Awesome. So many nice suggestions by players. Still dont know why Blizzard doesnt take a use of them ...
Because they aren't that well thought out (despite all the words), and are often too ambitious in terms of assets and development time to be considered. The head of the topic says it encourages "code re-use", but every suggestion here is a new feature that not only would require additional coding time, but lots of UI work. Something like the Fusion Forge could take a few man-months to complete. Not a lot of bang for your buck when players already complain about how often (not often) updates are released.

Heroes of the Storm will likely follow LoL with buyable skins. WoW has pets and mounts. Transmog/companions for D3 isn't too far away from that, and doesn't seem out of line. People like (REALLY like) that kind of stuff, and Blizzard is smart for offering it.

posted a message on RoS Release Date and Pre-Purchase

I'm guessing it's going something like this:

    Everyone: 12 character slots

    Digital/CE: 3 more either means 13 or 15.

Should probably be some blue clarification as it's a little unclear. 12 as a base has always been said because of the addition of the crusader and making you delete characters to try something new would be pretty...dumb.

I'm definitely in favor of this since a lot of my PTR builds have been based around collecting +% to skill or +% elemental damage affix items. The problem may be in the tech side of things. If the numbers in the advanced tooltips can't be changed on the fly, that system would have to be built, so it may be something they thought of but know their current UI can't make the connection. Double thumbs up for this!
I guess they shouldn't have made the UI so rigid, then.
    I guess not?

posted a message on So do people here actually like the game?

I've had a great time with the 2.0.1 PTR, and all of the changes, including the loot changes. I'm a big fan of a smaller amount of loot with more choices based on unique affixes (like combining +fire damage affixes with things that add fireballs to attacks...as a Monk). I'm hoping to get an RoS beta key so I can try out Adventure Mode in a more prolonged setting.

The changes to combat: pacing, more random density, more random/larger elite packs, more random elite/champion combinations, new affixes, and abilitiy updates are right up my alley as it's my favorite aspect of Diablo 3.

posted a message on Deprogramming from being "Self-Found"

The division between "self-found" and "not self-found" for me has always been use of the Auction House (buying or selling). Now that it doesn't exist, we're now back to what was normally available to a Diablo playe: vendors, crafting, slaying, and trading.

I'll chime in with an agreement that holding difficulty back as Expansion content makes no sense to me. I think I know WHY they're doing it, the last difficulty makes items drop for high level characters, but that's not why we want it for our lowbies, we just want the challenge! I'm hoping they make it available. I would also like to see the Adventure Mode map made available to D3 players who don't go into RoS. My guess is the only reason it's not is because they made it in such a way that they can't untie bounties from it. I know that seems like a silly thing to say, but look at the UI. People want a scalable UI but they hardcoded it so you can't change it and it would take programming changes to fix it. They probably tied bounties to adventure mode and don't have a simple 'switch' to turn it off. I'm hoping that's the only reason they aren't giving it to us, because it means they might be able to make it happen before launch with some of the engineers working on it. The CMs have stated that Adventure Mode is still in flux and there's no hard decision on if you'll need RoS or how it will unlock yet. Granted the beta makes it seem like they have made that decision, many of us who've followed Blizzard know they've changed their minds mid beta before.
I'm not sure if it will stick for Live or not, but currently on the PTR can "town portal" to any way point in an act from anywhere in that act. You can't go between acts like you can in Adventure Mode, but it's been a helpful addition for doing runs/cursed chest hunts. So the map is there, it's just currently linked in a campaign-focused way right now.

posted a message on Can a Diablofans.mod please post this or ask Blizzard what the hell happened with monster density!

One thing that I noticed in this thread was that no one mentioned the density potentials you encounter in Nephalem Rifts. I may sound like a conspiracy theorist, but what if they are going to lower the overall density to push people who want high density interaction into end game features like Nephalem Rifts, Cursed Chests, etc.
I think that having certain areas of high density may very well be their intention, because having diverse monster populations allows for more diversity in builds. I for one thought the high density was a ton of fun, but you can see how it contributed to the dominance of certain skills/builds. I mean just as a quick point, in a world where everything is high-density, what use are skills that don't pierce or do at least decent AoE?I haven't done any high-level PTR play, preferring to start fresh and experience the game from the ground up, but even at level 9 in the Cemetery of the Forsaken there are some really packed areas. It's possible they may just be trying to spread it around.
One change I immediately noticed is that champion and elite packs are larger than in 1.0.8. Another source for density change.

Just a PSA - if you're having a really long queue to join or start a softcore game, try hardcore. Last night I couldn't touch any of my softcore characters but I was able to have a great time playing HC.
This. Hardcore was a 0 length queue. The PTR is temporary work anyway, so try out hardcore with a new character!

Played a bit with a new hardcore Monk last night. The leveling/quest flow is improved dramatically by the new drop system and little additions like Nephalem Glory orbs, health potions you don't have to pick up (some of this is from console...but still), usable items from quests and skippable cutscenes.

As a hardcore character I didn't feel like I had to play it super safe early on. By the end of Act 1 (and a little into 2) I was level 20 on Normal difficulty. If that difficulty is meant for new players, then it's probably on point as it felt pretty easy as an experienced player. I would like to try it again on Hard from the start and see how different the difficulty is with a new toon.

At 1500ish hours played myself, I think I imagined that time to be spent other ways in game when I look back. Without the hype goggles.
So it took you 1500 hours to decide the game wasn't good? That's some strong hype.

I just feel like they're taking, taking, taking, taking and not actually giving anything back, know what I'm saying? There's a limit to how much I can do for them with my time, FOR FREE, only to get slapped in the face and told I have to pay more money all while they celebrate their financial success and reward the wrong players for it. No other company treated me or the community this way and I have done closed beta's for essentially every company in the business (as for past few years, Valve, Square-Enix, Bethesda, Bioware, just to name a few).
Your first mistake was expecting something in return for beta testing. If you don't feel like it's a good use of your time, stop doing it, or try and get a job actually being paid to do QA.
I don't ever expect anything tangible in return for beta testing. I'm happy that my feedback can be of use so that it does translate into new features/designs for the game. What I DO expect, is that Blizzard treat their players with respect and value expert and dedicated players above publicity and advertising. Allowing people like Athene and Kripparian into the friends and family beta just shows that they were more interested in reaching their audiences rather than obtaining valuable feedback from players such as myself. It's disgusting and Blizzard is the only company that I've EVER beta tested for, that's done that.

No I don't think I did. He's upset that he did all this work ("FOR FREE") providing 1500 hours of feedback on the game and Blizzard rewarded the "wrong players". That's called misplaced expectations.
