Posted in: Hardcore DiscussionQuote from JelacI just lost ANOTHER character to network disconnect. 29 hours of my life over 4 days all down the drain. MY 37 wizard RIP. I am surprised that there are no safeguards in place to stop this from happening repeatedly.... I was ok with death one to Netwrok DC... but now... I don't know why I would waste my time.
Sure dying to lag sucks and you get mad. But seriously it's an online game with permanent death so it is bound to happen. The whole point for me with hardcore is not beating the game. It's seeing how long I can take it without dying. Wether it's to mobs or lag doesn't matter.
I mean it's Diablo. You either play hardcore and start over when you die. Or you just do streamlined farming runs at max level in softcore.
You made it to 37 this time. How far can you go next?

Yes absolutely! I plan to play a really tanky barbarian and im going in blind into hardcore as soon as I can.Posted in: Hardcore Discussion
I loved it when I read the changes to health potions from D2 to D3. They said something that the only way to up the difficulty was to outright kill you in D2 since potions let you stay topped off all the time.
So I assumed that they wouldn't just kill your character in D3. I seem to be wrong. Enrage timers have no place in hardcore.

Who doesn't! I can barely sleep anymore. I keep theorycrafting builds hehe.
Been enjoying the discussion so thanks for that fellas!
Have they commented anything on diminishing returns on CC skills like stuns and confuse?
Been toying with the idea for this as a HC barb build: Stunning barbarian!
Does that mean that enemies around me will be stunned 7 of every 12 seconds?

Posted in: Theorycrafting and AnalysisQuote from CasanovaThe only thing I can say is that based on other blizzard titles that they will most likely not stack.
That would be a huge mistake since so many abilities have the same effects. You would have to rearrange your abilities for every game depending on who you play with... Im not saying you are wrong though cause it is entirely possible Blizzard goes that route.
Hoping someone has read an official response from blizzard about it. I mean I can't be the only one wondering about it.

Since many abilities do the same thing. Will they stack or overwrite? Will the more powerful version take precedence?Posted in: Theorycrafting and Analysis
Monk attacks and has the passive Resolve. (25% lowered damage)
Witchdoctor attacks the same enemy and has the passive Bad Medicine. (20% lowered damage)
Barbarian uses Threatening shout. (20% lowered damage)
Im guessing that the mob does not get 65% lowered damage. But will bad medicine and threatening shout not take effect cause resolve lowers damage by more?
Or is it multiplicative? Say the enemy does 100 damage.
Resolve would lower that to 75.
Bad medicine would lower 75 damage to 60.
Threatening shout would lower 60 damage to 48.
For a total of 52% damage reduction?
How about movement speed slows?
EDIT: Shortened it down a bit.
