Dude, that is absolute genius! My wife saw that reply and was quite impressed at your strategy.

My wife is a "quality time" lady, so I'm screwed!
I hear you there. I have to make sure I put the "quality time" in also. Will it be difficult next week because of that? We actually went to a marriage counselor a couple years ago and to my amazement the counselor defended me playing video games and even raiding. She compared it to some guys going out and playing basketball a couple times a week.

I have read people writing about how their wives or gfs hate Diablo or video games in general. I was in this same situation when I first got married. My wife hated when I would raid in WOW.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
So I decided that since I was rewarding myself with Diablo III after a good semester(I would have done it even if it was a bad one lol) I would try to make her have something good too. The whole idea is to equate good experiences and memories with the release in hopes to slowly change her mind on video games.
For the last week I have been doing the spring cleaning that she normally does. I have just been doing an hour or so each night until release as a thanks to her for being cool about me playing and bothering her all the time with my excitement. It doesn't have to be something this big, but some type of positive reinforcement might help. I have been doing this for the past couple game releases and I must say it has been working.
She was happy enough that she volunteered to cook me all of my favorite meals next week, 3 meals a day plus desserts, etc. Here are some of the things she is cooking:
Homemade orange rolls
Slow cooked roast
homemade pizza (from scratch!)
a burger run to my favorite burger joint
rice krispie treats
fresh fruit platters
the list goes on, but you get the idea. She has gone from a wife who absolutely despised video games of any kind to being someone who appreciates that I have a hobby that I love and even helping me to enjoy it more. I of course support her in her hobbies in return. Now my wife still doesn't like playing video games, but she is not anti-video game for me. Yes I do have an awesome wife:)
Does anyone have any experience good or bad with their gf or spouse? Or just some really good plans for release?

I got an invite because I was lucky enough to have seen a website that sent out 500 on a random web surfing morning. I signed up and got in right away. I played once but then decided to wait until release so I could avoid any spoilers and just fully enjoy a new experience on release.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
A sigil is fine, but adding something under a feat of strength will surely get them a lot of flak. I mean I understand a lot of beta testers put a lot of time and effort into playing and giving feedback and that merits thanks if blizzard wants. I don't know what an appropriate reward would be though.

Ill certainly try. I didn't play any difficulties but normal on Diablo 2, but I am definately going to go through Nightmare and Hell and try Inferno on Diablo 3.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

It can be a positive to have little hype because you will be pleasantly surprised when you play the game and find you are having the time of your life.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Personally, I am just trying to make it through the next week. Time is going by so slowly lol. I have been preparing and getting ahead in school so I will be ready for next week.

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from forumbrah12345how many expansions are expected?
Expect at least one, possibly more. They really planned this game for longevity. The first expansion is likely 1-2 years out and will probably raise the level cap, etc. The usual stuff.
However, I would not be surprised at all if there were two expansions for Diablo 3.
I agree with Rawk that there will be plenty of notice so I wouldn't worry about it. I would say at least 3-6 months before there is talk about an expansion from Blizzard, possibly several more than that. So you will have a while before you have to worry.

On a scale of 1-10, How excited are you for the coming infernal RELEASE of Diablo 3 - The Daily threadposted a message onI am more excited for this game than any other game I have ever bought! By a fair margin. Does that answer your question?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Truth be told several months ago I wasn't even sure if I would buy this game. The more I watched the videos and followed all the info coming out, the more excited I got. Now I am counting down and the next 9.5 days are going to be extremely hard. For some reason waiting years was hard, but the last 10 days are pure torture.
