Through normal, you won't needs crazy good gear to beat it and play through. If you play decent you can do alright. If you wanna play it safe, a more ranged class may be the way to go granted they are generally a bit squishier at the start.
Blizz has limited the keys for abilities to this because it is just diablo tradition. You can do some binding for fast swapping, but if your playing casually it isn't very necesary. Just go with the flow of the game and play around with skill combos. You will find your niche.
I'm getting the same result, too, error 12, no license attached. Probably the whole thing hasn't started yet. I think it's supposed to start at 22 pm for Bulgaria, so just a few hours to go.
For anyone with the "error 12" blizz has stated that the most successful fix for this is to change your password on your batte.net account. This will cause your account information to "refresh" then you can simply change it back to what it was. Hopefully this will help anyone who isn't reading front pages here or blizz forumns!
