It doesn't matter how many safeguards you have. If there was a lock on the item in addition to a popup a careless person would still just blindly unlock it without looking. You can't really protect anything against being careless. If you're trying to do something fast accidents will happen. I know it sucks to make a mistake like that but in the end it's your friends fault for not paying attention to what they were doing.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

If you can't be bothered to dump the items you don't want salvaged into the stash beforehand, and then blindly confirming all salvages then its your own fault for being stupid and careless. Sorry.

Keep in mind that moster abilities is everything in this game. Act 1 monsters are generally slower and less aggressive than the ones encountered in further acts. Same goes for bosses - some are just harder than others and that has little to do with their level and everything to do with their abilitiesPosted in: Barbarian: Bastion's Keep

It is the same thing as when they buffed the rares, everyone went crazy farming the first week or so, but then people noticed that all that was awesome before is now crap. All it did was giving new lvl 60s a boost into inferno, since awesome items went cheap on AH.
No it isn't. You have to take into account how this relates to difficulty.
As of 1.0.4 amassing gear that allows you to smoothly cruise through acts 3 and 4 takes a really long time. Even getting gear that makes it possible to complete inferno takes quite a while. People who play more casually see legendaries drop quire rarely and if you factor in ilvl50 drops we really have little incentive to play.
The game simply stops being rewarding if you don't want to or don't have the time to break through walls that separate certain points in the game.
With the coming QOL changes (mostly drop rates and monster level) it seems like this problem should recede. People like myself should have access to a larger variety of items which will hopefully add to the fun of the game. The difficulty curve should be smoother and I really hope I'll start finding things which will maybe encourage me to level a WD or try some funky build. All that without having to buy top end items off the AH.

Personally I have a problem with how often legendary items drop. Running at 200% MF (with full stacks) I get 1 decent rare drop per run (60-90 minutes), which is totally acceptable, but a legendary drops for me like every fourth session. And it still might be crap because I might get 'lucky' on a level 50-something item. It's so frustrating, farming for hours to finally see that orange label on the ground only to discover it's another cindercloak or giant skull. It makes you want to throw your hands in the air and go play something else.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Same here, tho after 350 hours sunk in I'm beginning to consider moving away for a while, maybe until patch 1.1. I still enjoy the game and the recent fixes are making the game better and better, but the reward to playtime ratio is finally starting to wear me down. The perspective of sinking another evening of farming only to end up finding another cindercloak (got 3 already) or a different weak legendary is just not fun. And there isn't much to do besides that, leveling another character feels too much like a chore especially now with the paragon system in place.Quote from KraiseKrAddiction

I agree that you should not earn any achievements if you are resurrected after the fight, but other than that it might be difficult to fix this issue. Awarding achievements only to characters that did not die during a boss fight might be a bit harsh since it doesn't matter for some achievements that much. A good solution would be to mark more achievements as single player only (some already are).Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
However your idea of rolling back challenge achievements is outrageous to say the least. Achievements are just that - they don't earn you anything substantial in game, they're not your resume or anything like that. They're just there to add some variety and set optional goals to meet. I can understand that you feel you got your achievement cheaply and would like to earn it the proper way, but proposing to roll back everyone's achievement because you don't like the way you earned yours is just rude.
Achievements are not a competition even if you chose to treat them this way. You are not in any way affected by how anyone else earned their achievements. If there are shortcuts to earning some then you can choose to go that way or not - it's up to you. Blizzard should be made aware of these so they can fix them, but other than that people should not be punished in any way for cutting corners on their achievements if it is allowed by the game mechanics. It would be a different matter if there was some sort of exploit involved, but even then a server wide wipe of anything is a dick move if there isn't a way of doing it selectively to people who deserve it.
Still, it would be cool if they added some more challenging or interesting achievements, they provide a great alternative from the usual farming runs
