posted a message on Best places to farm/level 1.05
The best farming routes will totally depend on mob density.
    act 1
    festering woods
    watch tower
    whimsyshire

    act 2
    Vault of the assasin
    blackstone canyon (?)

    act 3
    alkaizerx farming route

I'm going to try out vault but alkaizerx's farming route is ridiculous (As a soon to be nerfed barb), 1 minute to kill 3-5 packs and most other's take about 30 sec to locate and kill. One thing to remember is that if it takes you 30 sec to kill a ranged pack it's time to go find the next pack. Not worth the time.

It will probably be most optimal to do a farming route and cap it with killing the key wardens build up some machines and make some rings.

However I like everyone else is farming out some rings then flipping to farming.

posted a message on No Unique Drops ...
If your looking at farming legendaries and 6 property rares what your interested in is the amount of item drops and your magic find.

The Ilvl of the legendaries from the barrels is just luck.
I've gotten a legendary sword in act 1 from a barrel that I was able to RMAH for 50 bucks. That doesn't mean breaking barrels in act 1 is the way to go.

Check out the mf thread but just a quick bit of wisdom the NV stack rare a mob drops has the same chance of being a legendary as any white item you see laying on the ground that dropped from a mob. If you want legends its about getting items to drop, champ packs, white packs boss monsters its about getting those lottery tickets as quick as possible until you hit a jackpot.

Barrels and chests do not take into account mf so if your mf is low and its quicker to click on the barrel enough times for that cracked sword to drop then it is to kill mobs until an item drops go ahead and click on barrels. (you will need 2 items at 100 mf to every mob dropped item, I personally still open resplendent chests but I don't open normal chests)

I've done 3 levels in the 60's without any legendaries.

I normally keep track of the number of runs it takes for me to get one.

the average is around 5 runs however the longest is 19 runs

posted a message on [Suggestion] Keys and/or Organs Should Be Auctionable
If you can auction the organs then the uber geared players will farm them first (they will not have any organs to buy because none exist on the ah yet)

After they craft a few they will turn around and sell them on the ah to the solo players for 10's of millions of gold.

That price would plummet rapidly over the first week and average out to something obtainable to the average players.

The average players would never need to actually kill the ubers to get the ring they just have to farm some gold wait a month and get their welfare best slot in game legendary.

I would like to see a million gold craft cost on it, that would be a money and time sink.

If I could auction them I would craft 2 rings (one for me and one for my follower) take the week off of work and just farm them as long as the prices stayed high. I can safely and quickly farm Mlvl 5 on the ptr, not as good as the streamers a little slow (about 1/2 there speed) but still would probably be making bank.

As it stands expect the streamers to sell mlvl10 runs for 20-50 mil

posted a message on Need help to be able to handle act 3 better (geartip)
You have some good gear pared with bad gear.

drop 15% dodge guardians path for resolve 25% dmg reduction

dodge tanking is ok in theory but it leads to spikes where you don't dodge several hits in a row and go splat

several pieces you need to pick up all resist + fav resist which you have mixed between poison and cold. Pick one.

Gear goes for cheap now a days there are multiple upgrades for you that I've vendored because I couldn't get anyone to buy them in the auction time frame for 50 k.

Do not try and get all your stats on one piece, your trying to get your dex real high, I get that but your sacrificing survival which you can't do for act 3.

You are multiple upgrades off clearing it quickly.
clearing it without struggle you have to drop your dps down and pick up defensive stats (probably takes a while as is to clear stuff)
pick up crit (for tornado spawning which procs loh) and resist all + fav resist personal pref is 900 res all 6k ac
    30k -40k hp

    I'd upgrade shoulders first

You can cancel auctions, so I tend to find about what I think something is worth, do a run, drop prices, do a run, drop prices until it sells.

If it goes to 50 k and doesn't sell I vendor it.

One thing I will say is the ww barb is a lot faster then any other class at the moment (in my opinion) I leveled one and while it is expensive to gear there is plenty of guides on how to gear and honestly most of my gear has been pretty cheap.

For making money at the moment it is all about the legendaries so mob dense area's are good.

posted a message on WW Barb Questions (Help Please)
Monks now get a overcap 10% passive so your looking at 35 % run speed vs the barbs 65%

The barb is still faster because he can damage stuff while moving, when I'm running it anything that can keep up gets kitted to the next pack and killed together.

the entry point for me in act 3 was
    600 all res
    5k ac
    1400 loh
    30k hp
    30k dps

I was able to clear all packs at this point, little slow some deaths to stupidity some kitting with torando.

you can drop the extra loh the higher your mitigation

As far as weapons a mighty weapon reduces the crit requirement as your gaining rage from hits which is a smoother run but less dmg.

There are points where your rage starved and can't sprint around and whirl which you really need to be doing or you will get surrounded and go splat.

posted a message on Paragon Levels stupid?
Paragon levels are essentially like AA's from EQ (Alternate Advancement)

    It is amazing.

