It really, really depends on the community and where you live.

After seeing this post, I thought I would actually see what my city's demographics were.

Only 16,000 people; about 10,000 of them are between 18-65. So that leaves 10k people potentially to fight over any new game that comes out. And of those 10k, I don't think many have a pc, play pc games, buy a new game the night it comes out, and willing to go get it at midnight. I am going to guess that I will see maybe 10 people at the store at midnight for launch day.

Walmart may sell more over time as people go shopping, or the weekend hits, or people's paydays come around, but launch night; I am officially guessing I will have 10 people in line at Midnight.

planning to go to walmart or target to get the CE for midnight release....curious what is a safe time to get there to ensure i get a copy (i get off work at 6)?

This is a real benefit for me as I live in a tiny community, but have a Walmart in our town. When I went to get Skyrim on launch day, the wife and I went at 11 PM and there was nobody there. We decided to go across the street to Taco Bell and have a snack. We got back @ 11:45 PM and there was like 4 people in line. As we waited for midnight, the line might have gotten up to 15 people at the most.

Of all those in line, only my wife and I were there for the PC version; and there was 1 other guy for a PC version. The rest were all there for game console versions.

So it really depends on how many gamers are in your area and how many of them are willing to go at midnight to get it. I live in a small town, not many gamers, and out of those gamers, not many are PC gamers. So the line is nothing.

I should say though, that the line was for Skyrim; as there could be a lot more who are interested Diablo III than Skyrim. I will still probably head over there at 10:45. It is only about 7 minutes away. If there is no line, I will go to Taco Bell for a snack. B)

PS my dad can beat up your dad, I have a 3 foot long member, I own 9 cars, a mansion, two cottages and a beach house, and sleep with a model wife.

Yeah right, who in their right mind would own 2 cottages. I think you made that part up.

who knows, maybe if that STILL isnt enough they will add some sort of additional storage. they did it in warcraft with void storage. personally i think it would be cool to have 2 stashes. one for your whole account, and another character-based like d2 was.

I was just remembering how I could have a full IK set sitting in the wings, other sets to try out for new character leveling, MF gear for my barb and for my sorceress, special gear for my necromancer builds, etc...

With the new Diablo III, I will be content on maybe sticking to just having a checklist to mark off things I have found.

Again though, this is all a guess at the moment how it will work out since we don't even know how many full sets of gear there will be. ATMA just made it so you could collect all sets of gear to wear anytime you wanted to try it out. With D3, we won't get that flexibility. We will have to be selective on what sets we want to try and fulfill.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

I don't know how this will play out, but I am curious if anyone believes we will be able to 'collect' in D3?

In D2, we could collect every known item using a 3rd party software (ATMA). My wife and I loved collecting everything, but I wonder if we will be able to in D3? My initial viewing and understanding of the stash is that there will not be enough room to collect everything.

Anyone know for sure if collecting will be out of the question? I realize that I could buy multiple copies of D3 with multiple accounts to have more stashes to use; but at $60 a pop, I won't do that just so I can see if I can find everything in the game.

    Gentlemen...

This, is exactly the reason why you marry a gamer yourself, these situations just don't arise lol. Playing co-op games with a gamer wife is like spending quality time to them. Night out at the movies, Dinner at a restaurant, Trying to survive Inferno together, all the same when you have a gamer wife.

    EXACTLY!

I will go to Walmart and get 2 copies @ midnight. Come home and install them, create the account for her and have it all ready to go when she wakes up in the morning to give a quick spin before she is off to work. Me, I have taken the day off so I can play an all day session.

When she gets home from work, I can give her the details of what I did and how it is going so maybe it will help her. We are both playing barbs on the first run through so we will have our main avatar that we solo with, and another alt for when we play as a team. I can get to the game room right after dinner, she has to wait until the kitchen is cleaned up. :-) But when we are together, we will be kicking azz and taking names as a team.

I remember 30 years ago, I told her I have hobbies, you need to get some. She has taken most of the hobbies I do and loves them. So if you are going to have a significant other, tell them to have a hobby in life as you will. If you are lucky, they will like the ones you do and you also might get 30+ years out of the relationship.

Hell, we will be so tired and exhausted from clearing dungeons, we might miss sex the first week of Diablo III's release!
