Nah, this happens to everyone. It is typically caused when the server and client get out of sync. The client gets input from you and predicts your next position on each frame. However, the server is still the authority on what actually happens here. They usually agree on the details, but if the client makes a prediction that differs from the server's response then the client must correct, and you see this rubber band effect. It happens to me on my Wiz.
There could certainly be other factors at play (i.e., more prone to happen when using ability X, a bug in the client and/or server, etc.), but this is usually why it occurs.

Really?
This horribly formed, ill-conceived argument... again?
"Customization" in Diablo II is a lie. Period.
When it came to stats you either did it the right way, i.e. enough str/dex to wear gear and the rest into vitality, or your character sucked. Having a choice between doing it one way or sucking is not really customization.
As for skills, so many were broken or pointless that there was only a handle of builds for each class. No one pumped lower level skills except as synergies, and anything worth taking was worth putting 20 points into 99% of the time, so skill points were fairly trivial as well. Almost every viable spec in Diablo II was based around 1 or 2 skills, so for all those dozens of skills spread out over three skill trees you used... one. Maybe two. Plus whatever was needed to get to them.
Enter Diablo III, where each class has 25~ viable skills, X5 skill runes for each, and six slots to put them in. That's a few billion possible combinations for each class without even talking about the 13~ passives for each class that will be quite game changing. But with a few billion ways to do it decently and conceivably thousands of way to do it really well, we're already talking about more customization than Diablo II ever dreamed of.
And did I mention that all of Diablo III's skills will work, and have working resource systems that are class appropriate to back them up?
Now enter in Diablo III's item pool. I'm betting it will be larger than Diablo II's anyway, but as we've already seen, the real defining factor here is that even the level 60 legendaries in Diablo III have randomized stats on them. Not randomized within a pre-existing selection of stats like the Diablo II items, but mod pools that will actually make two of the same legendary items essentially different items. Most customization in Diablo II was gleaned from the item selection, period. Enigma changed the game forever, entire specs were designed around it, etc. So instead of people determining the value of nice items in an asinine way like the defense on a Shako (aka Harlequin Crest), we'll actually be seeing trades done based on relevant things, and more importantly, we'll have a ton of customization options based on the randomized items we're finding. Not that there won't be tons of reason to stick to items that drastically increase our current character's primary attribute, but there will be tons of other things to consider as well.
I could expand on the consideration you posed as well as my answer, but since I've already fought and won this battle, I'll simply refer you to my blog post about it that was taken off the D3 forums:

Same shit!
PS: Yes I know you have to use more than one skill, but given the fact that diablo2 focused on using 2 skills I think its more than a fair substitute. -

It's still in beta. Also the max level is 13. Certainly not an accurate representation of level 60 play. They don't balance the game around level 13 Skeleton King. I'm sure Blizzard will make sure all classes are close to one another in damage at end game. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Yeah OP is fucking retarded.
I'd say kblav is fairly accurate with 1 legendary in 100 hours for d3, seems to line up with my experience. In d2 I would get a unique worth keeping like once every hour if not more often than that so again, OP is fucking retarded.
I understand blizzards logic that it's fun to roll that perfect item, the problem is i can't even roll a half perfect item. 300 hours played and i wouldn't say i have found a single "good" item. If it weren't for the things i had to go to the AH to buy, i'd still be wearing a +1 burlap sack.
For a game that is supposed to be so much fun for "the item hunt", all my items have come from "the item grocery store". Fail blizzard...hard fail.

lolol. It took a single dedicated night and maybe another 2 hours the next day to "level" is d2. By level I mean get high enough to wear all your toons end game gear, 75-85 range. Hitting 99 is pointless and by no standard a core part of the game.
99 is there so autistic children have a repetative motion to occupy their time. But good job beating your friends with your "hard work" aka no working job at all.

Holy balls. You logged just short of 115 hours in a week since release. Let's see that's about 16.5 hours a day which leaves only 7.5 hours a day for sleeping showering and preparing food, and I'll assume no job. Are you seriously complaining that the game is beaten already when you did nothing but sleep, eat, breath, and diablo with zero moderation for 7 days? I'd be more angry if I didn't beat the game twice over at that point.
And i'll have to agree with others: audible lol at "a pug from my friends list". Just because you haven't flown to their home city to shake their hand doesn't make it a pug, you even said that you knew they played well from previous experience.
If that counts then I've pugged a lot of hardmode raids. Sure it was all in guild, but by your logic...
