posted a message on Help with wepon upgrades pls! :)
If you're going to get an echoing fury, get it for your offhand and get it with an open socket and lifesteal. An 800 dps EF with .25 aps, lifesteal and a socket will only run you about 30-50 million depending.

Mainhand get the best OS/Str/CD mace that you can afford. With this setup you should only need about 15% attack speed to get to the 2.0 aps breakpoint on your rltw tornado ticks.

You'll notice that there is a point where weapons aren't worth the return until you get to a ridiculous amount of gold (about 50m to about 300m). If that is the case you might consider saving for a mempo, a really nice IK belt or Ice Climbers with movement speed... all of which are end game pieces for your barb.

Not a gear suggestion but I'd encourage you to try this build

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/barbarian#ahkQcR!YWh!cZZZaY

I was using your build (with rend instead of hota) but I've found that this is actually faster for me farming mp0-1 for xp. With animosity and unforgiving + your IK you shouldn't have any issues keeping rage up. You might even be able to drop Unforgiving for Ruthless.

    Something to consider anyway.

posted a message on Help Planning my Upgrades
Following up, I bought a new offhand dagger with native CD. Still waiting for prices on gems to come down.

I bought a new pair of gloves, lost a fair bit of EHP with the loss of Vit/res all but gained almost 10k dps from the single upgrade.

I have about 120m left to spend. I have a separate gear set with about 300 more res all for mp8 ubers and I've had no problems with them in our playgroup.

Any suggestions on where to go from here? I'm now at 105k unbuffed with 2.33 APS.

posted a message on Help Planning my Upgrades
Over the weekend I finally hit a lotto drop and am sitting on about 170m to upgrade my barb.

He's probably "mid" geared at this point but I want to know what my next couple of upgrades should be.

My goals are speed xp runs on mp0-1, I'm probably at about 15 minute Alk runs now but I never do the exact same run to prevent too much monotony. Survival really isn't a problem, its speed.

    My profile: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Dasidarius-1317/hero/20117663

I don't know when bnet will update it, I purchased an Echoing Fury with about 1100 dps/Str/socket and a meh offhand with lifesteal/str/socket. I don't know if I want to invest in a double CD offhand yet as I've been running a throwing/stun build for ubers.

I'm running a ww/rend build that I've found is faster than the standard double tornado.

I've considered going full IK but the chest doesn't seem like very good return on investment and I want to keep my farming set close to max mf. I'm at 247 with my follower right now. Ideally I could get another 40ish MF somewhere so that I'll be nearly capped but my amulet is a huge source of dps.

And yes, I'm working on getting a new hellfire roll... that one is garbage but it does the job.

posted a message on Looking for advice to get over the 100k hump
So I've done a bit of upgrading, and I feel like I'm almost to where I can go Archon.... not quite but I'm getting really close.

I'm currently at 89k fully buffed (88.9 technically).

    D3up:

    Battle.net
    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Dasidarius-1317/hero/1382891

A +20 avg damage 70 int crit/crit damage ring would add about 5k dps but would cost me a considerable amount of EHP. That upgrade will cost about 2m.

I know I could get another pair of bracers that would easily net me 6-8000 dps but the movement speed on lacunis is almost mandatory at this point (too much WW barbing).

Is there a slot (or slots) that pops out to any of you gurus that can get me to the point that I can archon comfortably in A3?

Thank you so much for your comments. This should greatly help me out.

Its painful, I'm very very close to being able to do a3 but the dps isn't there yet and I'm sure my EHP is on the lowish side.

Zuni might be a good way for me to start, I'm going to upgrade all of my gems tonight which is another cheap way to squeeze out a few thousand dps.

Hey guys, I recently leveled up a wizard to be my end game char. I have a barb that is getting close to MF cap, my farmer. I also have a DH but I'm not happy with the state of that class at the moment.

The wizard seems to be a heck of a lot of fun, I've linked my character below:

    http://us.battle.net...17/hero/1382891

With my current gear I can do act 1 and 2 easily with archon build. Obviously I haven't spent a ton of money yet. I think maybe 6m total. One of my friends has a lowish roll Skorn (300 int, 130 crit and 3400 life after kill) that I'll be getting tonight. Act 3 is doable but rough, I have enough dps but not enough def.

