    Quote from JA0

i think the thing people look over the most is diablo's history. look at D2, the original product was good, but no where near what it ended up being.

D2 wasnt very good at release, and when most of the original designers left they brought in a new guy who gave us a awesome expansion and synergies to make alot of the abilities better.

now that wilson is gone. im hoping history repeats its self and we get a guy who will makes things better, mainly 4v4 battlegrounds(maybe dota like?) and one awesome expansion!
The initial D2 was crap compared to as D2 ended, but again, have you heard anyone saying that D2 at release was more poor than how D1 ended?

No, they didn't feel the urge to take all the steps back and make an inferioir product planning to catch up the predecessor at the future.

Diablo 3 just did it. Jay decided to scratch a lot of things and release something that was HIS work alone, so he could say he never learned anything from the team of that loser Brevik, and it was all his doing. Well, any level-head person can say that's not smart. Smart developers build AROUND the pillars of one existing franchise, they shouldn't demolish those pillars to substitute for their own.

I can't recall ONE example in which this stupid idea of redoing a game franchise with an installment that ignore the previous ones features worked well. Diablo 3 shuld have picked up from where Diablo 2 ended, not somewhere in between the crappy state of D2 and its end.

OHHHHH right, nice excuse. THERE CAN BE. They never say there ARE hundreds, but in a seemly smart way leave in the air the POSSIBLE reason, without asserting it EVER.

Sorry for the language, but BULLSHIT!!!! Anyone can enter Diablo 3 credits and see there aren't MANY people involved with the troublesome features. There is an entire ARMY involved with superfluos stuff, but the significant stuff is the work of 20 lone rangers.

There's a lot of fail to spread around D3's development team. Jay takes the fall, and rightfully so, for being dim-witted enough to act like everything was perfectly ok after release.

Yes, there are failures from all over the team, which doesn't mean their failures were their fault. Look how Wyatt Cheng could improve the game with a little more help and a lot of time. Yes, he is to responsible for making a lot of crap at launch, but not on his own volition. The fact that he ALONE made every skill of the game and most of interactions between them (monsters and players alike) would result in an OBVIOUS disaster. And who decided to dump the responsibility of a TEAM to a LONE developer?

Not to mention that error 37 was an oversight that I really doubt B.net programmers didn't alert Jay Wilson of the risk. BUT (RM)AH was the highest priority in Wilson's head, so fuck those loser players.

I blame Rob Pardo alright. When Jay Wilson had expenses placed in weird places, took a lot more time than expected to develop a game, and then scratched and restarted, keeping people in the beta at the dark, because he valued more to not spoil the story than having a bug-free game, THAT had to suffice as signal it was NOT on his capability to be the project director.

Rob Pardo should have replace Jay Wilson BY THEN. So, yeah, I blame you. As I'll blame you if the new place where Jay Wilson was moved is on the same position he couldn't perform in Diablo 3, but just in another game. I hope it's something more on par with Wilson's capabilities.

why did you release a half finish game, promise us PVP "soon" saying we wont ever change inferno "its suposed to be a godmode thats near impossible, to appeal to every layer of the player base"

and then blame the comunity for going sour on you, seriously, i must laugh.

*cough* *cough* Bioware *cough* doppelgänger *cough*

And we know where Bioware stands now. Morhaime will insist in letting Jay Wilson walk this path for how much longer? I mean, the immediate future of Diablo 3 is right in front of us, to anyone see. Why let it turn that way?

Just say "who want to lead the change of D3 into offline mode, raise their hand" and substitute Jay Wilson.

I love Diablo and would like to play it again, still reading news bcuz I feel that sometime the game can be pretty interesting again for me...

things that I do not like on this new game? Paragons, Nephalem valor, itemization (crits based game) ... I know, maybe this will never change, but who knows, I would like more of a d2 alike but it is just how every single one feels, every one has a opinion ...

well atm I am having fun with other games, it happens, since I have no fun at all playing diablo anymore, I agree that the community is not good at all, but every one had so much hope on this game and saying for me only, it was not what I was expecting ...

    life goes on

Yeah... go believe in yourself about D3 being a good game with a bad community, Stryker....
Meanwhile as Ubermey said D3 follow the path of every other disenfranchised game that failed bad, as they ignored the players, and blamed their customers on ruining their work: life goes on, and they are left alone. There is PLENTY, and really mean that, PLENTY of green pastures out there. Repeating that dry brown is the best will not bring the cattle to your wasteland. And calling them idiots for not believing that will only worsen it.

RIGHT NOW the only way I see to make Diablo 3 work is to finally release the offline mode, where everyone can cheat all the way they like, edit saves as much as they want, win paragon levels at the touch of a Button, ON THEIR OWN MACHINES, UNPLUGGED FROM B.NET AND THE AH.

People will only value and respect Battle.net after they tried the most powerful character they can have in their own home, separated from others. Then they will have a goal: to repeat that online, in a legitimate way.

It's nice to see that we got more feedback on that matter. Although I don't share their point of view of "Make everyone happy with a single system". Why not release different systems that appeal to different people rather than scrapping what they've got after 7 months?
Can't you see the obvious? It's so simple to understand. That's because... because... I mean, it's obvious they can't... that people ple wouldn't,.... And there is that mechanic problem which is... And surely, I mean....

Yeah, there is way out of that argument. Jaywilsoned...

Just saying, I am disappointed that PVP has not come out yet. Yet, they did said patch 1.1 for pvp, and we are getting a placeholder atm for PVP. IMO, I am glad that we get something, rather then no new content. It's better to think positive then to surmise the negative. To reiterate, patch 1.1 for PVP and this will only be patch 1.0.7.

They never planned on a 1.0.7. Before the game even released, they laid out their patch intents for the year, stating there'd be an AH patch, bug patches, a class rebalance patch, etc. They listed the rough intent behind the patches all the way up to 1.0.6 and then went on about 1.1 by the end of the year. They're slipping 1.0.7 in there to stall for time.
They should renumber all those patches retroactively as 0.0.3, 0.0.5, 0.0.7... No wait, 007 is too cool for them. Change them to b.0.7.
It's because that game is so unfinished that it should receive a b standing for beta.

Or an f instead of 1. You can choose between any of the meanings of F. From grade to a kind of word.

P.S.: Probably bots don't like Diablo PvP....

    So...much..win...

And I laughed HARD on "But in continuing to develop this mode, playtest it, and put it in front of other developers within the company, we've found that it falls short of our expectations for a high-quality Blizzard experience."

WAIT WHAT!!??? Where were them when ALL THE REST of Diablo 3 was to be tested?

I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Reverse engineering in thinking what means to ban botters, and how it impacts RMAH and B.net Balance, make me take that not with a grain, but with a lot of salt.

So Diablo3 was designed and it's meant to be played in a manner that causes headaches, is that it? If that is the case -- you have succeeded, and not just because of the screen shakes.

LOL, I think is KARMA. She made so much shit in Cataclysm release, even having a secret account where she would troll people she dislike in "breaking the rules" and "accidentally give permabans, instead of 48 hours ones", that they probably put her in the middle of the shitstorm Diablo 3 is, just for her to suffer.

At this time I say, ask Tom Chilton to call a replacement for Jay Wilson from his old company, knock JW unconscious, put him in a crate and mail him to Bioware.
Chilton himself and his buddies he brought to Blizzard are doing an amazing work. Who knows if another one can save this disaster. Sad thing is that they really have good developers in D3, but with a lame management.
