Very good work, but im not sure why this was needed, MF was/is well understood from diablo II and is on several wikis containing the same information as you posted. Blizzard blue post confirmed that MF works the same in D3 as it does in D2.

Perhaps now I wont have to reiterate in threads that MF does not increase the chance of getting higher ilvl now tho.

You pretty much answered your own question.

Edit: It will also - if enough data gets collected - serve as a sample for computations. One thing I am hoping for is to compute the % increase for a random number of MF and then see if that increase is solid for other farming situations such as elites.
I did not make all this work to come and say "Hey look what I just figured". It is to back up the statements that are out there and as far as I know there is no graphical display of the effect of MF. The future plans for the research simply just tagged along.

Oh please dont misunderstand, it wasn't meant to come across as criticism of the work done. it's always very impressive to see people striving to understand and calculate things like this and put them into easily displayed/explained ways. Just more frustrated that people were sat debating what the information here backs up, which is the original way MF works is the same as DII as confirmed by blues.

more crit damage, 300-350% at least

    more crit

more int where you can get it, ensure your gems are the best ya can afford.

    300 - 350% Crit Damage at least?

Isn't 350% crit damage maxed out Crit Damage?

I believe 335% is the most you can have for a weapon/offhand setup.
    Weapon: 100 + 100 socket = 200
    Amulet: 65
    Ring: 34 (x2 rings)
    Gloves: 50

    Total: 383

Forget about IAS for the most part, you need to focus on crit and crit damage because they synergize so well by multiplying each other. Weapons with IAS are especially bad because IAS was nerfed over 50% (some items were nerfed more even though patch notes say 50%) but +dmg% wasn't nerfed so all of the top dmg weapons have +dmg%. The slight benefit that +IAS on a weapon gives when adding in your mojo damage range does not come close to making up for the dmg that a +dmg % roll gives. This applies to top end weapons of course, if you can only afford weapons that have the same listed dps and no other notable differences, then the one with the faster attack speed will be better. And use the WD spreadsheet of course... google if you don't know about it.

Your forgetting your natural base crit damage of 50%

getting to the 300-350 mark is relatively easy if you can pick up a crit wep with a socket, you can get 25 on rings and 35 gloves within reasonable price limits. im on 314% crit damage with 1 or two slightly lower than desirable pieces.

The hardest part is getting a wep with both high crit and a socket, i got lucky and picked up an amazing 1h at a bargin price before the crit boom.

But yea, the way to get to the higher dps numbers is to infalte it with crit and crit damage the 35% crit chance range is good enough, the crit damage ontop of that is what inflates it. Once you cant get the crit damage upgrades int starts to really inflate your damage due to the fact its being boosted even more by the very high crit damage.

Knowing blizz crit damage is in for a nerf soon too as it prob doesnt fit with their design philosophy

Anyone else here playing this? I couldn't sleep a few nights ago and found this on the app store and I have been hooked since!

Basically its a trading card game, you have 3 main stats which you upgrade (stamina/attack/def) this enables you to perform more actions. You don't need to buy anything you can earn all your cards just progressing through the game and using the free stuff.

You can upgrade your cards in level increasing their stats, and also their quality enhancing their stats even more! the game has events and guilds. Basically if you spend a lot of your time on the phone download it and give it a go I cant stop checking my phone all the time atm.

If anyone decides to give it a go use this referral code, it will give you 100k cash and a rare card for free, as well as throwing some my way.

    yls13212 - ref code.

Two main issues with wd atm are lack of spammable piercing attack and mana being the worst resource of all.

You are forced into gimmicky builds and need to buy gear with +mana/mana regen on, something other classes just dont need to do.

Got my WD 60 have 240 hours on him, gave up and made a wiz, same gear, better farmer, kites better, resources are better, has piercing attacks so stuff dies faster. (inferno diablo on both pre nerf)

Problem - everythign was hitting too hard, range could kite, melee had to stack resists to live and bliz also gave them a 30% less damage taken.

Result, melee could play when they finally farmed gear, range were simply glass cannon regardless.

Solution - nerf monster damage remove glass cannon viability push people towards survival

Overall result - melee with gear take no damage range can play the game "as intended"

Final solution - remove/lower melees natural 30% damage reduction.

What you are actually seeing is the result of blizzards poor design in the first place.

remove the 30% reduction... lol then we're back at square1 again :] Except that ranged doesn't do tons of damage anymore.

It's not like ppl can stand in 3 arcane beams while being desecrated and pummeled ^^

I said remove/reduce it's a scaling system which would need to be tested (preferably not by players for once)

The problem is with the current damage numbers if your a monk/barb who actually has good gear with decent resists/life returns you are basically a god. Range can get it about right atm but melee have gone the other way too much.

Actually magic find increase raw percentage of lvl 63 item drops, more yellow you get with magic find gives also more lvl 63 items, it will be seen in a long run, but still you will get more high lvl items with increased magic find percentage, cant calculate by how much tho

No it does not, read the magic find wiki, MF does not increase chance at higher item level, just the chance item is higher QUALITY, 2% chance of ilvl 63 in act 1 is always 2% chance even if you had 900% MF.

Do not spread misinformation please, MF works the same as it does in D2 this has been confirmed by a blue post and MF is well documented and understood from D2 just take the time to read up on it and how it works.

I thought that with 220mf the 2% chance became 6%+ am i missing something?

As the previous poster said the MF does not effect the item level that drops simply the quality of it, so the 2% chance at ilvl 63 is ALWAYS 2% chance regardless of mf. 5 stacks of valor ensure guaranteed 1 yellow item per champ pack/boss.

What mf does is increases the chance of an item being higher quality, So, said item has 2% chance of dropping ilvl63, which has a 30% chance of being yellow, with 200% mf, that item has 90% chance of being yellow.

    http://www.diablowiki.net/Magic_find

theres the link the the MF wiki, and a blue post previously also confirmed MF is working exactly the same as in d2.

posted a message on Hardcore inferno diablo world first?
Sat and watched the whole thing, found the actual kill to be very unimpressive.

Don't get me wrong clearing HC is a huge achi and something I will never do as i die far too much in SC, that said the lack of skill in the diablo kill was pretty embarassing, they just brute forced it with gear.

Krippi seemed to have no clue how to actually kite diablo, kept him well on screen, wasnt using seeker and thus keeping diablo on screen also doenst use hydra to its full kite potential.

Both krippi and kripp were running alonside walls resulting in teleports they could have avoided and had it not been for gear would have resulted in deaths.

Shadow phase, running from clones till despawn, well I think most of us believe that shall be hotfixed soon, surely that cant be intended?

Once again, a huge achi and grats, but severe lack of actual skill on the kill, I farm diablo on both my wiz and WD in SC, given that i dont outgear the encounter i actually had to learn and deal with the mechanics, watching those guys outgear and take everything in the face/cheesing just felt underwhelming.

Grats guys - now do it without taking such a beating :P

Wow players really QQ over the smallest things. I feel sorry for you OP

Indeed, I mean we complain because we expect features of the game to be fully functional and accessible at all times, what a bunch of assholes eh?

Look past your fanboyism of blizzard and realise that something like this is actually very poor indeed. After 10 years of wow and the money blizzard have, we should expect them to be able to provide stable services for features such as an AH without limiting it's use.
