posted a message on Dual wield build with short video.
I linked my build and spec in another thread earlier and thought I'd show it in game. I
was going to show 5 elite packs then azmodan. But the first pull I came too I think
shows off the potential and relevance of the spec so thats the only fight in the video,
one pack of phase beasts. This video is not to show that out I can out dps another build / spec. Just showin the build I'm currently using to farm super efficiently in act 3 without rerolling a barbarian.

I get caught completely with my pants down at half health and prep on cooldown by a pack
of elite phase beasts but with my current setup and some kiting skill I'm still able to
kill them. Had I had all my cooldowns this fight would have been completely trivial and
they never would've touched me. But that wouldn't be showing off the this spec/build
    either.
    .
Basically my philosophy is if something can one shot me in the game then I need more
defenses. With battle scars and health pot thats an instant 52k heal. Meaning even the
hardest hitting mobs in game will have to hit me three times for me to die. With my
current dmg if something is alive long enough to hit me three times then its basically me
    just making a mistake.

In the video I don't think I could have started the fight in much worse scenario. Yet I
didn't hesitate to fight them knowing that I could not be one shot. Knowing that you are
guaranteed a reset if they get a lucky hit or you play poorly changes the dynamic of many
fights and just leads to more "rewarding" experience when you know you've actually
battled your way out of something. Or you could just stack crit dmg and run sharpshooter
and lob a cluster arrow in there and feel accomplished, that doesn't work for me.

On a side note, 2h xbows with SS and crit dmg is severly broken, if you're still running
this you may want to think about maybe broadening your horizons I don't see this one
holding out much longer before they make a change.

Yeah my dex is pretty low. Thats one of the trade offs of getting crit/crit dmg gear. The gold for this build is pretty rediculous.

Heres my first attempt at cropping the pics of my gear and spec into one screen shot. This could be pretty bad, but here goes nothing.

Well looks like I managed to get everything in there but the dps. It's 76,100. Altthough that number means very little if next to nothing. Not sure why people even put their "dps" number in there anyways its a fairly trivial number unless you're compairing identical builds.

I'm dual wielding hand crossbows at 960 dps each 1.6 speed. I have 50.5 crit 304 crit dmg and 2.4 atk speed. I'm also at 61 k life with quite a bit of armor but with small resists due to the cost of adding resists to items these days. My char sheet says my dps is 76,100. I have watched all the streams from every demon hunter who did or still does stream. And I can tell your this, I clear every elite in act 3 faster than every single one of them I've watched. My bows arent even that great just have sockets with 100% crit dmg in them. Once your start criting at 50% rate for 304% dmg the dmg output ramps up insanely fast with just the slightest gear upgrade. When I upgrade a piece of gear if the dmg stat goes from 70k to 76k in game things die about 20% faster.

Disclaimer, I'm not saying I can kill all of the elite packs as fast as some of the glass cannon builds, but some of them I surely can. But one thing worth mentioning is the fact that I rarely die. Even elite phase beasts don't 1 shot me anymore, and I haven't skipped a pack of them in weeks. But overall i've yet to see another demon hunter who can clear all of act 3 in remotely the same amount of time as I do. Surely they are out there but theres not one of them as glass cannon that can do it consistently.

Edit: My dex is 1671, and if anyone wanted to know spec or want a screenshot or something I guess I could do that too, I'll be back on later tonight.

posted a message on 2H Bow vs Crossbow?
I've been experimenting with the 2 x hand crossbow builds the last couple of days. I've been using hungering arrow with rune that splits into 3 if it pierces and frost arrow. I've been using cull the weak instead of sharpshooter since my crit is 35%. I've found that replacing the second 1h crossbow with a dex and crit chance quiver to be superior to dual wielding identical 1h crossbows of any damage with double crit dmg emeralds. This could change at some break even point of course. Also if the quiver is 15% ias then then the attack speed remains identical. I have a 5% crit chance / 56% crit dmg 129 dex amulet that is surely compensating for the lack of 70% crit dmg gem gained from socketing the second bow. Now that I think about it though, i'm using blue bows with no stats such as dex or ias, only a socket. So with 2 1h crossbows with nice stats and a socket would likely surpass any quiver. Long story short it appears to me this build will never compete with the burst damage of a big filthy xbow but the build is much more fun to play. It also appears to be the most gear reliant build to realize its full potential.
