so all of these other topics are great and all, but after getting up to act3 NM I have come to realize that the difficulties change the gameplay immensely.
In normal it was very easy to do the basic leap, ww, kill everything with a 2h.
Now in nightmare I've had to change my spec around to a more defensive build and use a shield for partying... BUT I couldn't come close to soloing balail at lvl 40 with sword and board, but put on a 2h and I kicked his ass...
anyways, post your success and insights for NIGHTMARE PVE here!!!!!

Posted in: Barbarian: Bastion's KeepQuote from skawchQuote from sooruWW is awesome. Easily the best spender from my experience to level 33 so far. Other spenders you need to aim in a sector around you, WW you just point and roflstomp everything in the vicinity.
I started with Cleave/Reaping swing and WW as m1 and m2, charge, leap, sprint and stomp as the other active skills.
From about 23 onwards it's been Cleave/Reaping Swings, WW/Hurricane, and Stomp, Leap, War Cry and Revenge/Vengeance is Mine with 3 defensive passives, and I don't think I'll change this setup for the remainder of leveling time.
WW with Revenge/ViM is absolutely ridiculous. On most groups I don't need to cleave at all, just use the specials that generate some fury, and WW away. Revenge runed like that heals for 8% max health per monster hit, and gives 5 fury per monster hit. This usually means a completely new fury bar, so I can WW again.
The fight would start for example by leaping in to a group of monsters, stomping them for stun, WW around a bit, revenge when fury runs out, WW again, leap out.
In addition to the aiming thing, WW has another upside which is immense. It lets you move through monsters. When I'm fighting a hard mob or group, I often leap in near it, and WW away from the monster - or the other way around. Absolutely no risk getting blocked between monsters and not being able to get away.
For bosses sometimes I change the skills around a bit, but it's not necessary on normal. Most bosses spawn some adds anyway.
If going this way, try to get a hard hitting 2-hander. Since you don't rely on cleave that much for fury generation, the better damage per fury ratio from 2-handers should go the extra mile. Seems to be hard to find good 2-handers though
Yeah i completely agree, WW is very powerful especially with the revenge vengeance rune, i basically:
- Leap in (gain 400% armour)
-Stomp (pulls enemies in)
-Spam Revenge whenever its up (heal is insane and gives you a ton of rage)
-Rinse and repeat
It gives you insane healing and damage all at once. I also use bash with reverb for great singe target. i advise using a slow 2H weapon as you dont need to attack to generate rage, you just use you spells, while maximizing your damage.
How do you leap and stomp without respeccing in between???
