While it is clear that you're right in your points, I would still consider this not to be an issue for players like me. Believe me, I liked the system of diablo II. But my issue was that I didn't understand it as I was too young and not having English as my native language. This is of course a weird statement but I would also like to make the bold argument that the complexity of diablo II was also what made me hate it for what it was. I can't even get into a game without being spammed by traders. items were dropping around like mofo's and I really never progressed in my gearing because I found something insane in lower levels that just outruled every other weapon I picked up. There was no feel of getting better, no feel of randomness when I found that low level weapon. Now, this is of course what I've gathered from later on in diablo II, when I was young I was just happy I could slay the demons of hell.
So why isn't the new system a problem for me? Because I've made two characters. One I bought items from the AH almost every 10 levels, optimizing myself to become a wrecking ball of awesome flames. The other one was hard, tough and I really had to farm levels and gear to progress which I am now in hell with. I actually had fun with both characters, believe it or not.
Secondly, I'm not a fan of yellow text anyways. Looks like pee.
P.S: I'm 100% sure they'll change the loot system anyways. Probably for the better with community members just like you. You seem to know where the shizzle (poop) is at and how to fix it.

Oh, and for those who doesn't know vision quest builds: I hold hex, Gargantuan, grasp of the dead, soulharvest and spiritwalk on CD to get an enormous amount of mana regen. This makes me capable of spamming Dire bats with an insane output of damage.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura

Dedicating this topic to show off builds that's viable for inferno (be it either A1 or A4 you're at).Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
I just got to king in A1, running the usual http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#cZUTRd!UbX!aacZZZ. Vision quest build. Have had no problems so far and I'm doing solo.
Grasp of the dead, 80 % slow: This already saved my ass so much in hell, I've decided to stick with it forever, whatever build I do some would like another long CD CC instead, I don't and it seems to work so far.
Dire bats: Bread and butter of the build really. My only damage spell. Having some issues with mana even with Vision quest up... Probably just a matter of gear I guess!
Spirit walk healing journey: Although jaunt could be better for getting away and getting in my CC's etc, I decided to go with healing journey. Saves a lot of asswhipin' when you're on 500hp and the cd just finishes
Gargantuan Restless giant: Two reasons I picked this.
1. It's dying pretty damn fast in inferno so far, I'd like it to take a few hits whilst doing optimal damage so it's not just a wall of flesh.
2. Vision Quest...
Hex Jinx: I'd maybe change this to big bad voodoo but it's a great thing to get away with and/or gives an advantage in weird situations (belial can get hexed... lulz?)
Soul harvest Siphon: I actually do great damage without soul harvest, but it's just such a great boost. And harvest Siphon can put you on top after a fast spirit walk when you're dying.
Passives: I might change Blood Ritual to Spirit Vessel (the one that saves your ass when you're dying every 90 seconds) when I get better gear and feel like mana isn't an issue
Please be constructive to others and post a reason why you're doing what you do!

Used Dire bats on my WD from lvl 31-60 and I've had great fun with it. Can't complain about not hitting anything as it seems to me they're easy to control in the way you want. Yes, they're not acting in a straight line. Yes, I'm only talking about one rune. But no, they're not bad. I like the nuke, they're my mana spender. Especially with Big Bad Voodoo / rain dance. Doing pretty good in Hell, soon done with act 4.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
If you're complaining about the other runes then I have no clue to be honest. I haven't even tried most of them...

I don't get this. Normal IS EASY! it's supposed to be a walk in the park. Hell, I even beat nightmare without any effort. I don't get what all this inferno is about, people complaining about being OP when they haven't even gotten to hell difficultyPosted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
I'm playing Hell on act 4 as a witch doctor lvl 60 and soon done killing diablo after I've got some better gear. And you want to know why this is important to the topic? I can't say if Witch doctors are UP because I'm not even at the hardest difficulty.
This is like saying warriors in wow are OP because I beat lvl 1-20 with ease.

The way I see it is that WD is capable of hit n' runs that barbarian will never be, hence making the comparison to mobility invalid.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
With other words:
A barbarian HAS to get pretty close, even with use of leap to kill ANYTHING.
A WD can throw some jars, toads or bats, spawn some zombies and blow them up while moving on, since he's usually reliant on range casts, he would be able to hit first if it wasn't for a mobility skill like leap :). You can usually run while casting, catching up to your friend.
Yes, it might be a problem in normal and nightmare since your friend will run faster than you. But when fights lasts longer than just a few seconds, the issue won't be as big as you will anticipate. Or at least that's what I think. :)
