I think the main ability demon hunters have from a design perspective is adaptability. That is being overlooked here.

When low on gar, you have the best dps producting passives in the game. You need some level of reflex and skill to use them effectively, but they're there. As your gear increases you can swap them out for more utility and customization, which most Demon Hunters do. Vengeance and Tactical for speed farming, Perfectionist if you need the survivability, or one of the many other completely viable skills we have.

You want to be the omgdps 1 shot everything class while retaining utility, and while i salute your embracing your complete madness, this is just not going to happen in reality. While I don't agree with nerfing anything in a dungeon crawler, blizzard has WoW on the brain and feels like they have to balance and rebalance constantly (this also provides a boon to the RMAH). So if you're new to this mentality, welcome to the roller coaster. You can either ride it out, or level 1 of everything and be a fotm player.

The Demon Hunter class has one thing I really don't feel any of the other classes have, and that's a personalized feel. You can be very effective using dark horse builds, and the dropoff isn't exponential from the cookie cutter. Barbs, Wizards, Monks, and WD's all have this problem, there's the one build, then there's everything else. For Demon Hunters, there's tons of variation now, and while it took me some time to come to terms with the orginal round of nerfs to DH's (SS/NT/IAS nerfs), I feel like they're one of the most complete classes at this point in the game. Even the "fun" builds can anhilate a3 at mp 3-5.

If you want to be more powerful, reroll. This also works in life, if you don't like your situation, change it.

why should i reroll just because other classes are stronger?
instead of that i can criticize or make some suggestions on the forums etc.
i don't play classes because they are "oh so powerful". i play them because of their art-, style, lore and skills etc.

this seems to me like the "path of least resistance".

yes, it is a game and so it should be fair in terms of class balance. did you seriously want to see all people running around as barbarians? that would just be plain boring and dull...

This point is this, diablo is a bughunt. Always has been.

Playing or roleplaying a class because of lore or style is fine, but taking a stand against a path of least resistance, then arguing that your path is too hard is insanity. That's exactly what most of the complaining players are doing. Calling one class "easy-mode" or some variation thereof, mocking or belittling the players that utilize that class, then in a consecutive post, calling foul because their chosen class is "broken" or "underpowered". You can't have it both ways, you end up looking like a 5 year old.

On the same mental level, it's the people who don't work, sit in their parents basements, and play various games all day who are vehemantly opposed to the RMAH, and mock those who work 8-10 hours a day, make decent money, and put their dollars into the RMAH. I simply have nothing for these people. Who's the bigger loser here? The person in gg gear with no job, who farmed all their stuff themself, with an epeen the size of NYC? Or the guy making 6 figures, with a wife, 2.5 kids, who spent 2 hours worth of pay to get the same item you farmed 3 days for? The latter generally has zero epeen, because he has genuine self-esteem, and no need for pixels to feed his ego.

It all comes down to perception, and the lack of realistic thought processes.

Ok, I'm going to try to keep this as short and relatively on topic as possible because every time i read posts i'm inspired to rage all over people from a sociological standpoint. This post will be abrasive, so if you're sensitive, just don't read it.

Blizzard's long standing platform of catering to the lowest common denominator has completely diluted the gamer gene pool so to speak. Threads like this, are concrete proof that WoW, and games that have tried to imitate it, have bred a lower intelligence into people.

The constant nerf rollercoaster brought on by whining wastes of DNA screaming "why is this class more powerful than mine?" makes me sick. It's a game.... this is not your life, this is not how you should qualify your existance. This illusion that everything should always be fair is a false lesson to teach. You know what, some poeple were born with a better situation than you, the same way some classes are better than yours, if you want to be more powerful, reroll. This also works in life, if you don't like your situation, change it.

The RMAH and you: If you want to spend money on a game and have it to spend? It's your money to spend, go right ahead. If you want to spend money on a game and don't have the money? GET A DAMN JOB AND GET OUT OF MOM'S BASEMENT.

Single player and co-op: co-op is just as easy as single player. You think instances in wow weren't the same realtive difficulty increase for multiple players, increased by another factor for raids? In this case, I place the blame firmly on the player base. Play with people you know, use a different build for grouping, etc. THE SAME WAY YOU WOULD IN THE FIRST VIDEO GAME EVER CREATED, WOW.

Look I understand you're used to playing games that hand everything to you, there's no RNG, and there's infinite wealth given to everyone, but you know what, maybe that's not gonna be the case this time. You should learn to adapt, it's a very powerful tool.

posted a message on Nether Tenticle Major nerf
I agree that NT was op, but i don't think i'm gonna go to frost, ball lightning is still ridiculous for farming. albeit less ridiculous than NT was, but the width of the effect is m m good. I mean, we're all gonna be permanently infecting ponyland now anyways, ball lightning actually may be a better solution because of twinkleroot's ridiculously small hitboxes.

dunno, just trying to see the silver lining here...

The ias nerf felt like a direct stab at hunters, now the nt nerf is just insult to injury.

I don't mean to rain on your parade, I really don't, but the bow you're looking for is going to be roughtly 5-10 times what your budget is. cold damage over 1100 dps will require near perfect rolls on weapon damage % and near perfect roll on ias.

    2 things.

#1: The tree makes 70% of that zone a complete joke with half decent rare rolls. extra health/reflect makes any one of us cry.

#2: Bofeity: did you play swtor? More specifically, play swtor on Helm of Graush?

posted a message on Farming Azmodan Inferno - tactics?
80k is pretty low with ss, it's doable, but is sorta on the low end. Honestly, your best bet to maximize your dps would be to drop hungering, vault, and caltrops. Replace them with entangling/gang, mark/mortal, and bat companion, that way, when you have an opening, you can unload tons of dmg with elemental. you can also farm champs if you're solid at stutter stepping with entangling.

Here's the thing tho, why not just farm siegebreaker. It's not always farming the most difficult thing that's efficient. more kills/hour > one big kill/hour.

    just food for thought.

posted a message on 2H Bow vs Crossbow?
something i've been theorycrafting a bit is a handxbow build where your ias slots are reallocated to crit damage bonus. since you need so little to hit 2.5+ with dw pistols, you can stack crit bonus and additional dex with the slots you save. also, the stat budget on weapons seems to be a lot better than the stat budget on quivers, and with 2x1 socket weapons you can completely override the archery bonus for xbows with emeralds and get 10% free crit. Dunno, with the right gear, everything is possible, but lets be honest.... you look a lot cooler going john woo style with dual crossbows.

Really only want to play barb or wiz to start, would accept bribes to play a WD.

Lootsharing is fine as long as we're going unique class grouping.
