Seems to me you are missing the simplest farming in the act.
The quest that sends you to kill the 3 wretched mothers (The last part of the first quest chain in tristam where the ghouls break through the barricade when you talk to the captain), followed by the one where you take Leah to the celler under the hut. You will face a minimum of 2 purples, along with at least 2 or 3 very easy yellows along the way. It takes about 6 minutes to clear both quests and you should have full bags in about 3 runs.
I prefer Chakram's in Group play to multi-shot. It keeps the down time to a minimum because it's cheaper as far as hatred goes and it's not instant and can hit the same mob more than once. So, spam Chakrams all over and watch the carnage. Soloing, it sucks when you get to champion packs or elites. Being able to dump your hatred fast with multi-shot is much more useful and then kite away while regenning hatred.
