There is a cap on movement speed at 24%. That's two items at 12% each. Most people looking to hit the cap go for 12% on boots and 12% Lacuni's, yes, but since you already have the ring there's no reason for you to get a Lacuni's. I am wondering why you put a vitality gem in the ring though, because you have more than enough health but your strength is very low.
Your crit chance and crit damage are pretty good, but the overall strength is really holding back your dps. Getting a chest with 3 sockets and some new bracers would easily net you 350+ strength and a lot of dps.

Reread the thread title. This thread is asking if DW is viable at any point and when, but all of your posts so far have basically been summed up as "2h is better because it costs too much to find optimal 1h weapons".

Posted in: Demon Hunter: The DreadlandsQuote from LucidityAnd no, the archery bonus for crossbows is much more useful than the archery bonus for 1 handers in the scope of dualwielding, because it isn't hard at all to find a quiver that gives you 8.5 crit %. So within the scope of dual wielding v. 2 handers, the difference isn't 10% crit chance v. 50% crit damage, it's more like 1.5% crit chance v. 50% crit damage.
This kind of logic is just... wow. Yes, you can get 8.5% crit on a quiver for your offhand. But if you were dual wielding, you could get 100%+ crit damage on the offhand instead. So if you want to use your "differential math" by saying you'd only gain 1.5% crit, its actually: 1.5% crit AND 50%+ crit damage vs nothing.
The archery bonus for 1h is far superior. Perhaps think of it in terms of BiS rolls on a piece of gear. 10% crit is a lot and is a perfect roll on a slot like gloves. Whereas 50 crit damage isn't that much at all. Its only half of what the max gem is!

All of Seditiar's keys have been used. Anyone else have a key available? I would love to participate in this beta.Posted in: Off-Topic

Life steal only has 20% effectiveness in inferno. If you have 6%, you actually only have 1.2%. It will eventually outscale life on hit, but currently it isn't very good at all. Perhaps after the IAS nerf life on hit won't be as amazing as it is. We'll just have to wait and see.

Life on hit does not get reduced at all. It is just normalized per spell, as you see above with locust swarm only granting 33% of your total LoH. There's a post on the US forums showing most of the normalizations, which is where Myrx got his information from.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
Spiders only give LoH on the jar landing, not on any of the spider's attacks. Darts give 100% (33% per splinter).

...I killed inferno diablo on my WD with only 52k dps. DHs are incomparably better, but you can't progress through act 2? Sounds like you need to learn how to press smokescreen better. I know this sounds like a flame post, but its my honest opinion. Smoke screen carries DHs through this game.Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands
As for gear to buy? Andariel's Visage (legendary helm, get a high dex one), Beckon Sail (legendary chest, 3 sockets and IAS) or Natalya's Shadow (DH set chest, no IAS, but 2 set is 7% crit), Natalya's Mark ring (with dex/IAS for 2 set if you want), Dead Man's Legacy quiver, any rare shoulders with 180+ dex, any rare gloves with 160+ dex, 17% IAS, 35+ increased crit damage.
With the gear you already have, this stuff should be pretty obvious. You want high dex, high IAS, high crit, and high crit damage. Any additional +disc or +EA damage from quiver and chest are also good to look for.

Yes, it is already calculated in the listed dps. The highest common found weapons in the game currently are the act 4 (lvl 63?) blues that have +45-50% damage affixes.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Total cost of Inferno staff is 1.7 milion?
Normal > Nightmare - 200k
NM > Hell 500k
Hell > Inferno 1mil
Plus the 150k it costs to make the original staff (100k bell, 50k craft) so 1.85 million in total.

As someone mentioned above, witch doctor offhands give +damage. Faster weapons benefit more from this, but are not always the best choice.Posted in: Theorycrafting and Analysis
Sure your dps number on your character sheet may be higher, but some abilities hit harder with slower weapons due to the larger damage range. Slower weapons also make stutter stepping / kiting more efficient. Even if you had 5 attacks per second (arbitrarily high number) you're realisticly only able to attack maybe once per second while kiting, thus making it easier to maintain dps while kiting if you use a slow weapon.
