This is what I've been running with. I've heard reports that Arcane Dynamo is bugged for channeled spells such that it only works on the first tick of the cast, and thus something else like Glass Cannon or Domination would be better if that is the case. With the Attack Speed of Electrocute: LB, Prodigy and Arcane Dynamo work very quickly to refill your AP and give you that damage boost.

    Awesome video

one question as you seem to be an experienced player maybe you can say what will be the most important changes for my Barb in patch tomorrow?

What are items changes to my current items except life leechs effectiveness being reduced?

Does Life on Kill still work nowmally?
I heard Crit is also nerfed?
Also which skills of ours got changed? I play a HotA Barb with Skorn and full IK currently.
    • The most important changes are that Battle Rage - Into the Fray, Berserker - Thrive on Chaos, and Whirlwind - Hurricane are all being significantly changed and the current Spin2Win playstyle for the Barb is going away as we know it. Apparently with some Legendary setups, Whirlwind - Wind Sear is still very good, but you'll want to pick and choose abilities based on your gear (%Elemental Skills rolls, amount of CHC, IAS, Life, etc.). No single build seems to stand out more from the rest without Legendary effects.
    • None of your items are changing. This simultaneously makes "Legacy" (the new term for pre-patch gear) gear both very good and very bad. Things like Legacy Mempo can roll IAS AND CHC, whereas new Mempos can only roll IAS, Quadfecta will almost cease to exist if you didn't already have one, and newer gear can roll upwards of 400 of a Primary stat (up from most rolling up to about 200).
    • LoK still functions as it always has, but play speed has been reduced such that LoK has become a stat that's "nice to have" (others will argue against it) as it will help refill your health after combat, rather than relying on spiky Lifesteal a la Wrath of the Lich King tanking.
    • Crit hasn't necessarily been nerfed, but the availability of it has gone down significantly. It's something you'll want to continue to aim for.
    • I noted above that our primary Spin2Win abilities are being drastically changed. Other than that, the majority of abilities haven't gotten anything more than a damage rework to bring everything in line. The biggest change would be Weapon Throw and Ancient Spear: Weapon Throw is now a Generator, and Ancient Spear no longer pulls in by default (Harpoon rune still has this functionality) and can do some pretty respectable damage. Seismic Slam has also gotten much better, and if you play HotA now, I would suggest trying out Slam when the servers go up.

posted a message on Reaper of Souls Highlights: New Visual Sets and Monster Affixes, DiabloFans Site Update Going Live Wednesday, PTR Might Be Comin
Am I the only one who thinks that the new gear tiers seem very hack-y in terms of originality? Monk T17 (Ascended), for example. The helm resembles Monk Sovereign mixed with Barbarian Archon. The shoulders look very much like Barbarian Sovereign. The boots also look like Monk Sovereign. The chest looks fairly unique, and the pants are fairly indistinguishable anyways.

Crusader T17 and T18, DH T17, WD T17 and T18, Wizard T18, and Barbarian T17 and T18 are all guilty, too. Some of the Crusader sets also look copy-pasted over from other classes (Monk Balor, DH Sovereign, Barb Doom). I'll be kind of disappointed if these (both offenders above) end up as the final versions.

Well keep in mind that XP rate will be increased too. High level items now give +exp bonuses and I assume the % exp bonuses are larger too on level 70 items.

Correct! Keep in mind, my math was simply off of current values for EXP, not what we may possibly see at level 70. If EXP were to increase threefold, that 227 days drastically falls off to 76 days played (1816 hours) - which for a lot of WoW players, is quite nothing.

Wow.....that is pretty insane. I just wonder how long it'll take someone to hit a level at 1000+.

    I'm totally ready for RoS!

Assuming 200M XP/HR (though Blizz will probably change XP rates on our way to 70), we're looking at 3632 hours, or 151 days played. Assuming you only play 2/3 of your day, and eat/sleep the rest, it'd realistically take someone at least 227 days to do it. Quite a ways down the line, in current XP rates.

Does it mean that if I'm Paragon LVL 100 today, when RoS will be released i will be more than Paragon 100? I'm comparing this to
    http://media.diablof.../patch/exp3.jpg

And 90pLVL now = around 100 pLVL new?

    PL100 now = PL116 RoS.
    PL90 = PL98 RoS.

I have a copy of this sheet where I'm calculating EXP Total, but I only know the XP values for PL1 and PL100 without doing the math. I might add another column showing the pre-change equivalent and share it here.

Those numbers don't line up... but as others have already pointed out, they're kinda moot point until we know what the XP-per-kill ratio is at 60 vs. 70.

This is what I have so far. 70-90 might be incorrect, but I did the math from P100's EXP (10,454,400,000) for 100-90. This also includes totals for multiple P100's, and running totals for EXP accumulated.

Edit: P1-P60 is normal. P61 is where each old PL begins to equal 2 new PL's.
    Edit2: P2k is 1,978,302,310,911, or 1.978T EXP. This is equal to 189 P100's + P53 in the current system.

posted a message on Gear check for a Shield/tank Monk
Correct me if I'm wrong, but last I knew a +XP% in your helmet only affect Bonus XP on gear (+X experience from enemy kills), and not base XP from killing mobs/from Paragon Levels. At level 60, Bonus XP is removed from gear, and you could make some easy Vit by throwing an Amethyst for +% Life in there instead.

Didn't blizz say they want LoH to get high enough for players so they can feel like they've broken the game?

Close, but no. They want Lifesteal (%Damage to Life) to be broken.

Games can be hard, yet still fun, challenging, and rewarding.

Having mobs straight-out one-shot players who aren't in full BiS gear that can be found in that Act or possibly a future Act is neither fun nor challenging, and definitely not rewarding. It's hard, and the cheap way out.

I've hit the Act 2 brick wall and I don't feel it's this way at all. I'm still having a ton of fun: sure, it's frustrating, but good frustrating. I know I can be a better player, I can get better gear. I know I can take steps to improve: I don't feel as though my progression is artifically blocked.

Just got to take the time to farm, hone your skills, and get better. it's hard: enjoy the challenge. :D

My idea of a good frustrating is a game like Dark Souls: where your success is laid in your skill. Gear makes only the difference in how fast you kill something, but any death is purely the fault of the player.

A game like this, where you can get swarmed by enemies, or a common complaint of a Wizard friend in Act 4: getting charged by off-screen mobs and straight out one-shot by them, is not. There's nothing fun about randomly dying to something you could have never seen coming.
