Levelling characters will still be a thing in RoS.Quote from Artemix
That's weird, why introduce common debris then at all? if it is usable for such short amount of time.

Sorry, I'm getting the expected "The Battle.net service is down for maintenance....." message. Are you launching the game from the Battle.net desktop client?Quote from nthersx
Whats the launcher saying when you try to launch d3 on EU ? Mine is stuck with "something went wrong with trying to launch a program, bla bla bla". Can't say if its the severs not being up (usually i have maintenance message) or if my game is corrupted.
Anyone else having this message ?

It's at least better than having maintenance at the exact same time all over the world, would render EU players unable to play until late in the evening. So, now that we have cleared up why it is better to have maintenance locally at night, the question is more which regions come first. Surmising that maintenance is conducted locally for each region and the work is being delegated from the global Headquarters in the US to other regions (and maintenance for the Americas is done by the global headquarters), it is easier to do maintenance and check for any issues before this delegation.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

In Vanilla I started off as a Wizard, then ended up switching between Wizard, Barb, and DH. I guess I will try out all 3 before RoS hits but feel that the DH won't make the cut. My guess is Barb or Crusader.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion

Strangely enough, I find D3 has a good (not perfect) mixture of freedom and limitation when it comes to the skill system. I like experimenting with new builds, and Diablo 3 gives me pleanty of opportunities. PoE on the other hand has practically no limitations, and experimenting is very tedious. One other thing I prefer about D3 is the immersive experience. Blizzard as always does a fantastic job at making player actions feel powerful and cool. After playing through the story in PoE my first time I had to ask myself why I killed the Endboss (I even forgot his name LoL). Diablo 3's story may have weak points, but at least it has a story to it.Posted in: Other Games

While the trading of Diablo 2 had its merits, bots and cheats really ruined the experience. In current D3, being able to buy your way to gear just really sucked. No game should ever be pay2win. Microtransactions are OK if they don't give you an actual advantage (such as mounts in WoW or skins in League of Legends).Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
The BoA system has some downfalls (such as not being able to trade for that one legendary you really want for your build), but it only rewards playing with friends even more. D3 should be played as a multiplayer game, period.

I honestly don't think the Swiss can complain. Remember, before the economy crisis, 40 Euros = 60 Swiss Francs (aprox.), while now it's more like 40 Euros = 50 Swiss Francs (Back in 2005 it would have cost the same (numerically) in Dollars as in Euros). Buy the game from the Blizzard store and be happy that you are paying 10 Francs less.Quote from thundersteele
Eur 39 seems to be the standard price for expansion packs in Europe. So no, it is not overpriced.
As for the price difference with the US, don't forget that US prices are indeed before tax, while in the EU on average you have 20% taxes on top of the sales price. So more than half of the higher EU price is indeed due to taxes.
Now, the sad part is when you look at Switzerland. We pay the same EU price despite the taxes being much lower. That's life...
Yes, I know that the Swiss Francs is currently worth more than USD (1:1.10 about), but that is just how the cookie crumbles. Swiss are still paying one sixth less than 8 years ago.

New Internal Patch: New and Changed Passive Effects, Difficulty Rewards, Gem Tiers, New Achievements, Game Options, Class Changeposted a message onLove the removal of CM. Blizzard should remove everything (skills/passives) that adds additional scaling to crit chance. There will otherwise always be some breakpoint above which those skills are very strong and below which they suck.Posted in: News & Announcements

Hello fellow members.
Im very confused why you think the idea about souldbound legendarys is bad, this is the greatest idea i ever heard blizzard announce in ANY diablo game, and im a huuuuuge fan. I could go over 10 very logic reasons why this is good but i will let your simple minds think about this cause i know blizzard staff already figured that out.
Altho i can agree with you about the "2 hours window" with a party, that will mean that it will be SO much better to play as four friends then going alone...Especially for the race at the start. But they already told us they want players to play as a party, but i belive the xp,mf and gold bonus and how it is easier as four different builds/classes already proves that four is the way to go!
Me and my 20 diablo friends this idea!
Best regards Jimmy
Well I can't see this being any good, and yes I have a reason.
Alright so there's tons of legenadry items in the game, you probably wont find all, nor get the specific legendary with some specific stats you want.
I'm rerolling a Crusader in RoS(going to be my main). One of my friends is going to reroll too, if my other 2 friends start again it's likely they might reroll Crusader also.
So 4 crusaders farming in RoS, atleast 1 or 2 of them will most likely be unluckcy with crusader drops, and its most likely gonna be me cause thats just how it works for me, im unlucky.
So obviously there wouldn't be ANY trading whatsoever between us except for our alts, one might go wiz, one DH so we might trade those specific items.
So, at this point, how am I gonna be able to get the items I want? Doesn't look like I am, unless the item has alot greater drop chance then those legendaries today, and rolls most of the time really good. Which then will not make Diablo 3 good, cause if its like console where every other item rolls 1300 dps, sox, 300str 80% critdmg on 1h.... no thanks. I want a game I can play for 2 years and not get bored, not a game I play for 1 week, I'm BIS geared and nothing left to do.
OR if it's gonna be abit of a challange to get items you might have to play 5000 hours to get the gears you want. That is also not fun.
I don't really wanna settle with just any good ring or weapon, I wanna end up using the ring or weapon or any other gear piece that I WANT.
But hope they don't release RoS with soulbound legendaries, it can't be balanced IMO, either its gonna be too hard or too easy(like console).
Remember that Loot 2.0 will improve personal loot. It could be very possible that legendaries that are useful to your class drop more often for you, somewhat offsetting the disadvantage of the same classes playing together. Additionally, psychology teaches us that we are prone to perceive negative outcomes stronger and remember them better than positive outcomes (at least for young and middle-aged adults). So you probably aren't as unlucky as you think you are. I agree it will be more difficult to get specific legendaries with the new system. We'll see how it plays out. Blizzard obviously wants party play to be the way to go. They want "play to win" instead of "trade to win", which is good. I hope legendaries will be account bound and not character bound.

I'm really excited about the new fire/lightning/frost damage options. I agree with Shad3slayer - Wizard does seem to be getting (so far) the coolest changes (apart from perhaps Weapon throw barb)Posted in: Wizard: The Ancient Repositories
