Blizzard's "first person" job post isn't the only one that's raising a few eyebrows.

    Senior Game Design - Diablo

    http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/posting.html?id=160012H

    • Develop and create outlining story, lore, and gameplay for a core campaign.
    • Collaborate and ideate on the designs and documentation of locations within the world.
    • Implement scripted gameplay scenarios.
    • Write compelling NPC dialog and VO lines.
    • Mentor and supervise other content designers.

There you have it folks, Diablo isn't being left in the dark as many have said. Those that have been paying attention already came to the conclusion that Blizzard is hard at work toiling with something dank and evil. Whether you were disappointed with Blizzcon's Necromancer showing or happy to raise the dead, this is good news all around!

It might take some time to see the fruits of their labor but we can rest assured that the Prime Evils will bring Sanctuary into the darkness once more.

    Three new jobs posted: http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/company/careers/directory.html#region=Americas

Read the job descriptions for each one. This smells like an entirely new game and less and less of another expansion. Blizzard seems enthusiastic with their recruitment too; a good sign IMO.

    They are:

Senior User Interface Designer. Technical Artist, Rigging. User Interface Designer.

"for Diablo 3 and any future projects with the franchise"
    "for all Diablo games"
"to work on all things Diablo"
This doesn't really tell us *anything*. The fact that the UI Designer even gets to do some D3 work gets my hope up that they fix some of the horrible UI design decisions made in the past (I've pointed some out in my much-too-long wall of text I posted a while ago on the official forum).

I personally would hire all those people just to fix the stash tab (general implementation as well as the clumsy addition of a second page which is just terribly executed). Hopefully they'll make some small UI improvements in upcoming patches, nothing groundbreaking, just address some of the issues (also the fact that you need to do 100 clicks to change difficulty). After that, the job description tells them they continue working on whatever is up Blizzard's sleeve - could be D4, D2HD, D3X2, D3 mobile, or whatever-we-haven't-discussed-ye.
This has been the only job description that mentions Diablo 3 specifically; out of the 20 odd new jobs posted. New expac or new game? Either one is a win in my book.

There is going to be a few promising arpgs coming and if you can spend the time to learn how to build your own PC it can be substantially cheaper.

Look up lineage eternal and lost ark for a glimpse of some new arpgs coming out.

His thoughts echo mine in that I think Wyatt Cheng will be announced as new Game Director. He's A Diablo OG from way back in the Blizzard North days. I think this would be an excellent choice if he were to take the helm.

Looks like hiring for the new Diablo Project has finished. With that last job; Game Director, being filled as of today. I wonder if they will make an announcement soon to introduce the new head of Diablo or stay hushed until Blizzcon.

Whoever it is hopefully has a strong grasp on what makes Diablo such a good game/IP and tries to incorporate that essence into the new project.

    Hype for Blizzcon 2016

posted a message on What will happen at Blizzcon?

Well the last job available for the new Diablo project on Blizzard Careers is for the Game Director. This is the home stretch for their new team. In my mind they will have a little somethin' somethin' to show at Blizzcon. If not a build then concept art, direction of new game. You don't post over 15 new critical jobs for an expansion. This will be a entirely new game people.

Question is; will it be shown this year or not?

This is just opinion of course. Could be anything, but that's what I "think" is happening.

posted a message on diablo 4 concept is dark souls ??

i didnt liked his style. i totally respect what he do, but i just.. dont like. that leoric looks... wrong. like something asian or something.. i want a realistic diablo. i hope blizzard dont go asian style bullshit or I'll shit down my fathers throat.

His shading, proportions, movement, emotion, etc are amazing. Style is non issue. Blizzard will set the style and tone and he'll create in those parameters.

Well there used to be 8 job postings for Diablo on the Blizzard site, Now after Gamescom there are only 5. Maybe crunch mode for Blizzcon? We can hope.

Just my opinion, but the pure arpg genre is on the way out. The up and coming "heavy hitters" that people are super excited for (lost ark, albion online, lineage eternal to name a few) are all really different from each other and cater to different players but they all have one thing in common, they are hybrids. Lost Ark for example is mmo/aarpg. I think Blizzard knows this and that's why they are looking for a new Diablo team. They can blend genres really well as proven with Overwatch. They also take proven formulas and benchmark them to make them epic. I know Blizzard can do it, they just need to get clear on what they want to accomplish with this IP. Just the way I see things and is neither truth, fact, or anything to take to heart. Just an observation.

Maybe they're saving their cookies? Either way Blizzcon isn't too far off and that's another chance for Diablo. If nothing happens then well......

Isn't the real show tomorrow? This stream was basically a recap of already announced features coming to their games and it was a live stream of pre-recorded segments lol.
