This is the same Fire build i see everywhere...

I wish there is anyone with some new idea(new build) other than Fire.
I think you should take a second look.

This build is not about Cluster arrow, it is about Bolas.

posted a message on Imminent Doom build
I wanted to share with you the build I have been using for some time, as well as some of my toughts on the demon hunter class.
    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/demon-hunter#WPSVdl!ZbfS!cccaZY

The reasoning behind this build :
Our hatred generators are weak compared to our hatred spenders.
Instead of trying to only use the hatred spender and being always starving for hatred, why not try to improve the generator ?
Besides, generator and spender need to be of the same element, because elemental damage if just too good to play without it.
Two ways to do that :
    - Kriedershot : I don't have one. I guess if I had one I would try using a lightning damage build with Impale as Hatred spender but it might be disappointing.
-Buriza-Do Kyanon + Emimei's Duffel : this is what my build is about.

    Explaination of the build :
Well, this is kind of self-explanatory.
    - Buriza-Do Kyanon allows you to place up to 3 Bolas with every Shot !
    - Emimei's Duffel makes all the explosions instant, so you don't have to wait to see if you got enough Critical Hit or if you need additional Bolas. In addition, you can get the Imminent Doom rune, which gives you 34% additional damage, without having to pay the price.
With a combination of those two items, your Hatred generator will obliterate clusters of mobs, doing up to 3*148% = 444% weapon damage to enemies close enough, and even 216% + 2*148% = 512% damage on the primary targets. Against single targets, it will still do a 216% weapon damage, which is not so bad.
The other skills and passive abilities are all oriented toward getting more mobility as damage is not an issue for T1 farming.

    Core items :
This build won't work without Buriza. Try to find a Buriza which allows to pierce 2 times rather than 1 for maximum efficiency.
    - Buriza-Do Kyanon
    - Emimei's Duffel

    Recommanded items :
    - Cindercoat
    - Magefist
    - Stone of Jordan
    - Fire Walkers
Sets items are of course very good, especially if you have the Ring of Royal Grandeur.
I would not recommand Andariel's VIsage, I think Pride's Fall may actually be much better.

Recommanded stats (from the more important to the less important):
    Helm : 750 Dex / Socket for 23% Life / 6% CC / 750 Vita
    Shoulders : 500 Dex / 500 Vita / 100 AR / 15% Life
    Amulet : 100 % CD / 10% CC / 20% Fire damage / 750 Dex
    Cloak : 3 Sockets / 500 Dex / 500 Vita / 18% (?) Life + 12 Max Discipline (+20% Fire damage and -30% Hatred cost if Cindercoat)
    Gloves : 10% CC / 750 Dex / 50% CD / 750 Vita (+20% Fire damage if Magefist)
    Bracers : 20% Fire damage / 6% CC / 500 Dex / 500 Vita
    Belt : 500 Dex / 500 Vita // 100 AR / 15 % Life
    Pants : 2 Sockets / 500 Dex / 500 Vita / 100 AR
    Ring 1 : 50% CD / 6% CC / 500 Dex / 500 Vita (20% Fire damage and 30% Damage against elites + 10 Max Discipline if Stone of Jordan)
    Ring 2 : 50% CD / 6% CC / 500 Dex / 500 Vita
    Boots : 500 Dex / 15% Damage on Cluster Arrow / 500 Vita / 100 AR
    Weapon : Socket / 750 Dex / 750 Vita
    Quiver : 10% CC / 750 Dex / 20% AS / 15% Damage on Cluster Arrow / 15% Life + 12 Max Discipline

    Stats you don't want :
Attack Speed : Looks good on the spreadsheet. However be careful, faster attack speed means that you spend your Hatred faster. You will only generate Hatred faster with your attacks but your Hatred from globes or passive regeneration will stay the same, and you will have less benefit from starting fights at full Hatred. Overall, you will then perform more primary than secondary attacks, so the benefit for this stat is actually far lower than what the tooltip says. Whatever, it cannot compete with any of the other stats damagewise. You could always pick attack speed over toughness, but additional toughness is never lost. With 10 million toughness, you can jump in the middle of everything, and this speeds up your farming quite a bit.
Move Speed : Don't get me wrong, Move Speed is great. But 12% Move Speed is just worth 120 Dex because you can get it from Paragon levels.
    Ressource cost reduction.
    Cooldown reduction.

    My gear :
    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Ulto-2301/hero/520316
I am still missing a Cindercoat and I want a better roll on my Buriza and my Quiver but I am quite happy with the rest of the items.
My DPS may seem low but I actually have +75% Fire damage and +40% damage against elites, which put me close to 1,450,000 DPS.

This has nothing to do with luck.

There used to be close to 50% chance to get a legendary from cache and it was changed to something closer to 5%.

What do they mean by short play sessions ?
You don't need more than 5 minutes to get 5 NV stacks.
The only reason you may want to play less then 10 minutes at a time would be to chain farm the same area, and it would be very boring.

There is plenty of solutions to make other acts worth doing.
One of them could be to offer an XP bonus for one randomly chosen act.
The bonus act would change every day and only be available for the first run of the act (sounds familiar ?).

I really wonder how they will manage to get PvP balanced.
Barbarians will have trouble getting fury in a PvP situation while DH will just need to wait and get it.
I hope in another month we will have a better idea !

Inna's legs can give you movespeed and you will probably have boots with movespeed too. Thus Lacunis are very poor compared to rare bracers.

