I don't even have a full set 6P of Marauder's yet, and I'm finding some good times with this build. The pets alone make it great, and the damage output w/ just the 4p has put me at T5. The 4P Marauder's variant of this build was an older build that Natalya85 posted up on YouTube. While I'm not using that build, I'm betting I can start toe-dipping into T6 for sure. My most played toon is a Pet Doctor, and its good to see DH has a pet spec that rocks faces as well.

Gang, so I just got my Bombadier's Rucksack last night; but still lack my 6P Marauder's set. Do you think it's possible to go into T6 with my layout? I'm farming the hell out of T5 so far.

    FOR PET DOCTOR(physical):

    ----Mask of Jeram.

----Zunimassa set(mojo, chest and boots) with fetishe army %

----Starmetal kukri/ Rhen'ho Flayer: Starmetal kukri just stomps Rhen'ho but its also a good choice till u get the kukri

----Hexing pants of Mr.Yan(BIS if u use starmetal kukri)

    ----bracer with physical%

    ----Amulet with Physical%/cc/cd/intel

----Tasker and theo Gloves: must have

    ----Harrington Waistguard/ Witching Hour

    ----SOJ Physycal%/cd or cc

    ----RORG
do note that if you decide to run with hexing pants, you're in for the most boring build in the entire game (yeah, it's even worse than mm/conflag wiz)
    indeed
Its funny that you mention it because I love MM/Conflag Wizard and the pet build as I find them entertaining as hell. It is interesting to see differing opinions.

Leil, not always the case, in my case my soj didnt roll amazingly well but my rrog did...

So I went with the 100% all the time 20%+ dmg with my rrog in favor of my elite only 27% on my soj, now factor in the other BT set bonus's (not even considering all of the immunities)

+10% vs elites and-10% vs elites
Add it all up and with my setup my rrog+tmf+3pc bt is much better then my soj+tmf+non bt set. Sure rolls come into play, I just think BT gets a bad wrap becaues it drops so often for people (and the ammy.boots suck) but I still think they are veryusable.
Nice trifecta; and it is a nearly perfect RORG, but I find these to be the minority case. This is a 1% case in my mind. In this situation, you very much did the right thing, but I'd still say roll with some Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan and test out that boost vs. the BT set. The 3pc BT becoming the 4pc BT set bonus - probably a huge boost to survival, but the damage tradeoff of the Yan Pants might be worth it. Perhaps not on T6 though...it is a coin toss there. But yeah in your situation, totally the right move, in 99% of the situations - probably not so much. If you find an SOJ with 30% DvE, % Elemental, and CHC+CHD - you'll beat your setup by a large margin then. Of course again, you're giving up that 3pc/4pc BT toughness bonus...but yeah.

Hard to call 4/6 set a "Helltooth end-game guide" ... It's just pretty much standard pet doctor with crappy Hellthooth's instead of Blackthrone's...
I don't even run Blackthorne's set bonus really; it's useless. I find the Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan much better. Kadala gives them out often. So much easier to do great damage with those. Also, I'm shooting for some Ice Climbers now. Those babies are the bomb.
BT set useless? 3pc+rrog is prob one of the best set bonuses in the game, I am unsure what you're getting at?

As for OP, very cool that you found a use for this build. Yea its not as fast as a full petdoc or jadedoc but its different and I am going to try it out, and it would be extremely useful in group play. Especially if you already have a jade and pet doc in game.
I'm not gonna knock the 3pc with a RoRG; its cool for people gearing up. But that's about it. It is a DPS loss beyond all measure to take a RoRG as a pet build and 3/4p Blackthorne. RoRG is taking the space of a 30% elite damage SOJ. You mandatorily are gonna run TMF. I'm still chasing my TMF, and have had incredibly bad luck. But RoRG doesn't belong in a strong pet build; but perhaps a Fire pet build - maybe - I just don't like it when SOJ is right there looking fine as hell. That's 30% on elite packs and an elemental boost, and other stats.

Without the RORG in the lineup, that means you're running 4p Blackthorne's which really is bad. My idea would to be take TMF, go with SOJ, and skip the Blackthorne's entirely. Ukhapian Serpent off-hand to soak *all* damage and call it a day. That gives you 15% reduction from a elites, on top of another potential 30% reduction from elites from the serpent. That's 45% off the top of elites, and 30% off the top of whites. You can't beat that for survival and you're eating elite packs for breakfast with 45% bonus damage with Aughild's and SOJ.

Edit: Again, I think the build is legit, just tweak the gear some. I think with 2.1 this build might have some serious potential as well - if they make the Helltooth set worthy. I am betting they are.

Check my build out, and also my gear. I run a very tankish spec that is able to take a lot of damage. I am missing a Tall Man's Finger, but that's about it. I'm a physical damage based pet doctor.

Edit: For some odd reason, a lot of my stats are not carrying over to the character page for whatever reason. My crit is much higher in-game, as is my toughness. My current toughness is at about 8M. I've had as high as 10M toughness. Anyway, 3 pieces of Aughild's gear will significantly raise damage and toughness against elite packs.

If you got with a fire build, I find that build to be much more of a glass cannon pet build, at least this is my experience.