I hope they do more with it like EQ did and let you get
    passive runspeed
    passive crit
    cirt dmg
    resource regen

    etc

posted a message on The end of Magic Find
I think the real important part is the 300 cap pre neph valor.
They said nothing about shrine but I'm going to guess like neph valor thats over cap.

What that means is while 100 is not attainable quickly what about 50?
150 mf/gf is not bad leaving 150 for your gear.
Good pieces of mf gear will still be very valuable while the helm/amulet + another piece is all you need, replacing one of those mf pieces though will take 6 paragon levels which just might be enough time to find that elusive upgrade.

posted a message on Can/should AH barons be controlled?
Nothing is going to stop the AH barons.
Any rules you put up they will just work around and it will end up hurting normal players more then them.
What is going on right now is mudflation.
Look at the many guides of people clearing inferno with less then 1 mil gold.
This economy will continually devalue mediocre gear while the 6 property god items are going to go sky high when one of those barons wants an upgrade or a new skill / build gets buffed/nerfed.

I've yet to go 10 runs through act 1 with 300 + mf without finding an upgrade.
I'm not sure how many people ground out AA in EQ or ground out pvp items in wow when it was first implemented
Diablo 3 is extremely rewarding in comparison.
I just wish they had left the levels in, I miss the AA feel of out lvling the content.

posted a message on RMAH - Success Stories (if any...?)
The RMAH is an extra 10 auction slots.

however as other people have pointed out you want to put medium ticket items in the RMAH

a two dollar item nets you 85 cents after fee's

a 500k gold auction nets you 90 cents after selling the gold

Just be aware of the price points

posted a message on Nerfing gear swapping will have unintended consequences on Act 2/3/4 farming
The next time you do a farm count your total rares and subtract how many guaranteed rares you get from packs, bosses, and destructables.

That is the amount that mf helped you obtain.

The problem with Act 2 and 3+4 is not the amount of ilvl 63 rares, it's the amount of deaths.
    Deaths cost money and time.

As pointed out the chests have blues and blue 1k weapons still sell.

You aren't factoring in how important NV stacks are.
You aren't factoring in travel time (as shaggy pointed out)

    you get 175 mf base
    for act 2
you need to clear at the same rate in act 1 at 350 mf

or act 3 at the same rate at numbers not attainable at the moment.

As you gear you will face roll act 3 + 4 eventually just not this month.

posted a message on Wow, who is lame enough to want a gear switch button?
I did ending up posting on their blue request and I do not think that gear swapping is fun, I do it, but it's not fun.

When I do my runs I normally pick easier content ACT 1 + 2 and steam roll it with 300 mf and decent dps.

When I compare the rate I kill things there to the rate I kill things in pony land or act 3+4 its the same amount of 63 gear without the deaths. I figure in one to two months or if I blow all the gold I've been saving to RMAH I could farm act 3+4 but it requires thought.

Act 1 + 2 do not require thought, it's a mindless farm and great for long sessions of grinding.

If they are going to do gear swapping I really hope they just let you have a mf/gf set and let you get the mf/gf of the 2ndary set when you are at a 5 stack of neph valor.

All the joys of gear swapping without the hassle.

You would still need a high mf and stat set for farming gobos.

Best way to play is still farming packs.

posted a message on Damage Reduction Analysis
I agree with Elkaylon the formulas for these really need to compare apples to apples
If your going up to 10k ac you should go up to 1k resists your chart is very skewed when you only go to 200 resists

posted a message on Inferno Act3-4 Tanking
Gear without + resist is almost useless, and it needs other stats on top of that so only a small subsection of loot even has a chance of being good at the moment

We could probably bust out the math at very high lvl of resists (where you are) and see if some of the modifiers for physical dmg reduction are better then resists but you basically are going to want both.

Are you getting lvl 60 gear with every drop? One of my biggest gripes right now is that I kill something and get a lvl 54 rare, I think they should at a bear minimum give me lvl 60 gear for every drop so I have a chance at an upgrade.

I started in on act 2 inferno and was forced to go back to act one to farm gear
I was finally able to get my first act 2 champ pack down last night and was really hoping I could keep that momentum going forward but it sounds like after you completed act 2 you had to regear for act 3-4? (we were thinking of just killing bosses to get to act 3 as act 2 is kind of annoying)

I'm playing a monk and would be very interested in the skill selection your monk is going with along with total AC, resists, any dmg reduction by %

As far as tanking goes you have several o shit buttons as a monk, all of which are on timers so it really goes tank - kite - tank -kite
a sort of running retreat (unless you get some easy pack) The problem is that when you blow a cool down such as invulnerability your left with a delima of should you attack for those glorious few seconds or should you reposition yourself (i play solo or with my bro who is a wiz) sometimes if you have the mobs in graveyard zerg range you just have to do dmg during those seconds to build the spirit for other abilities

I know that tanking for the moment sucks but it really is only week 2 of a brand new game It will get better as the gear drops come and just hope that what your doing doesn't get nerfed to hell. As long as your keeping a rolling neph valor stack your doing amazing. If your not it probably means you need to farm more.
