posted a message on Paladin & Amazon Confirmed According to this Insanely Accurate Leak
    Quote from Aerisot»

The leak got more wrong than it got right, so I would take it with a grain of salt honestly.

Blizzard mentioned that they had multiple classes set to come in at different points throughout the game's life, so it is possible they are waiting to see people's reactions towards certain classes.

I personally would love a holy inquisitor or a shadow user.

Umm... WTF are you talking about? The leak was 99% correct and the other 1% was future conjecture which may or may not happen. If this leak was a Mega Millions lottery ticket it would have hit all 5 numbers plus the golden ball.

posted a message on Ooops...microtransactions in D4 on top of expansions.

Gaming is moving to a "service" platform. This will be the new standard, even indie developers are adopting this model. It's not inherently bad, just that certain companies take it to the extreme and that has left a bad taste in many peoples mouths. I actually don't want the expansion model because that means very long periods of no new content, then a massive dump of it, followed by another drought. Microtransactions allow for constant updates that keep a game fresh; POE, Fortnite, etc.

Just look at how D3 was handled. They basically spent years "fixing" the game and when they felt it was in a good place it was essentially abandoned. Why? because they had no reoccurring revenue stream to justify dropping substantial content updates. The biggest thing we got was the Necro. Remember that game developers get paid on average $100k a year and there are often dozens or so maintaining a game. Just imagine the cost. It's not a smart or a sustaining business model to put millions in a game that generates no money for you.

I do think that D4 could go FTP and be successful but remember they have to answer to shareholders and they don't want to hear about the long road to profitability. They want sales numbers. Sad but look at what happened to HotS. Hearthstone was a side project, with a tiny team that blew up like the Hindenburg. D4 is massive in comparison; probably end up costing the company 100's of millions to produce and market.

As long as the game you love is being supported does it matter that they have cosmetic items for sale? Not to me.

posted a message on Paladin & Amazon Confirmed According to this Insanely Accurate Leak

"Paladin, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Amazon and Druid are planned for launch with more coming later. Blizzard wants people to feel like this is Diablo II all over again but in a completely new era of the franchise. Blizzard were also debating whether to include the Druid or Necromancer class at launch of Diablo IV. Blizzard decided put the Druid for launch of Diablo IV and Necromancer for later, since the Necromancer was released already for Diablo III."

The leak is over 4 months old at the time of this threads creation 11/6/2019

Besides the Necromancer these classes seem to be the most requested on the official forum (d3) so good news.

    What are your thoughts?

posted a message on 2018 in Review: The year that changed everything?

It's not just Blizzard that's changing. The entire AAA video game industry is imploding, with a few exceptions of course. I believe there is gonna be another crash like the one we had in '83. The signs are all there; lack of innovation, predatory monetization tactics, releasing incredibly buggy and unfinished products, Ivory tower syndrome, graphics and wow factor while game play takes a backseat, single serving gaming mentality (mobile gaming), alienation of core fan base and damaged reputations.

Companies that actually care to craft products of superb quality will come out of this ok, others are gonna fall far from grace (already happening). Indie and AA games will get the lions share of the "gamer" market in coming years. Indies are already on a massive upswing while AAA games are having increasingly poor numbers (there are a few that continue to grow and are exceptions).

This is just my honest opinion about things and in no way to be taken as facts. Research this on your own to come to your own conclusions.

After thousands of hours playing D3, all I can keep thinking about is how amazing it would be if they opened up modding for the community. Millions of Diablo fans creating content for the game they love and sharing it.
