    Quote from Zero(pS)

The problem of a developer blog is, despite how spot on it is on changes, and how welcome they are, it will always generate a reaction from the fan base, the forums are going to be full of people whining about how the changes are "going to ruin this already failing game", or how "the old D2 team was better", yada yada yada.

So essentially by providing the real fans with a service they're shooting themselves in the foot at the same time. It has happened dozens of times on WoW and SC2 before, and they know it's going to happen in Diablo 3.

Now I'm not saying because of that they shouldn't release a developer blog, I'm juts saying they are probably holding it back until their internal testing is 110% sure of the changes being made, because a lot of Blizzard fans have the "you promised me this feature where the eff is it" attitude. And they also have to deal with a couple weeks of backlash on the forums (which also creates a mess for real fans who are actually playing and enjoying the game).

You keep posting this same sentiment, and while I can see your point of view. I whole heartedly disagree with it.

If you publish something as a developer, and it is useful, intelligent and true. People jump on board, praise the work you have done, and if you allow it, contribute to making it better. As a web developer who releases code to the public this is how it works.

If I publish something, buggy, half thought out, hard to use and then tote it as awesome and 'working as intended', yeah I'm going to cop a beating on the comments and emails. That's life.

Do what you say you are going to do, do it well, or don't bother...

voted yes, even though i probably still put 20 - 30 hrs a week into it. Some little piece of me believes this game will succeed, eventually. But yeah it is boring, you can only 'unwrap so many gifts' before you start feeling like Santa clause is deliberately fucking with you, and your excitement turns to annoyance and boredom..

... or are you seriously trying to argue that Blizzard intented D3 to be a 1000-hour timesink and have therefore failed spectacularly.

I spose that is the problem with this forum, everything you post is interpreted as an argument, as opposed to a general opinion backed up by nothing more than a feeling based off your own rather small sample sizes.

I regularly detail my feelings about this game, only to have people like you claim they are not true, which is fine, it's just dumb. I know how I feel about this game, I know exactly what point I was trying to get across, you are incapable of understanding either so misinterpreting the post is your only form of a response (and I use that word gingerly). Next time I'd prefer you to beat your head against the keyboard for 10 seconds, as that has more of a chance of providing useful discussion than what-ever it was you were trying to spit out when you quoted me.

posted a message on MF then and now, why D3 bores.
Like it matters, only top level gear sells now, so you are complaining about something I find to be completely true in a sense but you are skewing the details to fit your perception.

95% of what you pick up is complete junk to you. But lets say 45% of what you pick up is gold to other players IF

    1. There were other players, meaning you automatically class it as junk because you know you can't sell it because there is no continually fresh player base.

    2. Players are either level 60, or previous lvl 60's leveling alts. These guys know not to buy any of the mid range gear, you are just gonna dump it later, so why bother investing twice. You power level your alt, go shopping when you hit 60.

    3. Most items you find in Inferno are req lvl 60, and I mean they mostly are, and talk about useless. What level 60 character is going to use a 300 dps revenant bow with 50 dex? But how many do you find like that though. Having required item levels means 90% of what you find is useless, simply because at level 60 it is a POS. But hell at lvl 50 maybe that bow would have been nice, maybe someone would have paid 50 - 100k for it as an up in the AH.

So honestly I think what you find is fairly decent, IF you could move it, but you can't because of the problems I listed. So yeah 99% of everything you pick up is so utterly useless, making this game a snore...

posted a message on Gearing an Archon build
I'm guessing most of you are not in Act III and IV, Archon is useless in those acts because even with huge DPS you won't melt things, especially champ packs quick enough before they get to you. Then you are toast because Archon locks out all your 'Oh Shit' abilities like Wormhole and DS.

The Kiting wizard builds don't use archon because obviously it's a channelling spell requiring you to stand still, the opposite of kiting

    Solo:

Archon also takes a stupidly long time to cooldown, 2 minutes, what are you guys doing, waiting 2 minutes to move further in the dungeon? Archon takes too long on CD, and requires you to stand still while lowering damage reduction. It just is not useful beyond act I/II, I haven't seen any effective archon builds yet for act III and IV, mainly because of the points I have mentioned.

    Group:

It can be ok in group settings when you have a few good tanks, helps with elites & bosses, but again you have to sacrifice your survivability, one elite wanders over to you and bye bye, also typically you are better off without it because your main nuke doesn't take 2 minutes to reset. We have used it a couple times for elite farming, but honestly we find elites quicker then the CD time, so it was super inexpedient having to wait for it.

That just makes an unenjoyable game, even less enjoyable.

Has anyone else, specifically wizards experienced the wormhole death teleport?

You equip wormhole+teleport, go find a phase beast in arreat core just before Azmo, don't use FA. Wait for the wind up animation on a phase beast, wormhole. When you come out the other end of your teleport chain, you will instantly transform into a gravemarker. I have nick-named it corpseporting, I find it fairly amusing.

    Someone fraps that shit :)

Good read, need to test this myself.

Have you tried a one handed sword vs a one handed axe with same APS?

I made that switch recently and felt like my kiting ability went to pot, but I have no evidence, just thought you might have tried that combo.

