The only time being able to buy power for money is a problem is when that power isn't obtainable w/o any use of real life money. In D3 you can get everything in the game from playing the game. Even if there's an item on the Real money auction house you can sell items or gold to get currency for it. Believe it or not money doesn't magically appear out of nowhere. If people want to spend money that they had to work for in real life to get something in game then let them. If you don't like the Real Money Auction House don't use it. No one is forcing you to. You will be able to kill inferno diablo without it if you have any skill. You will be able to be very competitive in PvP without it if you have skill.
This happened to me and my friends recently. I was in a game with one of my friends (so 2 total players) and he noticed it only said 1/4 players in game. He then joined along with 2 more friends and we had 5 in the party for a bit :/
