'm running around now and put 25% MS in paragon - even if I have 12% on boots - still my char details reads 110% movement speed and I run slower than my friends that only have 25% in paragon. Granted it reads 125% in the city but 'out in the field' it locks on 110%.

I might be crazy but I think the singel target damage is one of the strong aspects of this build.
Popping everything and watch the healt dissapear like the first beer on a friday afternoon.

I'm not the biggest fan of the long cooldowns but I guess no crusader can escape that problem...
Besides that, even if the skills used in this build is quite good, I do feel they are not the most exciting skills to use - with the exception of A.Champ.
I'd prefer more extravagant visual skills or more active skills etc but I guess you gotta pick what works.

@Kapsu: Even though provoke is sort of what makes the build - have you tried running Judgement with the +80% CC rune?
At least I liked it against all the kiting type of mobs that refuse to stand still and take some hammers in the face.

I'm hoping to find a 'Fate of the Fell' to see if the HF build is more fun than hammers.
As of switching to a 1-hander I have switched Bombardment to Judgment with the +80%CC rune. It works quite fine, but I would like my big Bombardment crits back to be perfectly fair. :(

Switching Provoke to Judgment would be sheer insanity, though. Switching Bombardment is good if you're running a 1-hander, or if you just happen to like it more. If I could have my 2-hander Bombardment damage I would absolutely use it over Judgment, though, but Thunderfury is too good.
Yeah.. bombardement specially with 'The Mortal Drama' really adds to the fun.
I've been hoping to find a Thunderfury myself to do some testing, glad to hear it's working well. I wasn't too convinced the procc would make up for it.

I spend most my time in Rifts and since the +25% buff to the legendary droprate I've been getting less legendaries than ever.
Of course it's probably just RNG but I can't remember encountering such a bad streak in a very long time.
I like to think that they hit the wrong button and did -25% instead of +25% =)