    Greetings,

I looked around on google ( outdated ), and here a bit (and I may very well be blind), but I've heard different things surrounding what precisely determines the damage of the spawn fetishes?

Does attack speed? Is there or isn't there a crit hit damage cap on them?

    Thanks for clarifying
I've got the entire thread for you. This is your Fetish bible. Use it well.

    Quote from Qwerty667
    Sunkeeper is overrated imo.

You can check your elemental / elite dps on diabloprogress.com - simply put on Sunkeeper and log out, then refresh the page. Same story with Carving Knife. (here is link to your profile:http://www.diabloprogress.com/hero/baradûr-1264/Zugaru/2085709)

Personaly i prefer to play with high rolled weapon (2525 dps Gift of Silaria) then with average Sunkeeper (something near 2200). On paper i have like 4-5% more damage versus elites with Sunkeeper but to be honest white trash is more annoyhing and deadly on T6 then elite packs... (those Act 5 mobs, angels and stuff like this...)
I agree with how you measure this; but I disagree that Sunkeeper is overrated. I've got one and I can say for a fact on T6 it is very, very, very essential. I'm running a pet build currently, but I've got full JH set that I keep on hand. I'm playing both. I'm not saying that Sunkeeper is the only weapon, but the firepower is insane on elite packs. Whites I'm able to handle super easily with a Hwoj Wrap and some creative Pirhanados.

Yo, WD forum. WD seems really fun, i want to level a WD and gear him. Am just worried what will happen in 2.1.0.

What is the pro and cons about pet or haunt build endgame?

My WD is named Opasfcuk ;)

    Thanks for your reply´s!
People like this make us flavor of the month, and we'll get nerfed, so yeah. Go ahead. Roll one, and then you'll see it nerfed b/c people are being so cruel and saying things like "OP must roll" heh. I don't like this one bit. If you enjoy the SOUL of the class, roll it, and play it. If you do not, then do not. But don't play something you think is being exploitive at the moment. It does nothing to further the progression of the class, or game. Do what you enjoy, not what all the fish in the sea are doing. I disagree with the thought that there are only two builds that are viable, but what do I know, I just am rolling with what I like at the moment - a necromancer-like pet DPS build.

Ah, for the days of skeletons...

So you didn't try the build and either didn't watch the video, or didn't listen to what Debo said, or didn't understand what he said. But you just wanted to post something negative about a guide he took the time and trouble to put together -- a guide where he clearly explained the limitations of the build. OK.

I tried this build last night. Just on T4, mind you...but it was fun and effective. As pointed out in the guide, the zombie wall actually offers some pretty nice control over mobs, which I found useful for things like mallet lords. I appreciated the guide; it encouraged me to try something a little different just for fun, and it turned out to be a pretty decent little build. As the guide points out, it doesn't have the full power of a functional endgame set, but we all know that some sets need re-tuning. I hope this will be one of them. In the meantime, it can absolutely be used, and absolutely is effective.
There is a hole in the spot of pet builds for Mallet Lords, Act 5 monsters, archers, and ranged attackers. I think this build meets those holes, and thus, can be very effective for soloing. I don't have the parts for it, but it is interesting, and does provide an astonishing amount of CC for a pet build. It is an interesting take on a crowd favorite. Some will opt for more damage in other builds, but damage is certainly never everything on T6. On T6 you want some ideal CC and great survivability.

Good work, and keep it coming. Don't let the haters hate because they are jealous and lazy. To each their own; and misery loves company.

    How is that bad?

I also have fully geared Fire EQ barb and I could switch to a fire sader and do RiF until i get dark light and others.

Notice his Stone of Jordan is not BiS rolled? he re-rolled for cold dmg, same goes with his strongarm bracer. During the course of his Wiz run he could easily get Sun Keeper, harrington, strongarm, stone of jordan, and RoRG. he just need to gamble the whole Jade set with Quez helm and serpant mojo. Yea 4 hours to get the full set is probably a bit much but you can certainly achieve that within a couple of days with RiF where you could get 500 shards every 10 ~ 20 mins

The gears he has are the BiS items for jade, but the rolls are not BiS, and its not like it took 4 hours for him to get say tasker and theo, or smk.
hehe you got me :3 I already had Sun keeper, Harrington, SoJ, RoRG, Haunt of Vaxo, Strongarm and Serpent off hand on my Wiz. All I needed was jade set and Quatzalcoetl :) I dont have Tasker yet! but I have SMK, I found it on my barb while I was rifting t6 :)
Yeah so, like I said, not a new player, and knows the class, and didn't do all of this in 4 hours. Regardless of off-stat rolls, and particular actual rolls, the items themselves are rare. This is no coincidence and 4 hours.

posted a message on Too much Physical Damage?
    Found my answer!

You are considering reducing 18% Phys and adding 10% CHC.
    MOJ+Phys = 153%
    (1 + CHC/100 x CHD/100) = 2.2469

    New MOJ+Phys = 135%
    new (1 + CHC/100 x CHD/100) = 2.5839

    Reduction in [ %MoJ+Element ] multiplier = 2.53/2.35 = 7.65957%
    Increase in [ %CHC&CHD ] multiplier = 2.5839/2.2469 = 14.99844%

Your intention for amulet re-roll is excellent.

All the detailed info you seek is here (especially for distributing out your multipliers):
