I'm with the OP on the "not caring about the console ports" part. However, there are people who are looking forward to its release. Just suffer through it until the dust settles.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from ShamMy wife's monk score doesn't seem that accurate since she can do MP10 very easily. Rates her for MP9.
My wizard is rated correctly as MP10 which is very easy for me as well.
Not sure if people character's are being down-rated because of specs as well?
Remember, the system ranks you on a balance of easy + efficiency. Your wife can easily do MP10, but monsters die a lot faster in MP9. From their FAQ:
DiaBro3, why is my optimal MP level so low?
DiaBro3 is determined to make the game fun for you. The optimal monster power level is derived from multiple aspects, taking into account your gear, effective health, and damage. We arrived at the suggested MP by aiming to lower the amount of deaths per run as well as how efficiently you can kill mobs. We know that someone optimized for MP5 could do MP10, however, taking too long on an elite pack is just not optimal.
We do not want to send you to an monster power level you can get by on, we want to send you somewhere you can optimally crush the content.
Also, I think the site has benchmarks that determine where it's going to place you. For example, your wife could be slightyly lower than Diabro's benchmark for meeting MP10, explaining why she's able to do it so easily, and at the same time, being rated at MP9.

I agree with TB on everything he talked about. It's no surprise that the media maligns video games every chance they get. It's ironic that I gave a college presentation defending video games 2 days ago.Posted in: Off-Topic

Good God, man. I would crap my pants if I found a legendary at all. I could only imagine what would happen if I found something like that...Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

As others have stated, the resists are a bit low, but my question is why +armor for the weapon? I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just kind of random, as all the other gems have attributes that would normally appear on weapons. Perhaps switching the helm and weapon stats would make more sense?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Quote from IrixianI think there should be sapphires and diamonds. They should do the following -
Sapphire - [weapons] chance to freeze on hit, [helm] skill cooldown reduction, [armor] crowd control reduction
Diamond - [weapons] block chance/parry, [helm] damage reduction (melee/ranged?), [armor] all resist (up to 60)
Sapphires focus on strategic decisions that would naturally arise from a gem that mirrors "cold" attributes.
Diamonds have the best, most global kinds of buff bonuses because they're the most precious gems. Diamonds are defense gems.
I have no idea what maximums to put to these, but I think they could all be balanced so they were neither game breaking nor preferred over existing gems for "obvious build" choices.
Hmmm, I didn't even realize until you said something that diamonds are missing too

Pretty much any increase to legendary/set item drops is a welcome change, regardless of the actual numbers. I seriously wish they would fix the setting saving between live and PTR, as it gets kind of annoying to constantly have to delete d3prefs.txt and replace it with a copy that I made previously.Posted in: News & Announcements