I can farm act 3 with 38k DPS,

I never said you couldn't, nor do I care to spend that much time farming, farming is about efficiency, and I'm sorry but with 38k dps, you are not as efficient as someone with 60. I'm not targeting your build, I just think you missed the point of my post, I'm impressed with the life regen actually, I thought about that for a while, but again went with high intel/
I have 2k intel and 180%mf without NV, I bet u die a lot more than me, so efficiency is debatable I can do runs on act 3 pretty quickly as I dont have to kite much anymore...

What do they say about assumptions? Something like 'they are the mother of all f%^& ups', thank you 'Undersiege 2'.

I don't die very often with my build, fast affix when it rolls combined with mortar and shielding is about the only time I find myself looking at a grave marker. If it can't catch me multiple times in a row, it can't hit me enough times to bleed through FA shield before melting it.

I think what you meant to say was, that you can take quite a few more hits than I can, which is fine, I don't want to just stand in one spot, then claim that technique requires skill.

Sadly you are still missing the point, you probably were not very good at pin the tail on the donkey at parties? <--- Assumption

You have a specific build that allows you to farm with a lower dps (claps)

Make your own thread detailing how to do it, don't just post in someone elses saying you can do it with lower DPS but then hide the fact the rest of your gear is epic. That is just retarded attention seeking behaviour, share or GTFO :)

posted a message on Inferno: It gets better ;)
I wanted to write this up because of all the posts I see talking/crying about how this game is too hard for a wiz or just generally asking for advice on how to proceed into Act III Inferno. While in game I'm constantly asked how to get your DPS up as a wizard, what skills should I run, WHY CAN"T I FARM ACT III and the great age old question, Why do I die? Sorry that I can't message you all back while I'm trying to burn down champion packs of ponies, so here is my experience laid out bare for you to read and follow if you want.

The thing I find awesome about playing as a Wizard is just the visual amazingness of melting mobs with cool looking spells, but I will admit, it is a hard class to play after the IAS nerf. But give me a minute, don't jump on that bandwagon yet ok.

Long story short, my wiz build before 1.0.3 was a high attack speed AP regen, orb spammer, I was farming Act III easily.

    Build here pre 1.0.3

    60k dps / 62k hp / 2.4 APS - One hander
    http://us.battle.net...QROS!YdU!YYYaYZ

After 1.0.3 hit I simply couldn't farm act III anymore, INV minions, shielding, fast, were all starting to destroy me, when before it had been a faceroll all the way to Azmo if you weren't falling asleep at your desk. I really didn't enjoy Act III after 1.0.3 and the day after the patch was the first time I rage quit in DIII, i threw off my headphones, yelled at the enraged INV minions standing over my body and went and got a beer. I just couldn't fathom enrage timers on Invulnerables, I wanted to write forum posts about it and tell Blizzard I hate them for ruining my character.

Post 1.0.3 with these stats == getting pwned
    42k dps / 62k hp / 1.7 APS - One hander

But at this point something in my head clicked, my rage subsided and I thought hey, if I was rolling act III with 60k dps, theoretically all I have to do is get back to that stat and things will be fine. Funnily enough that proved true.

Build here post 1.0.3 (No changes except gear)

    60k dps / 50k hp / 1.4 APS - One hander
    http://us.battle.net...QROS!YdU!YYYaYZ

I dropped down, farmed act II for about 4 hrs, got lucky with an ilvl 63 axe 950 dps, 200 intel, socket. After that I ditched a lot of VIT gear and swapped to high Intel, cheap crap off AH. Once I hit 60k dps again, went back to act III face rolled it, Azmo = cakewalk. Cydea was a wipe, spiderlings are retarded, just skip it from now until fixed.

With my 60k dps wiz, found depth diggers and a nice IAS + crit damage ring, adding some serious hitting power to her crit dmg. So a 60k dps wiz, will hit hard enough to farm these acts and have fun in a group or solo.

My wizard advice if you are in act III

    - 60k dps (honestly it isn't worth farming with anything less)
    - Use force armour aim for (50k hp) again magic
    - Stack intel, screw resists, vit
    - Stack intel <-- this is important
    - Don't want to die as much, use teleport/illusionist/fracture combo

Nothing in here is new, or revolutionary advice, it is simply just one nerfed wiz to another saying stick with it, the game is fun but it requires some dedication to farming to get there. I still die, especially to fat fast shielding mortar ponies, but the game is fun again.

    TL;DR

Stop trying to 'farm' Act III with anything less then 60k dps, for me that is the magic number, act III and IV are pretty simple with that sort of dps, if you have it, that is where you should be, if you don't, stay in act I, II until you do. Save yourself the headache, but keep playing because.

    Quote from mavfin

Funny. Those who had given up on Inferno before are still whining, while my friends who thought it just needed a little tweak are happily farming Act 3 or 4 in the gear they used to do Act 2 in.

Good players adapt. Bad players whine. Figure out which one you are.

Why would you want to adapt to a game that isn't enjoyable. You Blizz fan boys are grinding my gears, you come into a thread where ten people are all saying the exact same thing, something along the lines of 'I feel like this game isn't fun any more'. You then call them bad players. Well done buddy, you just sent another 10 people to a different game. Now you might also think, good riddance to bad rubbish, well guess what, AH, RMAH, public games, all go to shit without the player base to support it.

Seriously sexton, slap yourself in the face, cause I can't be bothered doing it for you. Every forum thread I have read today says the same thing. Diablo III is not fun, it's a grind with no rewards. blizz has spent 10 yrs trying to make a 10 yr game, but they forgot to make a 1 year game in almost everyone's opinion.
