    I create another character

    I want to play wizard

I'm now 70 lvl but I did not get any set?

The "free" set you get is a seasonal journey reward. The journey for seasons is account-wide and with that the reward can only be given once.

    Quote from Mad_Tom

Sadly, if you got the set in softcore, even if you gear another char in hardcore, that other char will not get Haedrig gift.

So, it is only once per season.

yep, seems so. leveled up one hardcore char, ready to crack some skulls with the might of the earth.. nothing in the mail. haven't claimed the three gifts from my SC chars, why aren't they REALLY account-wide?

really bums you out, you know..

edit: and to be clear: hardcore isn't that hard. you can still get boosted, you can still leech your ass off for shards and lucky drops in public games and you can still receive a full set rather quick. so it wouldn't hurt the community if some blokes got a free set out of their efforts.

Are people really complaining that they aren't getting MORE free sets?!

    Poor Blizzard can't win.

problem is, that they didn't communicate it enough or clearly i think. i, atleast, haven't seen it in the patch notes. there are also no clues in-game that you can only have three bags for this season.

sure, release the patch with the next season might be a thing to them. but when has that ever worked out?

    - you don't release a patch this close to a weekend, where the possibility to fuck everything up is highest (i.e.: you spend the whole weekend trying to fix everything and royally piss off your customers).

    - you can choose to release it a day before a major new chapter opens up, i am fine with that. but learn to communicate. you cannot just update consoles here and there without ANY information like patch notes, without talking about the status of the MAIN platform and generally implementing something without telling the playerbase what is about to happen.

    - 2.4 is so wanted, yet you get nothing except a post about the release of season 5 on january 15th. no notes, no coutdown thingy maybe, no cheering from the blues.

they really unlearned how to communicate and i don't know why blizzard is letting this dev team treat us so badly.

if you take vanilla d3 you have level 60 and looking for the best farming route in the campaign. later came paragon and you at least became a little more sense to log in and play the game. with RoS came act 5, adventure mode (bounties / rifts / grifts) and later the seasons.

don't get me wrong, i have a few hours into this game and i really like it. but the endgame will always be the same: hack and slay mobs here and there. the devs could have broken that routine and chose not to do so. they could communicate, if things like yolomouse, turbohud and botting are legitimate or if they are going to actively do something against that. which they chose not to do. some proven botters are at it again, turbohud is used by many people like maphacks in d2 and a non-customizable cursor isn't even in the works. which proves the disconnection between devs and playerbase.

i wouldn't have to heap that much negativity on the devs if they would do something against the focus on sets and the missing place to goof around with fun builds. or if they would take an active stance against botters / 3rd party program users. maybe if they even got a spotlight in the frickin' opening ceremony. isn't anybody curious about why only one game didn't get a spot there? it's a red flag for me.

to me it is just about the signaling effect. you have your own convention, you have six very successful games and you have a grand opening ceremony. where you mention five games and hint about that sixth one. a bit. a sentence maybe. then you have a small booth, a one hour panel about a patch and then you wrap it up.

that is disappointing to say the least. this game brought them so much money via box sales and RMAH and yet they did what they did. it just doesn't sit well with me. it gives you the idea, that the dev team of diablo is very small and is doing a bit here and there but that there is nothing big in the works. that isn't entitlement, i just care about this game and i don't like that they handle it this way.

also, it is multiplayer. the less players, the less games i find. the less people in less communites. i don't like to play diablo solo, i play random groups.

posted a message on What's the point of Rebirth Feature?

so i will rebirth a char from, let's say, season 1. if i had one of those. he has gear on him. okay. now we picture the end of season 5:

    - all the gear i found and stored in the new tabs will be mailed to my non-seasonal.

    - the gear from the rebirthed char is being put on said pile.

    - i no longer lose the accumulated things like playtime on a character, but since i already deleted some old ones i lost those anyway.

    - i still have to sit a long time to sort everything in my stash out.

you know, i always disliked the mail feature. or the space management. i have rather neatly organized stashes throught season and non-season with items for different builds, items for fun builds or simply want to try some tactics in non-season and maybe lose a char. which i then do not care about, since the season char is still intact.

but you always get that big chunk of items mailed. all my chars act like mules and i have two chars full of one-slot items like jewelry or belts. i'd like to "update" my old inventory with new-found items from the last season. there is just no feasible way to do that. so i pile on and on, disenchant many items and ultimately delete two to three chars to make place for a new season. i guess that last part won't be relevant with the rebirth feature, but the mass of overlapping items will still be. more stash tabs or not, which is a lame way to try and fix the storage problems.

an expansion is paid content. communication from the devs to the playerbase is mandatory for selling future expansions and having a multiplayer game with actual gamers. having patches shows care above the taken money and is in no way expected, blizzard always does it though.

i am unhappy because of no communication, no connection of the devs to their game and their players, heck we even have a real CM team when i look at the forums. by the way: while the RMAH generated profit, there somehow was more buzz around. and i think you should age a few years before you can call someone boy.

the negativity stems from the missing communication between devs and players and also the out-of-touch feeling you get when you hear them talk or implement changes.