The truth is that I don't know what I'm doing. I was using disintegrate but I found that I was flying through AP and I wasn't generating enough crits to the benefit of CM. I switched to AO and it seems to be helping but I still feel like I'm spending too much time waiting for AP to regenerate.

I can go through sections where I never drop archon, but if I die (it happens as my gear still needs work) or run through an area with low mob density I might spend 45 seconds outside of Archon which isn't awesome.

Ultimately I want to have a facerolling kind of build, I like the wizard because of the defensive abilities that allow me to take some hits without kiting like an idiot. I just don't know where to go from here.

Edit: I have about 25m to spend at the moment, for what its worth.

posted a message on Simple Loot Solution
I have to completely and vehemently disagree with BoP items.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing something like the old torch system in D2 where if you spent enough time farming certain bosses you'd pick up keys to unlock "hardmode" bosses which would eventually lead to uber diablo that had a guaranteed chance to drop a legendary. Obviously charms were a terrible idea and I don't want them back... but at least you could conceivably progress towards something every gameplay session.

The real problem that I have with loot because they've gone and made primary stats SOOOO important, (so much more than d2) we're required to focus on having them on every piece (plus all resist on almost every piece... something we didn't have to worry about as much in d2 with capped resists.)

Without looking up the modifiers, I think most mods have between 5 and 10 levels on them. If there was a cut off for the modifier based upon ilvl of the item, say a ilvl 63 yellow can only roll str 5-10 (lets say 100-300) we could greatly increase the odds of finding your own upgrades. They could even weight the high end of the rolls against being selected in this case (lets say 40% of the time 5 gets selected, 25% 6, 15% 7, etc.)

As it sits now running with just over 200 mf a standard act 3 run will net a haul of about 2 full packs 61+ rares. Of that, I _might_ average finding a single item that is worth even trying to sell. This isn't compelling gameplay to me. I frequently ID rares and say to myself "man if it had one more modifier..." or "wow that would be pretty good if the rolls were slightly better" and then proceed to salvage my entire haul.

posted a message on You tell me not to swap - I spend 250mil on MF gear - you remove MF...i want to cry.
Did you even read the patch notes or the Paragon post?

The cap is 300 WITHOUT NV.

Even if you cap yourself at 300 with a few paragon levels you can stop swapping your weapon... then you can start stacking dps gear again after that.

All the while you're going to be getting the best possible drops, including new legendaries faster than literally anyone else.

    Profit, profit, profit.

    The sky isn't falling.

I spent about 150k on a similar weapon without the crit damage.

Best thing to do is check the AH and just search for 1 handers with reduced level req by 7. Most of them are way over priced (in the 1-2 mil range).

I wouldn't pay more than 200k for a reduced level req weapon, but with the crit damage you might be able to get a bit more than that.

posted a message on WW Barb looking for some guidance.
The reason that I swapped to OP with reflect damage was for elite packs with molten/charged/plagued.

Because my resists are a little on the low side still these packs tend to force me to kite more than I would like. OP with Crushing Advance allows me to WW around in them still and reflect damage back which in turn triggers LOH.

I was using WotB but found that there just aren't enough packs in act 1 to keep it up between cooldowns.

posted a message on WW Barb looking for some guidance.
So my barb hit 60 on Friday and I've got a weekend of farming in at this point.

I'm ready to put some more effort into this guy and build and I'm looking for some advice from more knowledgeable Barbs.

My gear and stats are below.

    http://i45.tinypic.com/mcdz0n.png

    and my current build

    http://us.battle.net...UQki!ZbY!cZZbcY

I don't have a lot of money invested in this build yet. I think about 4m so far, not including the gems. I found act 1 to be a cake walk with this gear and it was an absolute blast to play.

My ultimate goal is act 3 farming with relative ease. I know the build can do it, and I personally can do it on my DH but its tedious and frustrating... doesn't feel like Diablo should.

I'm looking for some advice on an upgrade path for the next couple of purchases. I feel like my resistances are low to very low for act 2 and my armor could use some TLC.

If this was your char what would you do? Where should I go first?

I'm still learning the way of the Barb.