Okey, nothing really about the gear but the build. But for skills:
Use either rocket storm or Drifting Shadow, if you want to use that no-brainer build. However multishot builds are generally more effective as they let you take +1 extra mp compared to strafe builds in speed-clears. Ofcourse you need to play with them but they are more effective.

    http://eu.battle.net...749/hero/140327
(Currently experimenting MP2 for maximum gain as MP1 was too trivial. MP2 however seems just as trivial so I'm considering moving to MP3 with the build and swap ferrets to bat or keep them as ferret if MP3 was still a cake-walk.)

Strafe build require a lot of optimization for both gear and skills.
You cannot just say that they are weaker if you did not play them the right way.
    About your gear :
    - Except for your gloves and boots, nothing seem to be worth more than 1 million in your gear, and still you manage to get for around 30 million worth of gems on your weapon.
With these 30 millions you could buy :
    - An amulet with 80% CD (and still more than 6% CC)
    - A 1200+ dps weapon with socket and more than 70% CD
    - Andariel's visage with socket
    - Inna's belt (with Vitality or All resists) and Inna's legs (with Armor or Vitality)
    - Maybe a quiver and a chest with maximum discipline on them
    - New shoulders (probably Vile ward with some Strength on them)

I am listening for suggestions as I don't know if major upgrades even exist for my current gear.

Don't forget Cull of the Weak if you are using a Cold SoJ.

Regarding Nightstalker you have to remember that it does proc based on Proc Coefficient. Skills with a 100% Proc Coefficient will proc Nighstalker with every critical hit, Strafe Demolition will proc Nighstalker with a 50% chance on critical hits.
That's true, however I see no way to include Cull of the Weak in my build as I already have Tactical Advantage and Vengeance and that Ballistics gives me more damage than Cull of the Weak would.
That might be debatable as Rockets do hit slowed targets as well and in that case would get the 15% bonus as well. One important thing to consider is that you get 4 strafe shots per second and 2 rockets per second. It very much depends on which passive allows you to 1 hit more enemies. If your damage is high enough to 1 hit most enemies without Cull of the Weak using your standard Strafe attack, Ballistics would be the better choice (it would allow rockets to 1 hit as well). If you would need Cull of the Weak for that, this would probably the better choice. With Demolition and a SoJ Cull of the Weak is a No Brainer though.
Are you sure about the figures you give for Night Stalker ?
I wonder if there is an hidden cooldown between two Nightstalker procs.
If there isn't the coefficient should not be higher than 5%
I did some tests about this. It looked that there would be a hidden cooldown but this only seems to apply to the Nightstalker animation. The animation will not pop up at the second crit hit. I then looked at discipline regeneration (using a 100% proc coefficient skill, attacking Azmodan while hovering my mouse over the discipline globe. Recorded it and watched the video in slow motion to make sure to disregard normal discipline regeneration) and you will actually get 1 discipline for every critical hit.
Ballistics gives you around 14.3% overall damage against single target and far more against multiple damage.
I would thus say that it is better than Cull the Weak which does not increase damage from first shot (at least I think so).

Besides, have you manage to find the proc chances of some abilities for Night Stalker ?
I would be interested to know.

Hey I will probably make some enemies here but I think Manticore is overrated.
Try to look for a good crossbow with some CD and a socket, and a high DPS (if you can get Dexterity it is even better).
Also you should upgrade your bracers as they seem to be much less valuable than the other pieces. Same for your chest.
Also a good mempo without CC is still better than Andariel's visage but it will cost around 20 millions.
I totally agree with Robb_Stark about the stats you want to find on the Inna's belt and legs.

Soj gives a lot of boosts :
    - 6% damage
    - Up to 30% damage on elite packs ( I don't have exact figure but I think at least 25% of your damage is done on elites)
    - Up to 7% crit
    - Maximum discipline
I think it gives more dps than any other ring.

Regarding Nightstalker I don't have the exact figures (I don't think anyone except Blizzard has them) but I doubt it gives mores than 0.2 disc/sec.
I usually get hatred issues while fighting small enemies that do not drop globes (like scorpions or fallens)

there is three options if you feel punishment is mandatory: your attackspeed is too high, your dmg is too low, or both. with the right setup you really dont need punishment and you can run drifting shadow on mp1 instead. i manage around 9min mp1 runs with drifting shadow which isnt so bad i think but i dont focus on plvling anymore anyways as i dont see the point in rushing it when im already at mfcap. also what perseu said is right. vault ta needs alot more disc than shadowpower runspeed at least if u dont have any ls or loh. shadowpower is superior in that way as itserves as our permadefense and our sprint all in one spell for 14 disc. not to mention as long as you are not interrupted strafing you only have to use a single shadowpower for a whole elitepack due to the way shadowpower works with channeled spells. i would just say overall strafe is very efficient both in resources and in the effort you as a player have to put in(you only need to press one button every 5 secs and plow through the map with one mousebutton pressed) also iirc i never said strafe was the fastest spec in the op, i just said its a funspec that makes leveling/farming much more bearable and i wanted to share it.
That's a very good point, I did not think you could perma life steal by continuously strafing.
Not to run out of hatred without punishment, I think you need a very high dps and most people who read this won't have enough gear for it.
Besides, do you really think Nightstalker has a significant impact on your discipline regeneration ?
I find it quite useless and I don't really see how getting high amount of CC can make a difference.
Also, have you considered using a soj ? It looks perfect on my demon hunter.

    After some further testing :
    - Rockets are cool , maybe better than demolition.
    - I sometimes run out of hatred without Punishment
    - Even with Vault and no night stalker I almost never run out of Discipline, and if I do I just have to stop vaulting for a while and it is ok.
