    D2 is made by god, D3 is made by blizzard employees.
    And those "gods" tried to make Diablo 3 a MMO game, and made Hellgate: London...
    ...and then Path of Exile. All is forgiven.

    My account was just unbanned, I received an email from Blizzard admitting they made a mistake, and they gave me a free copy of RoS Collector's Edition as a token of their apology, I guess.
    Gratz on getting it resolved. At least you got a band-aid for the suffering.

    Reading through the posts in this thread just shows you that Blizzard customer support has a lot of room for improvement (starting with making safer games = lot less work for them).

    Maybe next game (not heard about any hacking in HS, there are plenty of bugs though) they will make it more secure. They have the money for it.

    Considering the extent one's account has to go to even GET actually banned, I'm going to be a Blizzard fanboy and say that I give them the benefit of the doubt; you were doing something wrong
    Secondly, what do you hope will happen here, on these forums? Raise an army of people by your side and march down to Blizz HQ?
    Also, lol @ "I had read somewhere that player's mouse and keyboards 'somehow' trigger their third party detection system.
    And finally, you were given an email warning before the banning. Probably should have checked up on dat.
    1. Way to be cynical.
    2. Sometimes you just gotta tell somebody.
    3. Several people got banned for this. Happened to several roughly 1 or 2 patches after launch, not heard anything about it after that wave though, so I guess Blizzard fix the false flags for that one.
    4. I've gotten like 20+ emails from Blizzard about warnings, all because I'm behind a DNS server which switches my IP every now and then. Not played D3 for almost a year.

    @OP
    I agree that Blizzards customer service is definitely focused on quantity instead of quality. Sometimes you just gotta take your licks and move on.

    Not for me. I played D2 on and off for around 5 years, 90% of the time Necromancer. 80% of the time solo.
    In D3, 90% Witchdoctor, 90% solo.
    I don't normally see eye-to-eye with Bagstone on this particular subject here....

    But how in the world did you manage to enjoy D2 playing 90% necro, but cannot enjoy RoS playing 90% WD?

    If anything, Smart Loot is much more friendly to people who focus mostly on one class than anything that Diablo has seen before. My personal feelings aside, if you play mostly one class, I'm not sure how you don't see Smart Loot as a big upgrade to your quality of life. If you're trying to say 100% of the loot should be for the character you play, well, I disagree entirely.
    I don't know if I would or wouldn't enjoy playing RoS... I didn't buy it. I quit before RoS released, I decided that I didn't like the directions they were taking Diablo (3 biggest grips; CHC/CD interaction, AH removal & missing season/ladder with loot system that's good for it) so I didn't buy the expansion.

    I like the idea of Smart Loot (should be 95-99% imo + 4-1%side table for follower you are using), one of the few things I've seen them do right in the patches/expansions. But I would rate having an AH slightly better to having Smart Loot.

    A few games (that I can remember off the top of my head) I've been playing since Diablo 3, which have given me more fun: FTL (fun rogue-light), Transistor (game of the year), Mark of the Ninja (stealth game done right), Heartstone (one match per day, keeps the boredom away), Civ V (not quite as good as Alpha Centauri), LoL solo/ranked (when you need to remind yourself that kids are dicks, they really need a 25+ server).

    So what would I do/feel if I got like the perfect Barb drop? I would do nothing, but DE the item, and I would feel sad cause I could have gotten something nice from the AH.
    You either team up with other people - someone in group will take that "perfect barb drop". Or you keep it somewhere in your stash, at some point you might change your mind and try out the barb.

    People asked for exactly that - serendipitous discovery. Getting items that give them an incentive to try something new; a new build, a new class. Having 100% smart loot would kill this 100%. Note that I was a fan of 100% smart loot for a long time, but like now that you sometimes get different loot.
    Not for me. I played D2 on and off for around 5 years, 90% of the time Necromancer. 80% of the time solo.

    This is one of the reasons I stopped playing D3 when they closed down the AH.

    I felt I lost my chance to get the kind of gear I want, as it would now be all up to luck and time spent, instead of at least partially being able to rely on trading. The only people benefiting from the all random loot list, are people playing all classes, not someone like me having spent 90% of my time playing WD.
    Wrong. If you play your WD only, you will get WD smart loot. That means that 85% of your items will be specifically suited to fit your class. Only 15% of the loot you get will be off-class loot.

    But yeah, if the AH was the main reason for you to play D3 then you're better off not playing this game; it's never coming back.
    So what would I do/feel if I got like the perfect Barb drop? I would do nothing, but DE the item, and I would feel sad cause I could have gotten something nice from the AH.

    The AH was never my main reason for playing D3, I didn't even use it that much (think I was about +-0 gold around the time I stopped playing). But it just being there, gave me at least the dream of obtaining the gear I wanted with the time I spent. Much like Enigma runeword in D2, never completed one (only play HC) but I got close a few times, which was enough to keep me going.

    posted a message on Microtransactions: What would you pay for?
    Well for Diablo 3 microtransactions would be the wrong way to go, since it's got a pretty hefty price-tag on it already.

    But what I've payed for before (mircotransaction wise) was in League of Legends for a few skins, but that's only because I felt I owed them 20-30 bucks at least, considering how much I've played it. So I buy a new skin every now and then.

    I also play Heartstone, but don't feel I owe Blizzard anything after 6 years of playing WoW (and buying 4+ copies of Diablo 2 I think, to give to friends), so I'm happy to play that one for free ^^

    P.S. If I owned RoS and had the time I would throw my hat in the race, but I don't have either atm ^^;

    Sounds like he's connecting to the wrong region. Diablo 3 players can create characters on any region -- he needs to check the other regions and see if his hardcore characters are on those.
    That's what I was thinking as well. Check your regional setting.

    posted a message on Dots don't crit, thus tooltips misleading, far less damage than expected
    If the dot crits or not is decided when it's first applied.

    If it did apply, all dots will crit, otherwise none. And yes, it's a very bad solution. One of the main reasons I didn't buy RoS.

    posted a message on Heavenly Strength -- Lets talk about it.
    Well it's clearly atm not the most must have passive compared to other classes, facts speak for themselves (comparing HC, it is high on SC but I don't play SC);

    WD: Spirit Vessel 90.28%

    MO: One with Everything 83.86%

    WZ: Unstable Anomaly 81.01%

    CU: Heavenly Strength 79.47%

    DH: Perfectionist 76.69%

    BA: Unforgiving 58.65%

    Carrying a 2hand+shield is ridiculous, even for a crusader. The fact that our shields gives a considerable DPS boost, you have to have some kind of debuff on the passive. If you want to use heavenly strength and you don't have a Hellskull yet, until then reset those paragon points into movement speed or use steed. It's really not hard. This is the point of diablo, to maximize the potential of your character in any way possible. The new Paragon system supports that philosophy very IMO.
    You must understand, that shield is not giving as much damage as any other offhand. Wiz and WD have additional ~300 dmg, and DH has up to 20% AS. And offhands for these classes can have up to five primary affixes, whereas one affix is 'wasted' (as in doesn't increase damage) for shield block chance. Which is up to a 20% by default.
    Hmmm... I would rather get the ~1000 dmg a 2hander gives over my crappy WD offhands ^^;

    Hahaha, thank you for that one. Made my day.

    Sorry didn't read the rest yet. Just had to comment on this part. Do you know what the phrase "arguably the..." means ^^? Well first you say it's not reasonably arguable then you go and give a counter-argument... which is sorta what MAKES something arguably anything ^^
