This. I'm betting there are mechanics (one of the achievements for the Butcher hints that there might be one) for some of these fights to inflate our damage or increase their damage taken. Regardless, we're in for some long fights

For the same reason they're opening servers at a not so convenient time. Blizzard doesn't want like half the planet hammering their login servers at the same time.
Probably helps it during an actual work week... yah know when Blizzard is at work. If there are any issues be more likely to fix compared to a Sunday.
EDIT: I can't think of any Blizzard release that was on a weekend for quite awhile.
Three reasons why media is typically released on tuesdays: Sales Figures are released on Monday so they have a full week to report their numbers, consumers know when to look for new releases and if a Tuesday release is selling well, there still is time to order more before the weekend.
Correct, although I would like to point out that Skyrim did very well at launch and was released on a Friday (what a glorious weekend that was)
