I've been a member of d2jsp since 2003 and its basically a 3rd party item site since it involves a different form of currency than whats in game. I can pay RL money to get forum gold on d2jsp, I can then use to buy items or in game gold with. Take the blinders off.
True, but you have to admit, most everything on d2jsp goes for in-game gold. Forum gold was used more often in D2, as a normal, established currency that could be used to trade d2 items due to the lack of a legitimate in-game currency. It was very possible to gain a large amount of forum gold without spending a dime of real money.
I would consider d2jsp to be different from normal 3rd party item-selling websites. d2jsp is largely community centered, after all, you didn't have d2jsp sponsored bots coming into d2 games and spamming chat like 3rd party websites often would. It was dependent upon a certain level of trust in d2, where the community regulated itself to weed out scammers.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents on d2jsp.
All those complaining about Kripp should be focused on your own character, it's more fun than concerning yourself over who is getting world/server first and how they will exploit the game to do it. This has been happening in games for years, and it will not change.
