I don't often make an issue of revealing my gender since it can garner unwelcome attention. Civil communities where you are treated with respect because you make constructive contributions (regardless of age/gender/orientation/whatever) don't usually care that I'm a woman anyway.

I find that harping on my boyfriend for being a gamer is far less productive than jumping in and playing with him, but then I've always been a gamer. No reason to let something like VIDEO GAMES generate conflict in your relationship. If you are old enough to be in a relationship, you should be old enough to communicate, set some reasonable boundaries, and compromise.