why do they do such a lame way to add stash space? why do 50 legendaries matter? with six classes and cross-class legendaries you have not very much left to add anything else than another mandatory item admidst all those other mandatory items. what do they do about botting? why do they implement things in other regions which we'd also like and not throwing us atleast a bone? why do i see hundreds of threads in the official forums since the opening ceremony and not one blue poster says anything to all those disappointed players? why does blizzard think that 2.4 is enough for another 1.5 years and that we gladly suck it up because it means just a hint of content?

why do you defend their practices with this franchise? when i play diablo, i really invest in it time-wise. i had a lot of fun with RoS and the systems it brought. but now that novelty has worn off and we get back to rift/grift/erift with another power creep. and please take your AD out of spec and gear or else you lag your way to hell.

oh, wrote it somewhere before but here i go again:

social media updates for all the games, except diablo 3.

and even the f'ing launcher has:

wow: pre-purchase legion / cinematic trailer!
sc2: lotv trailer / nova covert ops!
hearthstone: championship / league of explorers!
    hots: championship / new heroes!
overwatch: pre-sales buttons, but there is nothing else on this page since not released i think.

diablo: patch 2.3.0 available / season 4 live / (oh, and visit our smaller-than-a-restroom-booth on blizzcon)

they even shaft that game in the launcher and don't even spill something about 2.4, 2.4 ptr or anything that was said last night.

in. their own. launcher. you cannot tell me that you agree with blizzards handling of diablo. you simply cannot tell me that. nobody can say to me, that blizzard is still interested in diablo and the players.

Story of the day it, D3 is getting cool stuff, but the fans are never happy... u got every thing u asked for! EVERY THING, yet here we are listening to the crying again of unhappy babys, I give up with u people.

sorry, but i don't think you can be serious. everything we asked for? what? can't you see that the dev team is absolutely not getting any funds?
my girlfriend came home this morning. i showed her the legion cinematic, i showed her the warcraft trailer. and we both played wow and we play d3. i summarized everything those new and old franchises got and i had nothing to report on diablo. then came the bits from the ONE HOUR talk and i quickly realized in my report that i was talking about QoL improvements there. something i tell when the big news of new features in other games are told and i then talk about the small stuff.

except that the small stuff is the big new "feature" in diablo. you get some small improvements, you still know there won't be coming any funds to this game from the fans for another year and you know that there is a skeleton crew at work to provide a basic level of effort to do something for this game. you can't call a season content. a season is done after two weeks of heavy playing, after that it is justing praying to rngesus to min-max your gear.
diablo is in a very sad state now.

heroes of the storm - cho'gall and arenas!

starcraft 2 - haven't liked it somehow, but something about lotv and nova for sure!

    .
    diablo 3 - *cricket*

nope, not even the social media team gives a rat's ass about that "panel". no new post even after the small announcement of the 2.4 ptr. this game has been given up. and i hate myself for writing something in a few threads, but i have to went that anger somehow. grrr!!

i know we don't have the right to demand anything, since it is their product and we just helped them getting their costs back (and making a small fortune on the side. also, most d3 players own or actively play another blizzard game.).

but what have done that they ACTIVELY ignore diablo completely (minus the few words about it) in their main event? their own convention? what are they trying to tell us? it makes me really mad..

posted a message on Diablo3 Halloween weekend 2015

their policy of no interactions with the community is still going strong. did they even acknowledge anything about the bad representation of diablo at blizzcon? i looked a bit for a response but afaik there was never a blue post about it.

also: this weekend. diablo has a perfect setting in a small town like new tristram. slap together something, anything. a few mobs, halloween-y names, higher than average loot and / or a small buff. show that you care. but nothing. always nothing.

they are preparing for blizzcon. to unleash very big news about diablo and a new addon. that is it. that HAS to be it. or else we get another few seasons for another few months and that'll be it. no more ressources for diablo.

posted a message on Streamer goes to sleep. Bots openly on stream.

well, sad to see. i understand the need to show your followers something or make a video about a specific thing. like crafting / rerolling legendaries. which takes mats. many mats. but the followers also want real gameplay outside those videos on the side. a few hours of rifting or grifting. one or two glorious moments where the streamer achieves something incredible. i think they have a lot of pressure.

is that the problem and the motivation to bot? are the expectations too high for a streamer so that they have to use something like bots when they cannot play? is blizzard the problem with too ridiculous requirements to reroll or craft something? or did they increase the requirements early due to botting without realising that the players botted?

i, too, have no mats at the moment. i really have to farm them, but that sucks. and i am not talking about death's breath / forgotten souls, i have enough of them surprisingly. i miss white / blue / yellow mats. every stack of them is <100. i'd really like to use a bot to farm that stacks to 5.000 and be done with that. but then again: that is lame. i don't have those high expectations from other players. i play mostly for myself and public and i have no interest in storming the ladder. but you can now put most of the top ranked players under general suspicion when you check their playtime. that is going to hurt the competition.

now, what shall be done? lower the requirements and therefore taking away the incentive to bot? then you should also lower the chance of success if you don't want an inflation of mats. effectively detect bots better? can't be done. there are always loopholes. blizzard should try to change the gameplay required to craft stuff / achieve paragon ranks by somehow altering the game. tough one.
