Thanks for those who checked it out. Don't have as much time as I'd hoped for tonight, but just wanted to get it started. Will look to improve upon the content/presentation as we go. Should be streaming at various points tomorrow.

Decided to start streaming a bit of D3. Haven't streamed in a really long time, but I think I've worked out the settings. Will try to stream fairly often if people become interested and I will begin to do more than just farm (ie. pony cloud giveaways, odd builds, speed runs, etc.).

Can also be used as a root if you land it directly on a mob.

posted a message on Annoying Act II Inferno Drop Problem
Having an annoying issue. I've killed 5-stack Belial inferno numerous times without too much difficulty. I can do these runs consistently, although it is a little slower than farming Butcher obviously.

However, my big problem seems to be that the drops in Act II and/or from Belial runs are terrible.

When I do Butcher runs I typically end up with 9-14 rares per run. After a few runs I ID everything and even though most of it is garbage, I can typically earn 500k-1mil per day easy from these runs, more if a great ring/amulet drop.

In Act II I seem to get FAR less rares. I obviously get 2-3 from Belial, but there have been runs where those were the ONLY rares that dropped... and they are usually terrible. I WANT to farm Act II because of the potential for better drops, but it just seems like farming Act I for gold is much more efficient. It's not just that the Act II drops have been mediocre so far, it's that I get probably 1/3 of the rares I get in Act I. Unless something drops that is a great upgrade for me, I'm going to make a bunch more gold selling off Butcher rares due to sheer quantity.

Has anyone else run into the same problem? If so, what did you end up doing?

Just not sure what to farm right now.

posted a message on Patch next week - Feeling optimistic?
Meh, the difficulty is what I expected and I'm happy I chose a Barb. It's annoying that other classes made progress quicker, but that really doesn't affect me personally. My time was best spent farming like crazy and I noticed a dramatic difficulty decline in Act II after I thoroughly upgraded my stats in Act I. I'm in the process of repeating for Act III, which is exactly what I wanted out of the game.

I'm having a good time and enjoy the challenge. I like how impactful gear upgrades feel. If other classes aren't experiencing the same difficulty then that's unfortunate, but I'm still happy with the tuning for Barbs.

IMO, you need to sacrifice some HP for damage and/or resists.

I got around to finishing Act II earlier today and it wasn't too difficult, killed Belial on second try and then farmed him with 5 stacks four or five times afterward.

Running with 44k HP, similar armor to you, 650-800 resists (shouted), and 13.5k DPS with 1H/shield. I generally have enough defense to pop WoTB (39k DPS) and nuke down part of a champ/elite pack depending on mods. Sometimes I will kite until it comes up again, but many mobs are easy enough to work down with standard 5-stack Frenzy DPS.

Basically, I'd advise dropping some HP in order to improve your mitigation. Revenge will still help/save you in Act II, but you're far more likely to die straight through it if your large HP pool is taking huge, poorly mitigated hits. I'd also see about improving your damage, which is often as easy as getting a weapon upgrade.

I honestly don't find Belial all that tough compared to some of the packs you must kill to get the five stacks. Ended up killing him on my second inferno attempt and had him on farm right after.

    High DPS
    IAS
    Life on Hit

Those are my ideals for a 1H, as well as some VIT/STR.
